Can't wait to see that beast at Clipsal. It's a shame we wont be seeing the new 911 and 488 next week though, plus the absence of Bentley too. Should be really good though, it's hard to believe what Australian GT has become since Tony Quinn took over. From a field dominated by ex-Carrera Cup 911's and oddball cars which looked completely out of place (Donut King GT-R, anyone?) just a few years ago to a format where just about everyone is in equal, modern machinery.

Vicious Rumour Racing's 488 has landed.
The Melbourne-based operation has confirmed plans to field Ferrari’s latest GT3 offering in elected rounds of the Australian GT Championship beginning at next month’s Australian Grand Prix meeting (March 17-20).

Ferrari test driver Andrea Montermini will share the car with Benny Simonsen, the brother of the late Allan, at the Grand Prix meeting.

The team has been allocated the second 488 GT3 chassis produced by the famous Italian operation ahead of the car’s global race debut at Albert Park.

Could've sworn Andrea Montermini was a Pagani car development driver

Maybe he does both??

I know I've read a lot of him testing the 488 and he's been racing the 458 GT3 a fair bit (full time?) in the Blancpain Series.

Anyway, it's great to see the car racing in AGT. I've seen the Vicious Rumour 458 race in the State series (and the 12hr, of course) but not enough AGT races. Good to see them step up for some of the races.

I think Padayachee would be bringing money
He's sponsored by Quinn in Carrera Cup. But I'd expect your thought to be correct.

It was just surprising to see since he hasn't exactly done much since he joined CC. Usually one of, in not the slowest of the Pro drivers. He has definitely gotten quicker, still not on some of the others level though.

Heitkotter and Davidson confirmed in the Always evolving GT-R's in PWC and 2 RJN/AE factory backed GT-R's will run in Blancpain like this.

Sprint Pro car: Alex Buncombe, Mitsunori Takaboshi

Sprint Pro Silver Cup car: Sean Walkinshaw, Ricardo Sánchez

Endurance Pro car: Alex Buncombe, Lucas Ordóñez, Mitsunori Takaboshi

Endurance Pro Am car: Sean Walkinshaw, Matt Simmons, Romain Sarazin

Chiyo gets moved to SuperGT 500.

Saw a list of entries for both of the Blancpain GT series; currently 46 cars in BES and a whoopping 36 in BSS!
Lots and lots of Audis and Lambos this season.

Hopefully thats 46 full time entries, not sure how many turn up for the odd race here and there but the BES grid has been shrinking over the last 2 seasons,

I think we'll be looking back on these years as the glory days of GT3 racing, so many exciting cars and manufacturers and so many classic events. Since i stopped watching F1 last year i haven't been bored one bit when it comes to watching motorsport, on the contrary.
