Final Hamilton TT update:
Today, after another 84 miles on the Nürburgring GP track I've been able to win the Gold trophy:
My lap time was a respectable 1:56.408
The game has increased my credit limit to 100 million
And the game awarded me 20 million for getting all Golds
And the game gave me Hamilton's Mercedes AMG F1 W08 '17 car:
In total, I probably had to drive (over three days) about 400 miles on the Nürburgring GP track before being fast enough to beat the Gold time.
I struggle with turn one, so I aborted many/many/many laps after blowing turn one.
For settings, I used BB = 0, and no TC, I used the 3rd gear for the final corner because otherwise I always seemed to get too much wheelspin on the exit from that corner which would lose me a much needed tenth! I guess I could try TC1 for this final corner (and drop down into 2nd gear) and see what difference it would make.
Additional information:
On my second game, I've run a bunch of laps on this track and found another way to get thru turn one with decent speed. You can use TC=2 thru turn one as you shift down into 2nd gear (instead of 1st gear), and then immediately turn the TC off before turn two, and leave it off for the rest of the lap. I also found that with better throttle management, you don't need to use 3rd gear for the final corner, but can drop down into 2nd gear if you are reasonably gentle with your throttle application as you try to accelerate up the final straight.
Using the TC=2 for just the first turn, I essentially matched my previous Gold lap time with a 1:56.412 as you can see below:
All and all, this Hamilton Time Trial is quite a challenge!
Good luck to every Geezer that tries this:tup:
