Borrow Glitch How- to Guide for dummies and non dummies alike.

Borrow Glitch 2 hour+ Method.

Step 1. Make sure you are on patch 2.10 or 2.11.

Step 2. Borrow someones shared car. Save game allow auto save then save manually.

Step 3. Exit game, now save the GT5 savegame in xmb menu under the (game data utility (ps3) ) to USB flash drive, put two to 3 backups of the savegame to your pc.

Step 4. In xmb menu scroll upto ( game data utlity ) and delete the 2.10/2.11 patch. If you have any replay or photos they will be deleted. But you can go to them and export them to xmb menu. But i was told that they are stored in the patch.

Step 5. Boot game up, when it asks you to install 2.10/2.11 patch say yes. Allow 1/20 or 1/21 (depending on the patch) to download and install, as soon as 2/20 or 2/21 starts downloading press circle to cancel installation. You now have patch 1.05 installed.

Step 6. Start game up and press circle again to cancel to continue the 2.10/2.11 updates and this time the game will load. Make sure you say No to sign in and No to install game to hdd (patch 1.05 won't allow network access).

Step 7. Once you get to the games main menu, press save. Now you can if you want go into GTMode but game might freeze (does on mine) don't worry this is fine. But notice the car you borrowed you now own. No red key and car is white with a garage icon.

Step 8. Now quit game. Start up the game again and this time say yes to continue updates to bring you back upto patch 2.10/2.11.

Step 9. Now when updates are finished you can enter GTMode and you own the car you borrowed.

Just a thought here. I feel that the quality of competition is being destroyed with all of this hacking. I get the excitement of playing with cars that have crazy Hp, but there is already so much cheating that takes place and the whole purpose and fun of this was to test your tuning and driving skills with another...not ones hacking skills! I have enjoyed being able to take my mind off of the daily pressures to engage in some fun, but with all of the childish drama that has really gotten out of control, cheating and now the viral hacking that is taking place I am considering calling it quits and putting my time into something else. I don't really want to but I am not interested in trying to compete in an environment where simple hacking can give people the edge over tuning. I know, I know...all you have to do is limit the Hp for a drag room and then the competition is equal. I know better. Just a matter of time before (probably already out there) cars are being hacked with Hp boosts large enough to insure victory but small enough to send up any red flags. Please do not think that this is directed toward any one person, but just a tuner that has been here since GT5 was released voicing his concern for a game and community that is becoming something that he can do without. Thanks for reading.

You have a point. I was racing a "new" guy last night, and it was hard to tell if he was echeating or had a hybrid because it was obvious his "tune" was not capable of such performance. Then you are stuck.. You don't want to call him out for cheating, because you have no proof, so you scratch your head a little and wonder what is going on.
So I let it ride.. ( My bet is Echeat )

Don't get discouraged with the state of the game though. We have seen multiple "advancements" come and go in phases. What is enticing today is usually bland tomorrow..

The truth is, GT5 is dying..
It's been out for a longg time.
We have discovered countless "glitches".
We have tuned almost every car available.

There is not much left to do besides enjoy the final hours, and anticipate the next saga.
GT6 :D

Just last night I raced a guy whom I have raced plenty of times and have a good deal of respect for, however I had some fortune and actually treed him and I put about 1 1/2 cars on him thinking that I was in position for a good run and victory just to get beat by 4 car lengths. :ouch:

Thanks for your encouragement.👍

Hi Pastor. +1000 :) My Glitch guide was only merely intended for the purpose of bypassing the dupe method to get any car in general from a friend whos willing to share it. The only exception is DLC cars that don't exist before 1.05 patch. If your going to do it very often though you really need 2 ps3's, as 1 ps3 is too time consuming. But it pays off dividends in the end because you get a car that you can't usually get with duping sometimes. And you can get more than one car a day in fact many many many. :)

Good point guys... GRan Turismo ain't what it use to be and frankly it's sad. Time to put the game on the top shelf. In new and even I got bored due to all the cheating an hacking.
RIP GT.

I would not go to that extreme.. SSRX might be in the I.C.U, but it still extremely helpful for learning shift points and detailed tuning.

Indy is still a blast though!
-There's nothing better than throwing on a headset, jumping into a room full of your friends, fighting for the tree, and pushing them into the wall when they caught you ZZZZ'n.
- i still get a "rush" from the late night drags when the house is quiet, mics are disabled, all your connections are clean, and the competition is high.

It comes down to what makes you pick up the sticks, and why you play the game.

I truly understand and please don't think I wrote in response to rebuke or correct you or anybody else, as I am definitely nobody to be correcting anyone else.:) To be honest you don't owe me or anybody else an explanation as it is clear that your intentions are to help and that is what is GOOD about these forums.👍 This is just something that I have been dealing with for a couple of weeks now. Because of the cheating in many lobbies I only recently decided to start posting some times here because I have seen an effort from many of you guys to have fair competition. I will admit I had a buddy send me the EK and I took it straight to the X track and laughed my friggin butt off as it did its thing, but I would rather come in second knowing I did my best and I need to keep tuning than to win by any other way than to earn it. Unless these victories put real money in my pocket...then I would be a cheatin DAWG!!:guilty:

True that Brother....Those late night (dirty races) SSR7 with a field of 16 cars, boost set on high and three laps of "Ain't nobody gonna be my friend tonight" races are still the best.

I love it:)

Some news for when Mazda gets back... As much I hate for this to happen but there are some slightly modified hybrids now dragging online. And how can we police this if they just put crap tunes on them and get record times or .002 off record to make themselves seem hidden? Are we gonna start doing video submissions because they are out there and people will do this... 👎 I want them patched already.

Today I was dealing with one of those, we were having an enzo comp and I treed the daylights out of the guy then he pulled on me and got me by a whole car and a half. He refused to admit it was hacked and my enzo runs 9.003 so even the fastest one cant beat me by that much with an even tree. Getting so tired of all the hacks too..it's all people want to use and or talk about now.
