GT Sport 1.12 Update Now Available

My point is that you said the Ferrari Gr.3 lacked in speed which is not true.

It lacked in stability due to stock setup being bad. If it lacked in speed you wouldn't see it in the top1 in several regions on a fast track like Kyoto.

We see more M6s because it's just OP atm, more 911s because its stock setup is the best and Mustangs and Vettes (since last UP) because they're crazy fast on straights. The AMG is a well balanced car and very stable.
I don't think using aliens is a good parameter for determining a car's speed. Like I said, I bet that same guy can take a Hyundai and put it in the top 10.

I think aliens's times are the best examples to use because they will push to the limit all the cars. If the 458 lacked in speed you can bet it wouldn't show in the top 1 around this track at least on 2 regions. And most top10 times were set with the 458 on that day. I used a Vette IIRC.

Why would you prefer to use as evidence the pace of less skilled people to make a point about speed? If you'd make the same point about handling I would agree, but speed? Nope. Because aliens can handle anything and speed will come through. Non alien people will struggle a bit more and so it's pointless to judge the speed in that case.

PS: putting a top10 is not the same as being top1 in 2 regions. You can't set a top1 time with a car that lacks in speed.

I would argue that taking Alien laps is exactly the right thing to do - they are far more likely to be able to consistently find the limits of any car and so find it's ultimate pace... at least we then know if the car is fast/slow, rather than the driver.

Not if the leaderboard is full of other aliens. Only aliens can unlock a cars true potential. So if Car A has the potential of being 0.5 seconds faster than Car B, car A will dominate any leaderboard where there has been an honest effort made by a large group of people. We saw this in GT5 and GT6 TT's all the time, where a single car would dominate over and over. Take this leaderboard for example. You could use any GT500 car for this TT. 50,000 entries and the top 29 are a single car and 93 of the top 100. The next best car is 0.8s away.

I must say i just checked driving after this update and i can say that the driving is more enjoyable now especially during slides and the handling is better i think i notice this immediately because i drives daily a few laps mostly in Bugatti Veyron so i know this car really well.

So, I just came home from work and couldn’t wait to jump behind my Wheel since I read about the update improvements regarding the Ferrari.
Just FYI, it’s the only Car I actually drive in Gr3 so i‘m quite familiar with it.
I pushed a couple of Laps around Interlagos, and immediately noticed the main difference. It handles much more tamed and predictable than before. I don’t want to go into detail as my English is not good enough. It feels like a „more grown up“ riper Version compared to the wild and untamed one I was used too. On one side I miss the thrill riding this bullet, on the other side it’s just more relaxed which isn’t that bad.
Before I forget it, I even improved my best previous lap time by 0.4 Seconds, and on an optimal lap there were even 0.2 seconds more possible. Keep in mind i‘m No Alien, just a usual Guy, but for us usuals it’s definitely faster than before, and I would really appreciate if maybe some people who also drive the Ferrari would share their thoughts and impressions. Maybe some Aliens could also Test it out, although to be honest, for some unknown reason they tend to not use this Car at all which I don’t understand. I actually believe that this Car has the potential driven in the right hands to outperform any other Gr3 Car.

Edit: Sorry i forgot to turn on BoP in time trial. So actually no valuable reference in my lap time improvements. I‘ll check it out right now once again with BoP activated. Amateur :P

I’ll give my two cents on it when I get home, I drive the 458 GT3 often.

Before the maintenance yesterday I was painting a 458 GT3 (coincidence, huh) and I noticed that brand logos were missing (we had three separate options) and even after the update it's still missing a lot of the logos (Brembo, AEM, Bilstein, all tire logos, most of rims brands)... What happened?!

Ferrari decided to limit the decal selection in the editor to only brands that sponsored the 458 racing program in real life for some reason. It can be bypassed through the favourites folder.

Ferrari is alot more stabler, feels almost like the McLaren or GT Citroen more like. The Huracan is stabler under speed now but still wants to slip out from under you in slow speeds, it's a rocky car to drive on Nurb GP.

Also, not even sure why they addressed the Cayman's handilng, it handled fine before, was one of better corner Gr4 cars, but now it's pretty much a mirror of the WRX.

I find it kind of bizarre that they improved the handling of the Alfa 4C Gr.4 but left the Gr.3 alone, when the Gr.3 version was maybe even more uncontrollable than the 458. The Gr.4 was fine.

But i saw you sometimes in the leaderbords, and you are S/S, which is for me at least very close to alienology, so I think your impressions on the ferrari can be trusted. I'll try the horse today, too I think

tbh I think I'd pass on another oval track. never quite understood the fasciniation americans have with oval tracks lol

Oval tracks in America are a throwback to the early days of auto racing in America. Nearly every town of any size had a fairgrounds for festive celebrations, etc. A a major feature of the fairground was usually a 1/2 mile dirt oval (some larger, some smaller) for horse racing which was conducted as part of a week long "fair".

Since racing on public roads was not practical here for various reasons, early auto racers were drawn to the dirt ovals at these fairgrounds. Most towns eventually had an auto racing series which ran every weekend from spring to fall at the fairgrounds dirt oval. Cars and drivers evolved in that environment, due in no small part to the fact that the cars themselves were larger and much less maneuverable than the smaller cars in other countries. It was only natural that major speedways would just be bigger, paved ovals. There were road races and hillclimbs in a few locations but the predominant venue was the dirt ovals at the local fairgrounds and it all evolved from there. Even the first races at Daytona were held on an "oval" which was comprised of an ocean beach and the access road that ran parallel to the beach with two 180 degree turns at either end.

There are still plenty of 1/2 mile dirt ovals in small towns all across America where racing is held every weekend. Just a little oval racing trivia for you.

Brands Hatch times trials:

1.) 458 Italia Gr.3(No assists except ABS)

-Force feedback is heavier
-No longer has really snappy/responsive steering feel
-Instead of massive oversteer, car slightly understeers
-Car is more stable at higher speeds
-Instead of feeling rear tires losing control, it feels like all four wheels or the whole body of car are losing control
-Easier to recover from fish tailing
-Easier to trail brake
-Can still spin out with tcs off

2.) Audi R8 LMS(No assists except ABS):

-Force feedback feels light now
-Car slightly oversteers as opposed to understeer
-Do not have to fight understeer like before
-Driving experience has been smoothed out
-Car was actually fun before, and drove pretty well, now they all feel somewhat similar, it lost the unique feeling it had, definitely needed some tweaking but without losing fun characteristics of car

.......
.......

Both cars are competitive for all drivers now, but they kind of lost unique driving characteristics to them, feel similar to other Gr.3 cars.

I haven't tried them yet but am glad they have looked at the the 458 and hurucan gt3 as I did not enjoy their handling - actually more accurately I felt it was just a lack of rear grip compared to the other gt3's.

I was doing a compare with BoP round nordschleife with all my gt3's and whilst I'm just an average driver (6:45's) I couldn't get those two cars round in a decent time - like over 10s off in the ferrari and over 20 in the hurucan Just fighting it the whole way round .

However I don't want them too make all these changes and have cars easier too drive (or more similar to each other) if that's moving away from what's realistic in terms of handling and behaviour.
