Merry Christmas to all my Geezers and friends. And my enemies. No race tonight. Tomorrow night we will race. The Geezers post Christmas hangover 500. Start at Yamagiwa- Miyabi II. That’s reverse for our short bus folks. Using the GrX Super formula x 5 laps. RS. After that I don’t care what we run. Let’s have some fun. Room opens 6:30 central. Let’s hope John has electricity!! Later laddies....
Family have all departed back to their domiciles to resume their lives,, meanwhile this elder [albiet' a Geezer as we're known to the outsideworld] prepares himself to join those of you who will be joining our "Geezers post Christmas hangover 500" this eve. See ya there for the fun! "signed" Thankful we're permitted yet another wonderful Christmas with our families and friends and look forward to a fun filled 2020 playing GTSport with the Geezers and Friends!

Don’t bother with the you’ll shoot your eye out bit…

My son (Sam) and a friend were messing about with a BB pistol when he was about 14 years old and I had to take him to hospital after he managed to shoot himself in the eye with it. It was sore for a couple of weeks but luckily there was no permanent damage.

Kinda confusing as I can definitely remember being there at his birth but doing something so dumb must mean he's adopted. Weird huh?

After another six attempts, I'm now only one second behind Hamilton with the Sauber C9!:):):):boggled:

At the beginning of the lap, I have a very slight lead over Hamilton. I lose about 1 second in the middle of the lap, and then hold my own for the last third of the lap. I knew I had a good lap in progress when I was coming out of the Karussell because I was still just behind Hamilton, so I was just trying to stay calm and keep it together for the 2nd half of the lap!!:nervous:
Cheers!

Another 100 miles with the Sauber C9 and I'm now less than a tenth of a second behind Hamilton!!!!:):):):ill::ill::ill:
I was probably bumping Hamilton's Sauber as we crossed the finish line!

My lap was very good and I was staying with Hamilton's ghost throughout the entire lap and only lost a little time near the end when I took a couple of corners with less abandon than normally since I knew I was on such a good lap and didn't want to throw it away due to overdriving a corner.
Its crazy how fast the Sauber C9 is going thru some of the corners while I just hold on and hope for the best!!:nervous:

Good luck everyone!

My first Diamond Trophy!!!:):):)
It took me another 144 miles before I was finally able to just beat Hamilton with the Sauber C9 with my 5:40.546 lap!!!:):):)

I ran a great lap nearly the entire lap. I lost a little time just after the Karussell, but then made the time back on some of the subsequent corners and then just nipped Hamilton going thru the final chicane!!!:):)
I made a few small mistakes during the lap, but so does Hamilton, so it all evened out!:):)
Going this fast on the Ring is crazy! but great fun!!!

edit for settings info:
I am using BB=0 for entire lap
I am using TC for the following corners:
--- 1st left hander
--- Adenauer Forst
--- Wehrseifen
--- Karussell
--- Hohenrain esses
I am turning on the Traction Control just before the corner and turning it off just after these five corners.
I found it possible to win the Gold Trophy using TC=1 throughout the entire lap, and I also found it possible to win the Gold Trophy with the Counter steering on weak but with no TC. However, I found that the Sauber C9 goes faster if you have the TC turned off for as much as possible, and don't use any CS, so in order to win the Diamond Trophy I only used TC1/TC2 thru the five corners that I mention above. I eventually settled on setting Hamilton's ghost at 0.6 seconds ahead of me, so I can see him and chase him for the entire lap without overlapping him which is highly distracting.
Good luck everyone!

Fellas, during last Wednesday evening's Geezer races Scotty asked if I would host a - "MORNING",, New Years Day Geezer event on 01Jan, 2020. I told him I would. That said I'm thinking I'll open a lobby at 0830 Eastern / 0530 my time - Geezers & Friends WELCOME 2020! The races will be Mercedes. If you haven't yet got the "N" cars,, get 'em. I'll have to log in today, get the names correct and update this post with the car we'll start with.

** UPDATE: We will start with this really cool hotrod,, the N400 A45 AMG 4MATIC '13. I test drove it at Seaside (we'll start at this track for 6 laps) and found it ran real good with RH tires and changed the differential and trans to custom with no edits to gearing numbers. Next we'll use "the BEAST" N600 SLS AMG '10 on RH with default diff and trans,, next we'll use the N500 Mercedes-AMG GTS '15. After these N series we'll do some race cars at various tracks. Hope to see you there!
