Its been a while, but I was finally able to achieve another Diamond time (which is my 7th) in the Hamilton Time Trial Challenge:

At Brands Hatch, this morning I just ran a smoking 1:22.883 lap which edged out Hamilton's time by 8 hundredths of a second!!!:D:D:D

This lap was fast enough to currently put me on the top of my friend's list!:D

Two days ago I ran a 1:23.025 lap so I knew I was close to beating Hamilton's diamond time of 1:22.965, and then this morning I ran a 1:22.966 which was one-thousandth of second off Hamilton's time,:ill: so I knew I was there...........and then, after another 70 miles of trying,.................................. the 1:22.883 lap was mine!:D

I was using the manual gearbox, no traction control and a brake setting of BB+2
I tried both BB+1 and BB+3 quite a lot, but finally decided that BB+2 seemed to be the best for me. I probably drove about 1000 miles at this Brands Hatch TT.
The final right-hander was tough for me to get right. Especially since I get so little practice with it, since I only infrequently make it all the way there before abandoning the lap!!!:grumpy::dopey::(

Great fun!:)

Normally, on Saturday's, if there's wind, I like to be out on the water windsurfing, so finding the time for Geezer racing can be tough:(:D
Though right now a full wetsuit is required:

For the last week or so, I've been working on the Suzuka Hamilton TT, and have been making decent progress.:D
Yesterday, I threw down a 1:58.522 which puts me only 14 thousands behind Hamilton's Diamond time of 1:58.508, so after many miles I'm almost there, however, I'm also behind @nordschleife51 's time as well::drool::drool::drool:

And then today, after another 75 miles, the Diamond is mine!!!:D:D:D:):):)
After a smoking 1:58.476 lap!!!
So I now have 8 Diamond laps!

This lap now puts me atop my friends list:

All this came after many slightly slower laps as you can see from my replay listings:

50871787417_cd3759cb72_k.jpg

For my setups, I ran many different brake and TC combinations, but finally settled on using BB+1 throughout the entire lap. I'm using a manual gearbox and no TC. I found that a BB+2 setting was nearly as good if you use it for just the initial esses, however, even though the BB+2 setting helps you turn better than Hamilton, you also seem to get slightly slower acceleration, and I found that I was more often inconsistent when running the BB+2 setting. I ran about 750 miles over the last week in order to achieve this lap time. Previously, about nine months ago, I had probably run about 750 more miles in my first effort to get close to Hamilton's Diamond lap time.
Great fun!!

I ran Assetto Corsa 1 for the first time in a long while. It took about 50-60 tries in 'alien' mode before i could get a clean race, because, um, AI? Ugh. But, once I got them figured out enough to get a clean first lap, we were off to the races. I love the Mugello track. One of my favourites worldwide.

All the best to you Luiz, how is your wife? PLF
she got no virus. she had a apendicite crisis yesterday and she had to go on a surgery. she and I were tested, she was ok I was not so I could not stay with her. She is recovering and I think she will be good to go tomorrow. I am thinking in staying in the farm next days but if I get worse there is no help, so we are still thinking. Tomorrow I will open the room.

As Cory said,, don't really want to clip the 'LIKE' but just a recognition we've seen the post. Joining ALL others who are wishing your dear Wife all the best, a speedy recovery from the surgery AND that YOU do not get sick. Nasty and mean virus if it gets after your organs. See you in just a few [2] hours bud.
