While I'm not an author that does a great deal of posting on the internet, I can't say that resposting an entire story without even linking to the article is a good idea.

In the future, I'd just quote a few select points and leave a link to the page you got it from so that the website gets a click for something they posted.

Quoting somtimes doesnt work my HTC. I'll try the tablet. I posted the link in the story above it as the quote wasnt working on my phone.

Bentley’s director of motorsport Brian Gush confirmed to Speedcafe.com last month that the squad has identified the drivers they hope to sign for the event.

He also admitted that the team is evaluating Australian drivers for the role with the Bathurst driver line up announcement expected in the coming weeks.

Im sure there are a few drivers here who are on their knees and rubbing rosary beads.

German factory Audi driver Christopher Mies will compete in the full 2015 Australian GT Championship for Steve McLaughlan’s JAMEC-PEM Racing.

Local privateer McLaughlan has recently bought a second, brand new R8 GT3 to add to his stable, which will be run as a two-car team within Melbourne Performance Centre’s fleet.

“I’m really looking forward to doing Australian GT together with JAMEC-PEM Racing and MPC,” said the 25-year-old Mies.

“I’m a big fan of Australia. The target is definitely to win the championship this year, that’s what I’m there for.

“I watched some of the races from 2014 and it looked like it is already a tough competition with some tight racing. I like that.

“From what I hear, my guess is that 2015 will be even more competitive, especially with the rumour that there will be a number of former V8 Supercar drivers and some other young guys looking to establish themselves in GT also coming in.

“The Australian market is very important for a brand like Audi, and I’m very proud to be the first official Audi driver who’s doing a complete championship there.

“No question it will not be easy against all the other good drivers, especially as I don’t know many of the tracks, but I’ll enjoy it as much as possible.”

Mies will meanwhile race a different MPC Audi at next month’s Bathurst 12 Hour, teaming with Marc Cini and Mark Eddy for a third year.

The race will mark Mies’ fifth consecutive appearance at the Bathurst 12 Hour, which he won in 2011 and 2012 while part of Audi’s factory line-ups.

Cindric and Canto join Erebus for Bathurst assault.
American teenager Austin Cindric and experienced V8 Supercars co-driver Dean Canto headline Erebus Motorsport’s line-up for next month’s Bathurst 12 Hour.

The 16-year-old Cindric will become the race’s youngest ever competitor when he drives alongside Australian Formula 3 graduates Simon Hodge and Nathan Morcom in the #36 SLS.
Canto has meanwhile been snapped up by Erebus following a late change of plans at Ferrari outfit Vicious Rumour Racing.

Erebus Academy drivers Richard Muscat and Jack Le Brocq will join Canto in the #63, leading the team’s quest to add to its 2013 Bathurst crown.

Tony Quinn is taking the Australian GT Championship to the next level from 2016, mirroring the Blancpain format with both a sprint and endurance series. Quinn's finally able to make some great strides for the series now that the GT3 specification is really starting to take off down under. Starting this year, entrants will also be able to enter 2014 and '15 machinery ensuring that Australian fans will be able to see the very best and latest supercars racing wheel to wheel. The series should also be picking up considerably more television time with more V8 Supercar support races being covered on Fox Sports.

Although I probably wont be able to catch any of the races (besides the Clipsal 500 supports), since I don't have Foxtel, I'm really excited for this series which I've been following since its inception. Hopefully Tony Quinn will be able to sort out a television package for the endurance series too, or perhaps he could offer a live stream much like the Blancpain series? Maybe channel 7 could pick it up if their Bathurst 12 Hour coverage goes well next month.

Awesome! The more exposure, the better.

Think Penske would be interested?
I'd love it if any of the V8 Supercar teams started up a GT car program but I can't really see it happening right now considering they're all having a hard enough time finding sponsorship as it is. But I do dream of Walkinshaw/Triple 8 turning up with a CTS-V or Camaro, Prodrive/Penske with the new Ford GT (assuming a GT3 version happens), Nissan with a GT-R, BJR with an R8, etc.

They need a car in Australian GT. I know Europe have more exposure and home to the program. The grid is missing the GTR.
I think a GTR is needed. I would love to see GM actually follow the rules and have customer ATS-V cars that teams can race globally. I know it would be a tough car to beat

How is GM doing anything differently from Bentley when they started off? And really, you can't get upset at them when they could've easily continued developing a PWC-specific car instead of going to extra lengths to make a GT3 one.

It doesn't make much difference what manufacturer it is. Bentley really wasn't following the rules either. Considering GM does this in all of the series that they race in, it doesn't come as a surprise.

The FIA is fine with it so then I REALLY don't care about it having a year under factory support before shipping to customers. Mclaren pretty much did that (in a way) when the 12C came out. It's GM's first in house (technically) GT3 car, and as such it falls under the same situation as Bentley. And besides...is it really an advantage? Especially with a car bound to have some breaking in issues?

The reigning winner of the World Endurance Championship’s GT category, factory Ferrari driver Toni Vilander, will be on the grid at this year’s Bathurst 12 Hour.

The 34-year-old Finn joins Malaysian squad Clearwater Racing for his first visit to Mount Panorama.
