Hey Bat man. Sorry I left so quick last week. I had 9 teeth pulled that day was starting to get a head ach. yeturday had bone removed from my lower jaw and next week I get the rest of my teeth pulled. 🤬 Happy false teeth to me. I'm going to sit out till after the new year. Hope all you Geezers have a great xmas & new year.

Anyone get the Hamilton DLC? Impressions?

I’m away at the moment, but looking forward to diving into the challenge when I return.

They are certainly a challenge!!:eek::boggled:
And I'm only talking about the Gold times!

So far, I have Gold on five of them: Monza, Interlagos, Dragon Trail Seaside, Lake Maggiore, Brands Hatch, and Silver on the other five (Suzuka, Mt Panorama, Nürburgring GP, Big Willow, Nordschleife).

If you are looking for some speed, try the Sauber C9 on the Nordschleife…...:nervous:
I still need to find 1.2 seconds there and I'm already driving faster than I can handle safely!!:ill:

Hamilton TT update:
Another 80 miles and I've now been able to take Gold at Suzuka with a time of 1:59.955!!!:):):)

Finding the last 1/4 second was tough:banghead::ill:, the Mercedes AMG GT3 '16 that we are driving likes to understeer thru all the corners, so I'm finding it tough to keep anywhere near Hamilton as the lap progresses. I eventually settled on BB of +3 (to the rear), and no TC except at the hairpin.
I think it might be better if the BB was reduced to +2 or +1 for the final chicane but I didn't get a chance to play with this since I was still concentrating on getting my racing lines/braking points correct.
Hamilton's Diamond time is another 1.5 seconds quicker, so I have no expectations of getting near it.:(

Good luck everyone!

I've had it for 3 days now and am thoroughly enjoying it. Reminds me of the earlier editions of GT wherein we could not GOLD an event in the first go round. In fact I see myself needing to play each event many, many, many times to get the coveted GOLD with DIAMOND most likely being ompletely out of my league,, but that's OK,, I'm gonne be proud of myself IF I ever get that GOLD! In a few words,, it's the best $8 I've EVER spent for any driving game and makes me look forward to firing up the ol PS each and every day,, giving a few events a try to see if I can gain just a few tenths is GOOD FUN!

Hamilton TT update:
Another 100 miles at Big Willow and I was able to win the Gold trophy with lap times of 1:11.923 and 1:11.937 on the two games that I'm currently running::):)

Yesterday, I probably ran about 100 miles at Big Willow as my lap times edged closer to the Gold time of 1:12 flat.
Yesterday, I was running laps around 1:12.5 so I found about half a second during today's 100 mile stint.
Hamilton's time at this track is very fast:bowdown:, so I don't have any hope of catching him even if I drove for another 200-300 miles!:ill::(
I tried lots of BB settings to help me with the Mercedes which understeers like crazy!:yuck:
I finally settled on a BB of +4 (to the rear).
I start the lap with the TC off, and then turn it up to 1 as I go thru T3 and T4, and then turn off the TC just before T5 and keep it off for the rest of the lap.
Hamilton takes the last corner really well, so I would usually lose 0.1 - 0.2 seconds going thru it no matter what line I chose.:grumpy:
Good luck everyone!

For me. I think it’s the timer of being ahead or behind Hamilton that screws me up. Makes me try to hard. lol but it’s a lot of fun tho and can only make you better.

Hamilton TT update:
After another 75 miles on the Nordschleife with the Sauber C9, I found another 1.7 seconds and I now have the Gold trophy with a time of 5:45.439!!!:):):)
I had previously probably run about 150-200 miles on the Ring during my previous efforts to catch Hamilton in this TT.:banghead:
Its good fun going 210+mph thru the Schwedenkreuz curve and doing 170mph going thru the Mutkurve/Klostertal section.:scared:

49178068828_1689e7de5e_k.jpg

The Sauber C9 is very fast, and takes some practice to keep it on the tarmac, but getting the Gold time isn't as hard as some of the other challenges since the game left quite a bit of time (for the alien drivers who are actually driving this track 10 seconds faster than Hamilton:bowdown:), so staying within sight of Hamilton's car is reasonably possible (for much of the early part of the track, anyway). I tried quite a few different BB and TC combinations, but eventually settled on a BB of 0 (neutral) and no TC. I was also almost never shifting down into 2nd gear, but would instead use 3rd gear to accelerate out of the corners. I would sometimes shift down into 2nd gear entering a corner to help slow down the Sauber C9 but would shift back into 3rd gear before the corner exit to eliminate the wheelspin on corner exits.

