I need another clarification (I know, I know... I ask for too many of these!): Is the car in this screenshot as far as one can go without being 'out'? I know some people will go all the way left to the barrier, but that kind of feels like a shortcut as it seems to be part of the pit exit. What's the call?

You must stay on or next to the outer white line. Where the Honda S800 ( I believe that is what the car is in the photo ) that is fine, but if you cross into the line over then its a DQ.

Thanks (again) for the clarification!

And, yes, that is a Honda S800 race car!

:)

Off topic:
What a sobering morning for me.
As I was walking to the office a friend of mine told me that the Aunt of our friend just died. Then she proceeded to tell me that the grandmother of another friend of ours is in a coma. Then I open GTplanet & read about Glubags, Niigaki, & Detroitbb. Guys, I hope all is well with you, your family & your friends.

Don't flame me for this.
But as a Christian I'm compelled to say that Jesus Christ is alive He knows what we are all going through right now. He has done wonders for me & my family and I pray that He will do the same for all who are reading this.

On topic:
Haven't ran the NSX on Laguna yet.
But I think I'll have to skip this one.
Lots to do this weekend.

Have a great race everyone!

Were you on the far right side of the track just before entering the corkscrew? Or do you attack it on the left side? I think my line might be the problem...

As I start breaking just before the crest i'm on the right, at the end of the break I start turning (while breaking) to go into a small drift accelerating just a little after the apex to get the rear of the car around, now i'm also accelerating through the last right but just a little. But this only works maybe half the time for me at the moment.

On the other hand I'm not exactly the guru on this track (my laptime is proof of that). My biggest problem where to start breaking.

Didn't get a chance to try again today, have to get up very early tomorrow so I'll have to wait till after work.

I should definitely nail a 1'38.6 or .7 before this one's said and done. Just a matter of hitting the corkscrew perfectly now.

Just did a 1:39.698. There's still room for improvement, at the corkscrew and at turn 1. I'll try again tomorrow.

Hi fellas, just stumbled across your little comp. It looks fantastic, i've been having a go at some of the challenges and would love to jump in. I know this comp is nearly over and I saw Comp 3 looks like a go ahead , if so count me in for that.

This challenge after 3 laps I have managed 1:43.326. (Just out of interest)

I'm no GT expert, but things like this online comp are what this game is made for I reckon. We could even have a championship using Adhoc. But that might require alot of co-ordination. But anyway good on you guys for making this work

Welcome to the challenge, barny0111.
Have you read the rules in the original post?
Feel free to ask if you need clarifications.

Hi guys !

Welcome barny0111 !

I updated the website, FYI the "chevaux" (= Horse Power) I wrote are those you can see when you choose your car ! That's why they might be different from those you can see in the car/dealership cycles lists.

By the way, could someone please tell me if I set a +0.40 toe, is it a "toe-in" or a "toe-out" ? Thanks...

I did a 1'40.906 but not a very good looking one...

Thanks mate, I think I have it sorted. I have already saved a pic and zip file of the ghost data. Its clean lap (despite some slip and slide) that does 1'42.451 . Got some more racing in me though, it might not count to much but its good practice for season 3.👍👍

sorry about this newbie question but, can you have advenced settings(toe angle, gear setup, etc) i am asking this because with standard settings i am not getting lower than 1:40.000, or probably i havent make enought laps?

Gear setup? I think if we allow hacks of that kind it opens the door for unfair play. Just an opinion. I think we should keep it clean.

Still stuck on 1'40.5xx.

That's it ! I am done with this one... not very happy with this lap cause looks like the road is too narrow for me but can't do better+faster... So here it is :
1'40.743

We're allow to use the tuning options specifically in this game - the ones in the tuning menu such as toe, camber, ride height, spring rate, damper, and aerodynamics (you can adjust this on most race cars; most of the other vehicles don't allow you to change the aerodynamic settings).

We are not allow to use the tuning stuff that is built into the code, but that PD didn't want to be used in the game (adjusting gear ratios, weight reduction, adding turbo stages, racing clutches, etc.).

Does that make sense and clear up any confusion?

"+" = toe-in
"-" = toe-out

👍

Thanks Glu' 👍 ! What you say confirms what I read in wikipedia "Positive toe, or toe in, is the front of the wheel pointing in towards the centreline of the vehicle. Negative toe, or toe out, is the front of the wheel pointing away from the centreline of the vehicle. "

Sorry if I did look stupid by asking this question whereas it looked like I already had the answer...

