Only obvious "bug" here is the constant freezing at load screens. :banghead:
Happened this morning in discovery section, where all new logos had the loading circle indicator flashing....tried to back out of the screen only to be left with the big loading circle flashing down bottom of the screen. Stayed like that for nearly 5 minutes until frustration had me disconnect the power. :(
Upon restart, the main screen loaded okay but as soon as I tried to start GTSport it would start, show the blurb at the beginning about the Ferrari stuff, then nothing.................nothing at all, just a black screen. This stayed for 5 minutes or more once again, the PS4 was quiet as hell, so I knew it was struggling. Again, forced a shutdown (power plug), restart.....same again. (corrupted safe data???)

Eventually got the PS4 to start okay after it did it's data check, tried to load GT only to be told it needs to be UPDATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, so now it's downloading update 1.31 AGAIN! 71 hours to go......see you all next month maybe............. :banghead: :(

EDIT! So the game console has had a good rest, cool down period. When I saw it had over 70 hours to complete the download I bailed on it. :(
Rebooted the whole system again this arvo, load screen (PS4) come on fine. GTSport is now the ONLY game on my load screen, all others were deleted.
Tried to load the game from said screen and got the message; You need to update this application to use it, or something along those words....
This 1.31 update it is trying to force on me is 38.5GB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :boggled:
From what I could find online, the last update was approx 2.88GB, so why would it be forcing such a huge update for me?????????????

I dont know what to say about your update size but when GTS freezes on me while loading I just press the Playstation button then go to "close application" then all the game does is restart, I never turn it off during a loading freeze.

Aye, yes, exactly. In passed freeze episodes I have done just that.
But this morning was like it froze the whole thing, console and game. Pressing the PS button did nothing. :( That's what kicked my short fuse. lol
I still have this massive download paused, thinking something really strange is going on.
Might just delete the whole game and do a reload? :indiff:

Yeh, you always get that nervous feeling when you pull the plug on a device like a PlayStation, because we all know it's not the best thing to do.
For future reference, if the controller is not responding and you can't access the console main menu to close the App., try pressing and holding the power button on the front of the console.
Keep it held for a reasonable amount of time (say 20 to 30 seconds) and see if it will shut down.
It quite often works.

Just out of curiosity, disc or digital?

Anyway, as for your current situation, this is what I would do.
Seeing as the console is currently switched on, cancel the download.
On the main menu highlight GT Sport and press the Options button on the controller.
"Update History" will tell you what version you currently have, just so you know where you're at.

Then I'ld switch off the internet connection: Settings > Network.
Then I'ld switch off any automatic download function: Settings > System.
Then I'ld fully switch of the PS4 (not Restmode): Power > Power Options.

Power cycle the PS4 by unplugging it and wait for a few mins before plugging it back in, but don't power on the console.
Instead, hit Safemode.
https://support.playstation.com/s/article/Safe-Mode-PS4?language=en_US
Option 5 - Rebuild Database.

Now start console as per usual.
Back into Settings > Network and switch on internet again.
Then redo "Setup Internet Connection" and test.

Highlight GT Sport, press Options button and see what version it says, then "Check for updates".

Good luck.

Cheers Tassie_tiger.
Yes, tried holding the console power button too, pretty sure it was even longer than 20-30 seconds. :(
Is is digital too by the way.

I shall run through your suggestion list and see how it goes. Wish me some luck, I could use it. lol :cheers:

Edit; Good news and bad....Rebuilt in no time because GT is the only game loaded on the console. Checked the status after reconnecting and setting the internet again.
Now shows that I am on version 1.31. 👍

Buuuuuuuut....................It appears that my profile is what has been corrupted. :(
Error code NP360065 and it says to delete the user and start a new profile. :(
Will try that tomorrow.....

Some of it is perhaps a little unnecessary, like switching off the internet and auto-downloads, and redoing the connection settings.
But if it was me, after rebuilding the database, when I switch it back on I would prefer it if the console didn't start doing stuff before I was happy for it to begin.

If that process didn't work I would be a sad panda.
There's little else to try that I can think of beyond deleting the game and trying a fresh install.

*Edit*
@Stumps_GTI
Ouch.
Profile Trophy error.

Official notes:
NP-36006-5
① Back up the save data.
If you use PS Plus you can use online storage.
If you are not using PS Plus, please backup with USB device .
② After deleting the user by going to [Settings]> [User]> [Delete User], create a new user and sign in with the corresponding account.
③ Please transfer the data to the newly created user.
If an error occurs in the above procedure and it fails, please go to [Settings]> [Initialize]> [Initialize PS4].
If it does not improve even if you perform [Initialize PS4] , start up in safe mode and carry out item No. 7.

Steps 1 - 3 might be okay, but initialising is pretty drastic.
Avoid at all costs.

Try the trophy delete trick first.

