Porsche should release car by late 2015, otherwise teams with the Porsche GT-America's will be jumping ship to other GT3 cars. Course this may happen anyway, but for their presence in America's highest level endurance series they need to help out the GT-America owners. Either way they'll probably lose a few teams to other brands anyway.http://sportscar365.com/gt/new-porsche-911-gt3-r-delayed-until-2016/
The New GT3-R won't be arriving until 2016.
There was no confirmation as to whether or not the car would be debuting at the Daytona 24 Hour, but I'm going to guess that it will definitely race there (and debut late 2015 at the Gulf 12 Hours or early 2016 at the Dubai 24).
There are too many Porsche teams in the US for the car to not race at Daytona. It wouldn't make sense for them to force their customers to sit out the season opener or go and buy old GT3-R's only for them to be at the mercy of any team that waits or debuts midway through the season with a new one.
Model maker Autoart, whose products are imported into Australia by Biante, says it will produce 1/18th scale replicas of the Bathurst cars later this year.
They just turn up at random races and see if they series will allow them to enter. What series do those cars run in?
Awesome! 👍 I need to look into the MARC cars...they're amazing. They just turn up at random races and see if they series will allow them to enter.

Sweet! I'll miss his commentary work but glad he will be the brains behind PWC's officiating.Till Named PWC Race Director/Chief Driver Steward
For anyone curious, it is Brian Till. Yes, THAT Brian Till.
The development of the BMW M6 GT3 is progressing according to plan. It is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 M TwinPower Turbo production engine, which has been the subject of modifications for its use on the racetrack. It has dry sump lubrication and generates over 500 hp, with a total car weight of less than 1,300 kilograms. Further features of the BMW M6 GT3 include the transaxle drive concept, a six-speed sequential racing transmission, and powerful motorsport electronics. The chassis’ aerodynamic properties were optimised in the BMW wind tunnel.
With twin turbos...not likely. Just listen to how quiet the 650S V8TT is compared to the NA V8 of the Z4. It's not terrible...but it doesn't have the same screaming roar of the Z4.The Cobra

I hope that M6 GT3 sounds just as, if not meaner then the Z4 did.
Green flag in 40 minutes. We have a separate thread just for the race. This Bathurst 12 hour shouldn't be far away from starting? My phone crashes when I go on the website,
http://www.racer.com/international-...ickenhaus-preparing-two-car-endurance-programRemember those "futuristic" racers that we saw as kids years ago? Racecars are starting to look like them (not just the LMP's). This AMG-GT GT3 car is going to be nuts.
“Theoretically, the car is built to GTE-legal standards, but it is not homologated,” he said. “Well, the ’Ring has let us race; we’ve gotten calls from about 12 other tracks; the 24 Hours of Dubai wants us to bring the SCG003; Bathurst wants us there; the 12 hours of Imola… We are negotiating with Stephane Ratel and – no promises –we both want us there for the 24 Hours of Spa.”
Glickenhaus expressed his desire to race the SCG003 at Le Mans when the car was launched, and while that initiative could take a few years to incubate, he hopes to use the team’s racing endeavors in 2015 as a roadmap to bigger things.
“We want to race the 24 Hours of Daytona, and we’re already speaking with Jim France about it,” he said. “Our fans just want to see us run, get excited and have a good time. We had over one million visitors to our Facebook page when we raced at the ’Ring, and they want to see us do more with the new car.”
