GT Sport Closed Beta Updated to v1.05

You can remove it but it removes the vast majority of the HUD elements as well.

Yep, it's all or nothing. At this point I'll take nothing rather than have the distracting brake, gear, and rev limiter icons flashing at me. I'm a cockpit driver anyway.

I've only tried it on the DS4 controller so far and feedback is improved a bit. Physics also show a slight improvement but grip is still either on or off. There's very little feeling of approaching realism at the limit. Sounds have a slightly louder exhaust but that still sounds like Kaz farting into a milk bottle.

Post of the Year candidate right there:tup:👍:sly:

I would like to see PD return to GT5/6 custom controller options.

Example: I had a DS3 pad with a broken X button converted into an ebrake for my wheel. I connected a spring to the R3 stick and connected this to an old flightstick I had laying around; pulling back R3 (default set up as brake) could be set as every single input-command one desired, in my case I had handbrake selected for my R3 button. It worked flawlessly.

L3 & R3 are limited now, there are only a few commands that can be assigned to these sticks now.

A friend of mine used a custom setup on his DS3-pad to play/drive in GT and he won't be able to use his button-layout either now.

He used R1/R2 for shifting. L2 for braking & R3 for throttle. He won't be able to make that custom layout.

I'm downloading the update right now. Is there any new cars, tracks, or any other significant changes I should know about in the update? I already know there's a huge physics and force feedback overhaul as well as changes to the SR system.

no new cars or tracks as of yet

Race schedule 3-20 UTC. Why am I not seeing this in the beta?

I still have the same races as before the update.

19:00 - 20:00 - 21:00

Replay mode is bugged. Can't see the options to exit, fastforward, rewind, etc. And when you try to change camera views with up/down on the d-pad, it keeps bringing up your username/position UI which gets annoying.

Here's a change I haven't read on the forums yet, ingame sound effects have changed dramatically.

I turned off music ingame & on track on day 1 (of the EU beta).

After today's update, when driving with bonnet-view, the sound has changed dramatically. I can barely hear my engine noise compared to before the update. Wind-sound FX has been added or seriously increased in volume. After doing the brands hatch Indy race I also noticed my opponents engine/muffler sounded louder than my own. It was hard to distinguish my own engine sound - it doesn't sound loud enough to me (I tend to shift on engine sound rather than watching my revs lol).

Nothern Isle Speedway is empty, it's normal ?
I've only raced this once - the track is way to short for me to enjoy it on a wheel - I've heard more people dislike it.

I'd drive/race it if we were given nascars or if the race would have rolling starts. Those standing starts are mental with the group 3 cars.

no, that difference is only on a certain number of cars and the difference is not only in lighting but in shaders and some poligonal details too
Then it's a mix of both and part of what I mentioned still stands: there is a general increase in the exposure, which can be seen on the elements outside the car (they're all brighter as well). This is visible in both the in-game and studio cockpit shots.

Just had a quick go in qualifying using the pad and I think the Genesis group 4 feels sharper, reacts better. Sound is better too, seems to be more tyre noise?

Agree the brake thing is a bit annoying, surely they will add the ability to turn that off in the full game.

I noticed when using the outside car view, you can no longer spin the camera around. It wasn't smooth so maybe that's why it was removed? The other views however, the camera spins butter smooth.

They also added the 'Options' menu when you pause the game. Some new blips and bleeps I think were added for records/time.

For the brake thing, why don't they do what Forza does, add the brake line indicators onto the road (if you choose to have it)?

Also, does it look like textures or something is loading in front of you or just a bit ahead of you? It's so in plain view, it's hard to ignore, I hope they patch that sometime soon.

With this update, gotta say I'm glad to have grip again. I raced the GTR GT3 last night, and got a hard fought 3rd place finish with 1st and 2nd going to a Corvette and FT1. Today, I raced the once dreadful M6 GT3 and fought an AMG GT3 for 3rd place. I managed to psych the AMG driver at the turn before the Monaco-like chicane at Dragon Trail as he went for the inside at the straight. I went into his slipstream, and before the braking point, immediately went to the outside to get as much speed I could get through the corner. This trick paid off and got a hard fought podium again. I really can't wait to see what the full release brings us!

EDIT: Wording
