What should happen (or not happen) to GT6's GT Mode?

  • It should stay the same, I love it.

  • It needs to be like the previous GT games (GT4, GT3, etc...)

  • GT Mode needs to evolve and innovate more than current and previous titles.

  • A career mode needs to replace GT Mode completely as it's getting stale...

So it looks like they tweaked GT Mode a bit with new bits added in there.

What are your thoughts? Has it improved? Did it degraded the experience? Was the poll even close to what we voted for?

Let's get an update.

Am I missing something here? What's GT Mode?
From a member on the previous page...

GT Mode as it stands (ignoring GT6) has always been a series of one-off races, like the special events. Save up enough money, buy a car, enter the race, win a car. Rinse and repeat until you beat them all. The focus is more on car collection, hence grinding to gain money...

So again, has GT Mode improved? Is the experience still dull and degrading? Did it 'evolve' like a lot of the members in the poll wanted or did it end up like this again?
...it's been basically the same since GT1. I've posted these videos a few times because they illustrate the point.

Complete evolution is what I want to see, not more of the same with a different looking menu.

What those videos show is that they start with the same challenge name, the same tracks and the same type of cars. It's the same throughout A-Spec, everything the same as previous games, there is no imagination.

How many more games are you going to buy a 20000 car, start in the Sunday Cup at Autumn Ring, move onto generic events and the same old endurance races? Yes you can't change the basic parameters but it can certainly evolve and change with new ideas.

I'll update the thread to clear the confusion.

It is much much worse than it was in GT5 !

Worst new problem is the rubberband AI, takes every last bit of challenge out of the career mode.

Still ALL races follow the same old dull rules, start almost last with rolling start way behind and catch the leader at front with the best car in way to short time to be real while you have to avoid the other 14 rolling chicanes.

New is also that the body rigidity of your cars is deteriorated after just 500km and wants to be restored for a insane amount of Cr.

New is that there are much less price cars, no expensive race cars at all.

There are a lot of events you have to buy a expensive car for and then its only one race with low reward (1/10th of what the car cost you)

The opponent selection is still horrible, you usually have only one real opponent and the others are just in to fill the grid up and stand in your way while playing catch the leader.

The license tests and missions are very easy to do gold (3rd attempt average, often no problem to be SECONDS under gold time). SRF is again forced on in all those events making it even easier...
Why make it so easy, you don't need gold to make progress in the game.
So why take all the challenge away for all the people that had fun trying to achieve gold in the older GT's ?

I miss the times badly where gold was actually a challenge and you had the feeling you had achieved something not everyone can do if you mastered a license all gold.

So the whole career is not rewarding money wise, not rewarding you with lots of cars, and certainly is not rewarding you with fun, challenge or satisfaction about your driving.
Maybe relief once you brought it behind you ?

And lets better not speak about the first 30min.
U get forced in a car with all aids on before you can configure the controller and the game stops the "race" every 10sec. for a message that tells you how to drive... (As if you could do something wrong with all the aids and race line painted on the track)
.... and when its finally over the game forces you to buy a Fit , and continues with the stupid popups...
WHY ? everything works exactly the same way as it ever did !

Career mode is broken from A to Z (or NB to S :D)