@Tassie_tiger , back in the game. :)

Tried the trophy delete trick and the game just loaded okay. 👍
Had an issue with some corrupted game data which it could not restore, uploaded to the cloud, restrted the game and it asked if the uploaded data wanted to be used, clicked OK and it started up alright......Fingers crossed.

👍👍👍👍👍

You are a LEGEND @Tassie_tiger , it has run faultlessly all day, been back designing liveries. :)
True test will be in the morning when I fire it back up....so long as all the auto-saves it did today weren't corrupt, it should be good. :)
I'm amazed that trophy delete trick worked so good, but oh so pleased at the same time. lol

So yes mate, hope to see you on track some time, I'm still brushing up on my skills to attack online.... :nervous:
Cheers

Okay... I'm new to GT Sport (Got the Metal case edition with a thrustmaster T150 at Christmas) and after getting several gift cars, a Group 3 corvette, the AMG Safety Car, and a few others, my game crashed and then just decided to tell me I don't own any of them. It does still show my 15 wraps, my special colors, rims, etc. Has this happened to anyone else? Idk what to do and I'd really like my cars back lol.

The chase cam settings still reset everytime I launch the game.

I hate the default chase cam, I don't know why it stays fixed on the rear of the car instead of the center, but every damn time I close and reopen the game I have to go into the advanced settings ad set both sliders at 0 again.

I did a quick race on SSRX at twilight and I noticed that an AI's headlights were flickering in a bit of a strange fashion. Not sure if it's a bug or not, but I'll try to replicate it later today.

Hi!

For the last few days I've been having this issue where I have to race daily-races alone. By this I mean the following:
1) I load into the race fine: I see everyone's connection (4, 5 bars etc.)
2) When I enter the track, everyone's connection status becomes black
3) When the race starts, all other cars stand still and I have to race alone
4) When the race finishes, I get a placing depending on my finishing time compared to the other players in the race, so I'm not completely disconnecting (I can even see when they cross the finish line).

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I've reinstalled the game, tried with a Ethernet cable but to no avail. My NAT type is and has always been 2. I'm at a complete loss here...

Thanks!

Its not the worst thing in the world, being alone you are just hot lapping and you dont have to worry about SR deductions from people who feel they must pass you L1 T1. You could probably build your DR up pretty good this way too.

For sure, but it's not as fun...online races is what I enjoy the most!

So youre the guy who's spazzing all over the track to the rest of us. but you think youre just driving normally. to everyone else youre an unpredictable missle traveling at warp 17 straight into the danger zone.

You can’t use DLC purchased from the Canadian store... Says acquired but it shows 0 items available...

Playing 4 top10 replays in a row results in a crash (obvious memory management issues, lamers)
The same happens when watching 2 replays then starting the race.
Shame on you.

Simple miss:
The "Replay Option" "Display Race Info" should be persistent (over restarting) but it is not. Every time I need to toggle it again to "Display All". Quite annoying.

- Mirrors are bugged at Route X. Two examples given. Dodge Charger and McLaren F1.

- McLaren F1 struggles to do above 215mph with default settings at Route X. By comparison, it can reach 230+ mph at the Mulsanne Straight.

- The P1 GTR is inexplicably throttled right before turn one at Route X, where it cannot go faster than 248mph. Driving the track in reverse it continues without hinderance. It will reach a top speed of 269/270mph and stay.

- Veyron engine texture is flat or 2D when driving. It suddenly becomes 3D when paused. It was always 3D before 1.32.

- Recently added BMW Z8 is poorly modeled given Polyphony's quality standards. I purchased this car and took it to scapes mode. There are lots of places you can clearly see the polygons. The example included in this video is of the grill corners. For comparison, I show two different M3's that have rounded out, smooth corners. This was noticed instantly when viewing the car for the first time.

Can you provide the Mulsanne thing in a separate video?

I'm not sure why it's doing this, but that part of the track looks ever so slightly uphill. Try turning the TCS off and see what happens?

Yeah, I can when I get the chance to sit down again.

Doesn't explain why. If you watch before the bend, the speed tanks rather fast. Then after the bend, it struggles to pick back up before the speed took a dive. It just stagnates. I did try with TCS off and TCS 1. No difference.

There might be something else at play, since I haven't seen the issue with either the Zagato VGT or a Ford GT so far. I'll grind for the P1 GTR and see if I can't replicate the issue.

I’ve got same thing but purchased in American store
I've seen a few of these reports.

My suggestion would be to get in touch in your regional PlayStation Support, because I suspect it's more a PS Store problem than a GT Sport software problem. (I may be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me)
Chances are it's a known issue, but I would still advise to raise it with PS Support.

Centrelines for multiple vehicles in livery editor are around 3 degrees off the true centrelines of the cars, meaning creating symmetrical liveries is extraordinarily difficult.
