I was looking forward to this, I feel a bit more confident on Loose Surfaces...Good First stage. Tapped a fence and got a puncture in the second. Didn't even seem to hit it that hard, I guess thats the "Hardcore Damage" 🙄

I quit out of the stage. So no time. It lets me comeback into the next stage to continue the rally so I might come back and see how well I do in the remaining individual stages later in the week but I'm out already. 😒

It should not let you continue if you quit mid-stage.

If it does, it will be interesting to see how the timing is handled.

I chose a Citroën C3 to race in. It's a bit more skittish than the Skoda RS I used for practice but maybe that's the track degradation which seems to have been nudged up for this championship.

Celebrating each clean stage with a generous swig of Brewdog Hoppy Xmas (6.0 abv) ☆ Not Recommended. I subsequently ended up doing rather more of this rally skidding along on my roof than I would have liked.

In other clubs I’ve seen, it seems to add a nominal time to the end. Seems to be around the 20/30 minute mark.

Since none of the people who went over the cliff in the previous championship even registered as DNF, I don't see how you can quit and still get onto the leaderboard. Maybe there's a setting that needs to be enabled by club organisers before this happens?

Thats fine, I imagined it would just give me a default base time, But to avoid confusion I will not continue with the remaining stages.

Edit - Although it seems someone has already done so, They are listed on the Timings for S1,S2 and S3 but then disappear for S4 before returning for the remaining stages.

Maybe it’s just their version of the Super Rally rules (don’t even know if it’s still called that).

Please, anyone who quits during a stage, please continue if you can. We need to see what happens.

For those DNFing with damage or the cliff death screen, we already know how it "works". You can't continue, your time doesn't show up in the event total time, and you don't show as a DNF, either 😡

Co-driver: Ryan.. Did you bring the spare this time?

Ryan: 😐

😄 I did, But after replacing the First one and taking the 1:30 penalty I still had another puncture for some reason. Doesn't make any sense at all as I have hit things a lot harder than this and got away with it every time.

Provisional 1st, very close to @MagpieRacer as usual.

Clean run except for a puncture 2km from the end of SS7.

sonofflanos is a friend of mine. He is missing a time on SS4 (the ten minute stage). Looks like he got a 15' penalty for backing out. I am waiting for him to confirm but it seems like that's the case.

If it's a 15 minute penalty for backing out then I would be comfortable completing the remaining stages just for fun. As I will be clearly far enough back to avoid any confusion.

If everyone is happy with that ofcourse.

Brown pants time for me at the end of stage 5 as my game refused to save after losing its server connection.

Luckily it managed to sort itself out after a couple of minutes.

I think the amount of time added depends on the length of the stage. These are exactly the things we want to test while waiting for buglfixes so please finish.

Edit: Also confirmed that sonofflanos got the penalty because of a game crash during SS4.

Wasn't able to do most of the "exhibition" championship, but am hoping to participate more moving forward. I can only get isolation time for this game a couple times a week. So between single player stuff and a couple clubs it gets hard to do all i want/need to before time runs out.

I agree. Most people here are in multiple clubs and it can become difficult to do everything each week. There are also some very large, organized clubs that are planning some fantastic things which I think will influence how we tackle our own GTP club.

There is a big speed and skill spread here and it seems we have a mix of hardcore, casual, and in-between people and I think most of us are just trying to get some fun out of it.

Therefore, I propose we tone down the seriousness here and do something more casual. There are plenty of serious hardcore clubs out there for those looking for that. I personally will focus on VRC.

First, we could drop down to normal damage to avoid the easy punctures for those who can't avoid the walls/berms/curbs. Second, I feel that 30' rallies weekly would be a good balance.

If we want to throw some difficulty in there we could have a long loop before a service, then a single final stage, so that tire wear would be the variable instead of damage.

And since the club isn't that big we could set points to WRC points (top 10 finishers) and activate the power stage points. That would also free us from admin duties like compiling results, assigning points, etc...

I will be away from home until Monday so when this event ends, @MagpieRacer feel free to set up another WRC2 event so we can keep messing around with things. Maybe you could try a ~30' rally, normal damage, with only a single service before the last stage (just to see how that possible format sits with people)?

Next week I will publish a list of all GTP members and kick those who are not members of this site (there are some "infiltrators" from my friend list). It's ludicrous that we no longer have moderated clubs. Just one more thing inexplicably missing that was in DR2.0 and WRCG.

I feel this is mainly aimed at me...😭

(Yes please, I like that change. Thank You very much) 😄
No, not at all LOL! It's just a general suggestion to move the league to a more accessible format. Like I said before, if anyone wants real hardcore stuff, there are plenty of organized leagues out there.

What we CANNOT change is allowing restarts or annulling the terminal damage cliff death screen.

So it means there are still many off sections for @RYAN to explore 🤣

I'll hide behind a tree now 🫣

Yes, I might be a infiltrator from your friends list, but I'm also a daily reader of the forums here on GTP.
In fact, it was here where I read about the GTP club.

I really enjoy reading everyone's impressions about the game and how stages/events went, and also like seeing the results posted here after the event. (also please dont stop doing that, if it isn't to much trouble).

I just haven't used this account for actually writing on the forums, but I can guarantee you all I check the forums multiple times a day, and i also make sure to participate in the wonderful events you guys put together time after time, because I really appreciate the time and effort you guys put into the club and its events

Don't worry, everyone. I will post the list of participants and then ask for a roll call, so that anyone left out can let me know and get on the list.

Here drill sargeant!

In all seriousness, I agree with what you’re saying, there’s such a variety of skills here and there are many clubs for hardcore and such. Keep it informal and fun might be the way to go. If the club expands more perhaps it can be reassessed but for now I think you’re right.

I hope it's not a night event in Kenya or I probably won't make it as far as the service.

First puncture on a club stage, and because I wouldn't have it any other way, it had to be at the start of the 18km stage 🥳

Instead of changing the tire, decided to practice driving with 3 wheels. Very helpful lesson to get to grips with how the car handles after a puncture.

@RYAN I now see what you meant with the slightest of touch.
I clipped a very short "curb" at low speed and was really surprised it destroyed the wheel.
