Anyone notice any difference in today from yesterday in terms of grip? Seems like the car is understeering a lot more today than yesterday.

Exactly, and it's unrealistic at times.
In private lobbies I would assume you can limit drivetrains just like in previous editions of the game, but I really hope that in the sanctioned FIA lobbies drivetrains are limited by default. In super competitive racing, the advantage gained by 4wd at the start alone is often insurmountable so, if they have a choice, no one who wants to win will choose a RWD let alone a FWD car. If they don't address this issue, they might as well change the name to GTSport 4 Wheel Drive Edition.

1 - poor off track grip
2 - assisted oversteer
3 - ability to hit rev limter on down **** without any effect.
The list can go on and on.
Add in:

MR car behaviour goes straight to oversteer on a gradual throttle increase, no understeer at all.
Bumps and curbs on the track edge seem to affect the car in a vertical plane only.
All indications point to it still being a simple single rotational point model (with seperate tyre yaw not accounted for).
Quite clear assists in terms of oversteer correction ( I hope as if not it's an even bigger issue).

That's off the top of my head.

You mean "wrong"? As i feel theres too much of it most of the time. :odd:

3 - ability to hit rev limter on down shift without any effect.
Thats an aid at work. Rev matching is forced on. One can even see the tcs light blink on down shifts. :indiff:

Then theres suspension travel and weight shift like this that makes me think its more of an tyremodel rather than physics issue.. :odd:

Well the last one is a bit wipeoutish..

I believe Forza had this problem around FM3, where AWD swaps were simply faster for the PP than anything else. Gran Turismo is catching up!

Minimal feedback from the wheel also, hard to tell when you lose grip
It's the same on DualShock 4; I can't drive without ABS in this game as I literally cannot feel when the brakes lock up. The difference in feedback between GT Sport and any Forza game is night and day.

AWD cars were overpowered in Forza Motorsport 3 and then "overly nerfed" in Forza Motorsport 4. The balance in Forza Motorsport 6 still slightly favours RWD but AWD can be competitive in the right places.

Forza Horizon 3 (and Forza Horizon 2 to an extent) heavily favour AWD, partly due to the off-road racing component but mainly due to the more forgiving handling model. Cars in Horizon have much more front grip and initial turn-in than in Motorsport, so cars that typically understeer (like most AWDs) don't do it so much now while still reaping the benefits of stronger launch, acceleration and stability.

I have noticed this with a wheel. As we dont have any control over brake strenght/pressure/sensitivity in the beta, I find it very hard to modulate braking with my g29 as the wheels lock very early - way before i can feel any pressure on the pedal.. :indiff:

One of the reasons why I first got the DFGT was because you could simulate the resistance with a squash ball/stress ball/polyurethane foam which worked a treat with no ABS once practiced and with a good car setup. It wouldn't have harmed Logitech much to create the facility for resistance braking on their fancier wheels where ABS would have been most likely prohibited online.

It was a very good and durable wheel for the money and I'm sure PD were probably quite surprised that more users didn't take the opportunity to snap them up considering the relative low cost and how easy it is to either cobble together some sort of mounting arrangement or buy a stand or rig. Those that were serious and good enough to buy a wheel are now having to suffer these daft easy-to-drive physics because the majority couldn't be bothered (in most cases) to set themselves up with the proper hard ware that is needed for sims.

Had one dfgt myself. Great wheel for the price. Pretty much died after no support for ps4..

Best solution for me as far as mounting goes is my few years old wheel stand pro. 👍

The game is very accessible but they went over the board a bit with the physics being too forgiving. It's a bit unsatisfying.

PD please make "Simulation" and "Intermediate" modes. Plenty games do that.

Simulation would be your best take on game physics and Intermediate would be like it is right now with aids.

Really hope PD make it happen!!!

If the Forza physics engine allowed cars to oversteer off-throttle the way they're supposed to, I don't think the Horizon games would have to muck with the tire grip as much to achieve the relatively "obedient" handling they're after. The key to getting an AWD to rotate is all off-throttle and braking.

To be on-topic...

Incredible that after a decade, one of the things I covered in my GT4 video remains a clear issue.

GT4...problem...a decade ago...wait, is this your video?

Having played GT4 and Enthusia around the same time, I remember watching this video when I was a kid.

Sorry for offtopic

Yep. :)

It was made as a visual aid for discussion here on GTP. Since YouTube was still in its infancy at the time, I didn't quite expect the modest amount of attention it attracted on its own.

This is serious - im getting bored of the beta with the current SRF effect. Just not fun. Then again i havent been able to race in few days due to the time table of 20-23 in finland - i have quite a lot more things to do at that time and the 22-23 at bluemoon bay is not of any interest. Qualifying with Gr. 4 GT-R + SRF is really getting old.

The beta seriously needs changes if they intend to keep it interesting. Cant see why they wont extend the hours as they have done few times. 18-24 cet would be sufficient.

Try to use a different car. All I do is hotlap since there are never any races during my play times. This is a beta to test out the things they want to test, not a release, so we probably won't get anything different. I'm just happy we have what we have.

i'm a hot lapper myself most of the time. i like to beat, or get close to, the times of my buddies in my FL. and when i set a new best in my personal fl its so rewarding! :D alright, i did it only ones but i was so proud (BM speedway: 41.849)!

Updated yesterday to 1.05, drove 42km, which was longest 42km of my history of driving GT series game.. Evora got Ebola..

..today updated AC 1.14 and I found 1.04 Evora there and enjoyed driving several hours.

This makes me wonder, AC updates physics engine to give more realism and they end up a car handling like it was on GTS... Who's going on wrong direction? LOL

Hot lapping...ugh at least we have ghost. I don't see what it would hurt to have 24/7 sport mode times? They have 2 months of server data and if they really want to stress them out open up the pond and Aus/Asia. Go or blow dammit.

well my opinion is they are worlds apart . ones seems like driving a car the other is driving a game . you decide which is which lol

You're wasting your time ;)
Let's not forget, he can hear sound through an imaginary 1km thick diamond because diamonds are soft. Now that's some physics!!

I thought you returned AC after 1 hour because the game sucked.?