For me. I think it’s the timer of being ahead or behind Hamilton that screws me up. Makes me try to hard. lol but it’s a lot of fun tho and can only make you better.

Yeah, Hamilton's ghost has its good points and bad points.
I started with a 0.2 second offset, but as I learned the tracks I have reduced this to 0.1 second ahead. This allows me to be close behind Hamilton's ghost for the first few turns so I can watch his racing lines (until he pulls away:ill::(). I have turned off my own best lap ghost because it gets in the way and I don't really need to see my previous runs, but need to chase Hamilton as best as I can.
I have also mapped a button to Hamilton's ghost so it can be turned off if needed, but I generally run with it on thru the entire lap.

Good luck everyone!

This Hamilton TT reminds me of GT5 the Top Gear Challenge. That one I was really trying way to hard on. Took more than a half year to get Gold lol. After I learned to just flow thought it was pretty easy and got on the Big Board Times. On Big Willow I can +.100 up in the first section and better him by .200 in the last section. BUT the second section The Horseshoe is driving me . When I do get threw there with a close time to his I always screw up the last section which I find pretty easy as long as I hit the right hand turn right. And even if I don’t I only lose .200

Sounds like you are almost matching Hamilton's time at Big Willow!👍

What BB setting are you using?
Is everything else turned off?

Nice run partner, very nice. I appreciate the tips on BB 👍. I've been using 2 to the rear but today tried some experimenting to the front as well as further back which shows me it seems each track requires a little bit different settings. Re; changing TC mid lap is WOW! There's NO WAY I can be fiddling with my TC mid lap unless there's a substantial straight prior to or after a turn. I've a twin fisted death grip on the wheel, eyes fixated on the next corner,, to dare a break in concentration, or remove my left hand from the wheel to adjust the G29 red spinner would spell immediate disaster! :embarrassed:

Congrats partner,, this one is one me thinks I'll be hammering on for many, many months before - IF EVER - I snag that GOLD. Rite now trying to reduce the number of times Hamilton's ghost is "repositioned" is my quest. Bronze is mine at the moment with Silver still quite a ways down the road. Once I have eliminated at least 4 or 5 repositioning of his ghost I may, just may have that Silver!! Luv'n these Hamilton challenges, absolutely LUV'N 'EM!

Enjoyed watching Saturday's Geezer races streamed by Luiz, saw a lot of good racing .The Bluemoon Smackdown is great to watch online because I'm not the one getting beat around for a change . Thanks Luiz
It sure was a Great Time today. There only once that butts were mentioned by Cory. No talking about “Taints” like last Wednesday night. Come to conclusion that all of Wednesday nights talking about butts , taints, suntanning asshole, beaching your asshole etc. Must because of the Host- The Gentleman Host/Geezling from Oklahomo!

Hamilton TT update:
I drove another 250 miles on Mt Panorama today and was finally able to win the Gold trophy with a lap time of 2:02.907 which was just enough to win the Gold!!!:):):) I had previously put in about 500 miles at Mt Panorama in an effort to get the Gold but would repeatedly come up short when I would look at my time as I crossed the finish line, over and over and over again.:ill::grumpy::dopey:

49191367296_6f1d12d432_k.jpg

I tried all sorts of BB numbers and TC numbers and even tried using the weak counter-steer setting, but nothing seemed to help increase my speed since my track/car skills just seem to be lacking.:ill::yuck::banghead:
I can't count the number of times I had to re-start this Panorama time trial after blowing the first turn!!!:dopey::dopey::banghead::banghead:
All for just another tenth of a second!!!:ill::boggled:
Eventually, I settled on BB=0 (neutral) and no TC, except I put the TC on 1 for the final turn.
The traction control is not necessary for the final corner, however, three times I was on good laps and got excessive wheelspin coming out of the final corner and missed the Gold by a tenth of a second or so, so the next two laps I turned the TC on for just the final corner and the Gold was mine!!:)
Good luck everyone!