BUT : I am stupid or there is a confusing explaination in the french version (if I am stupid don't be afraid to say so !) :

French version :

"Cette option règle l'angle d'ouverture ou de pincement. L'angle d'ouverture correspond à un écartement des roues et l'angle de pincement à une convergence des roues. Augmentez la valeur par défaut pour régler l'angle d'ouverture et diminuez-la pour régler l'angle de pincement."

Googled :

"This option sets the "angle d'ouverture" or the "angle de pincement". The "angle d'ouverture" corresponds to a gauge wheels [so toe-out ???] and the "angle de pincement" to a convergence wheels [so toe-in ???]. Increase the default value to set the "angle d'ouverture" and lower it to adjust the "angle de pincement".
So, according to the game [+ = angle d'ouverture = toe out] & [- = angle de pincement = toe in]...

I am freaking out !!! Am I stupid or there is a mistake ??? I add some wiki's photos...

So, I spent about three or four hours last night trying to improve and did whittle my time down (a tenth here; a tenth there) - eventually I hit 1'39.2xx. Just before turning off my PSP and trying to go to sleep, I ran a 1'39.1xx. I was so worried about my PSP shutting off before I had a chance to save the ghost replay (for those that don't know, my PSP barely works and has a tendency to lose power and randomly die) that I just saved the new time over my old ghost. I know, I should have saved it on another slot until after I had a chance to review the lap. I'm sure you can guess what happened next: I watch the replay and see three tires slide just beyond the white line on the Rainey Curve.

So now I have a fast, but non-clean ghost. I guess you can say that I currently have no time to submit. I'll have to run some more laps and get a clean one somewhere around my best time. It's especially important as Pitch is coming up fast and my hold on second place overall is tenuous (at best). My only hope is that Glubags can win two of the last three races and that I can stay close to the podium. I feel OK with my possible time for this challenge, but I suck at rally courses and I've only done a handful of laps with the F2007... so I don't have high hopes for me in the final two challenges.

I feel your pain, did the same thing in the Mitsubishi challenge. Chase the new ghost, your time was really fast.

Chase the new ghost, your time was really fast.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do right now. My evening is totally booked up with things I need to do so I only have another 45 minutes or so to get a clean, fast lap. I'm feeling the pressure! That doesn't help as I'm trying to beat or at least stay close to my ghost and then I either brake too late trying to gain a little time and only end up losing massive amounts of time! Or I'll be leading the ghost and brake a bit too early (because I don't want to miss the proper entrance for a turn) and the ghost flys past me.

I felt myself becoming frustrated and a bit irked, so I put the PSP down for a bit (I'm hoping my blood-pressure also goes down!). I have my fingers crossed that I'll have better luck in about 15 minutes!

:scared: :banghead: <---- me five minutes ago

 <---- hopefully me in fifteen minutes

My little 'break' didn't really help at all... now I'm starting to swear at my PSP!

ha ha ha

EDIT: I was doing it! I had a half-a-car length lead on my ghost, was very smooth through the Corkscrew, and was actually muttering to myself - "I'm doing it!" - as I came to the last turn... then I was a millisecond too late to brake and couldn't stop myself from sliding, ever so slowly, into the dirt. UGH!

I'm done for now. If I can find a bit of time later this evening, I'll try again. I can't believe that there is a possibility that I won't even submit a time for this challenge! lol

I got a moment and was able to do it (whew!)... but the last three turns were CLOSE! This one almost gave me a heart attack.

By the way, I got the exact same time as my un-clean ghost! I've never had that happen before!

1'39.121

You did well to curb your emotions and nail it Detroitbb . Not trying for sub 1'39? Its a spin out when you get the exact times hey. In one of the licence test I was .003 out twice in a row than got the exact time needed in the next go.

by the way, how many challenges to go? Is this the last one?

My final time for this challenge is 1'38.959

I put a video online tomorrow because it's 4:30 AM, i back from a party and i'm so tired.

See you later

I think I put more effort into this challenge than any of the past challenges (not particularly because I wanted to, but because it was SO difficult to keep this car on the track through the corners at any respectable speed), and while not every portion of this lap is perfect, it's probably as close as I'll ever get to a "perfect" lap for me, period. Everything just came together, and at worst I was only a foot or so off my line throughout the whole lap. I'm very proud of this one. :)
