Ahhhh I'm jynxed!!! I just can't get a clean run at all in these runs. Everything was going smooth until I slid off and hit a huge tree about 75% distance I only lost probably about 5-6 seconds but as I was pushing towards the end I did the exact same on the final 3 left and got stuck I wasted so much time trying to free it, I should have just instantly reset.

Lol, I made the exact same two mistakes but in a recce run, thankfully.

Recce runs, Oh I see how it is... 😄 Nowonder I can't get a clean run when my practice amounts to a shakedown. Atleast I always get a clean First sector😊
To be honest it doesn't improve my runs as much as I'd like. If I get a fast clean time on practice I tend to push harder in the actual race increasing the opportunity for mistakes. Plus I'm more nervous when doing it for "real" although some people seem to reset the game if they bork the run so that may be a solution to the lack of a restart option.

I believe real rally drivers practice stages before racing so I don't see how it's unrealistic.
Cowards with no honor :irked: Be like me, using the honorable way of doing this stages with no practice whatsoever :mischievous: it's more fun this way :dopey:
Please keep doing this

I usually do a couple runs to test out/get a feel for the car(s) and see if there are any dodgy pace notes.

But obviously the only time I smash head-in to a sign is on my real run.

Yeah they do their recce runs. I guess if you wanted the real rally driver experience you could practice the stage as a regularity rally so you do it at the sort of speeds they would Recce.

I tend to run the shakedown a couple times just to get to grips with the car and surface, but that's about it. Which probably explains my terrible run in Spain

I was just looking at the polls. Here are the results:

POLL #1 LENGTH AND FREQUENCY OF EVENTS CURRENT RESULTS:
  1. 60-minute rallies, one per week wins with 9 votes.

POLL #2 SERVICE INTERVALS CURRENT RESULTS:
  1. Medium intervals, I want a balanced approach wins and is also unanimous.

POLL #3 COMBINING LOCATIONS:
This poll has been annulled since Clubs unfortunately do not allow us to combine different locations.

POLL #4 CAR CLASSES
  1. WRC2 wins and is also unanimous. (this one really surprised me!)

Based on this I propose (or am being forced to) using the WRC2 class. I would split it into three seasons of six rounds to fully utilize all the locations and not have seasons being too long. Although the poll results show 60' weekly rallies narrowly winning, I think with myself and many others being involved in multiple clubs, we should consider doing 30' rallies weekly or bi-weekly. Let me know what you guys think.

Unfortunately with Clubs in the state they are in we can't start anything serious yet so we'll just keep fiddling around with events. The next championship I think should be a proper rally with normal damage just to have some fun.

I really hope we get some Clubs fixes in the next patch next month.

Definitely glad not to be using Rally 1. The boost system sucks. I'd be happier with 30 minute stages than 1 hour stages too.

Ditto, I wouldn't mind alternating between R1+R2 but as it stands the overall driveability & technical issues with the R1 hybrid do not make them all that enjoyable to drive, at least for me.

Sounds good to me too 👍🏻

This was my view halfway through, safe to say I had a bit of a 'mare. 😬

Such a fun stage/car combination today. I think S1600 might be my favorite category for tarmac. Plenty agile, and fast enough but not to the point of being completely unforgiving. The right balance for fun.

Apologies for the late results, but I've been Christmas shopping with the Missus, joyous times.

Round 2: Iberia - Aiguamúrcia, Morning, clear (dry).

Phwoar! I have a point... 😯 that's one more than expected!

And all I'm gonna get with a puncture for a mile today...

I smashed into a tree on turn 3 and rage quit out of frustration, so no entry from me today. DNF? CBA more like :D

And no entry for me as my game crashed displaying UE bug report screen and after "send and restart" I'm not able to enter current stage anymore. 😑

Funny enough, after this happened I've completed 4 moments plus 3 stages in official club (Rally Japan) having no problems at all.

Finally a clean run I'm happy with! I feel the only way I could improve is by lengthening the gears as I was revving the nuts out of it on the limiter for most of the highspeed stuff towards the end. What a time by @Ali

Edit - Looking back at the Racenet Analyze, I could've definitely been a bit more brave towards the start. I noticed @Ali had a few close shaves though. A 2 left with 3-4 concrete bollards on the outside just before the hairpins starts was one of the hazards I kept in my mind from recce runs, I took a tight safe line whereas @Ali took in a lot more speed and nearly clipped them in the racenet replay.

I know this has been highlighted multiple times but what a great feature the Analyze feature is and Racenet is very good as a whole it has to be said. 😊👍

I figure that real rally drivers get to run the course at least a couple of times first (sometimes in different machinery), plus studying their asses off with their team/co-driver the night before and whatever prior experience they have with the car and the stage from earlier rallies. I think a lot of people have this weird perception that rally drivers essentially go into stages blind and figure it out on the fly, and that's very much not the case. They're getting paid to do this, they cram every bit of information they can to help themselves.

Doing a run in each available car to get a feel for a vehicle we've (probably) never driven before on a track we've never seen before doesn't get us anywhere near the level of pre-knowledge that a rally driver would have in real life. It would be insane to take a random car onto a random course and expect a decent result. Pace notes are great, but they're reminders more than accurate descriptions of corners. In real life, you would expect a crash if you went into a course at racing speed going only on pace notes. In real life you wouldn't do it, because you'd be scared of dying.

I would recommend everyone do at least one run of the course in time trial before your hot lap, because anything less is just setting yourself up for failure in a way that isn't true to the spirit of rallying and racing at all. The game allows you to practice if you want, and so I think doing so is completely fair and sensible if you have the time to do so.
