Oh the memories! I used to play Stunt Car Racer back in the day! Trying to get to the finish with the damage bar just too far across so you know you are not going to make it but you try anyway. This thread is great, I'm a sheep in China, just turned 38, happy birthday to me (and @Tired Tyres !).
First racing game was probably Stunt Car Racer. If you showed me GTS back then, I would've fainted, or cried, or both.
Can't wait for the racing games in 20yrs time!
Hello fellow finn. Nice poll! I'm 42 years young.![]()

Fantastic game, part of the skill was negotiating the frame rate of 1fps![]()
Thought I was one of the elders here when I saw the upper limit on your age choices stopped at 50. I'm 63 and after seeing others with a few years on me no longer ashamed to admit my immature faults. Hey, I'm retired. What else have I got to do besides change my hearing aid batteries?

Phhffffft! On my Amiga it ran perfectly! It just those other peasant versions![]()
I played it on my Amiga A500. It was outstanding.
Due to problems with claims of age discrimination I believe that GTS is now going to include a license test especially for those over the age of 77. You have to pass it regularly to see if you're still fit to play. The trick is in remembering to take it.I turn 78 on the day GTS releases so it's a no go for me I guess.
Hearing aids - Do you have the standard or the pro models? What else have I got to do besides change my hearing aid batteries?
I'm 62 and, like @ROCKET JOE it was my son that got me into Gran Turismo - he hasn't played it for a long time since I took over!
I could never do the big jump with the stem in the middle, I either hit it or flew extremely over it. Hard Driving came after that followed by 4D Sports driving.Stunt car racer.

You just caused a smile to cross my face.
My we've come light years from the Atari days.
Next time I see a physics or hear a graphics complaint this picture will be the reply.
Nice similarity, b_t.
The PS2 was a family Christmas present in 2006, I'd never played any video games before ( except Tetris and Super Mario, ok ... ). Each 'boy' got the go from the misses to pick one additional game. BLIZZ chose 'Moorhuhn Kart', FURY 'F1 2006' and me 'GT4', without having any clue of course. We played 'Moorhuhn Kart' for three months until FURY started said dialog... the rest is history
!
I started with GT4 in 2006 too...Nice similarity, b_t.

Ah, those were the days!Similar story here, except it was a PS3 and GT5. I'd never played a video game before but got completely hooked. I'm beginning to feel like a youngster at only 60. All we had in my day was Scalextric and go-karts made from old prams and lawnmowers.

How was your performance? (mine was terrible...).
I'm 25. My first racing game was Top Gear for SNES. NFS on PC was next. I like tea. My hobbies are. . .
Just a boy, Praiano...54 .
