Very cool and old school! Papa is faster than I'll ever be, Nordschleife51 too! I haven't bellied up to the bar & forked over the 5 Benjamins to get the wheel I want yet... I did stop by the Dollar store and pick up some rubber bands to work on making the wiggle stick steering have some resistance... That's all it needs.. Force Feedback rubber bands!!!
:sly::crazy::confused::lol::D

So I waited 20 yrs to pull the trigger on a decent rig to find out all I needed was some rubber bands??!!Well at least the cool “racing” seat gives my aging back and hips more support, so I suppose its worth it just for that!

Saturday race - I didn't get to work on a car for the event yet. I'm leaving work in a little while and will find something to use when I get home. I may not be able to host or participate tomorrow since my kids are in. Daughter leaves in the am tomorrow. I'll know more later this afternoon. I'm sure if I can't be there someone will be able to handle the setups. P.M.

Beautiful races on Saturday, very fought and fun! 👍
I bought and painted the car request, it also got a great success (15 like!). Even though it is very bad for me.
For the money I was kidding, I'm not in a hurry to buy La Ferrari. :D
I'm sorry I could not take part on Sunday after the F1, but I had to go out.
See you on the track !!!

The rubber band philosophy I had failed miserably! I wrapped one small one around the steering "wiggle stick", it became too hard to move!
Well, in the meantime, I purchased a Thrustmaster T300 RSGT on a black Friday deal for $299.00...that should do the trick.. I need you guys to input some ideas on a seat/wheelstand in the 300 dollar range!

What really makes the difference are the pedals, specially the break pedal. Did it came with the 3TPA set of pedals?

Yes! The RS GT has the better pedals... It arrives on the 30th which happens to be my birthday! Then I'll be one year away from a real "Geezer" lol
When are you 60 is it the 30th of December or November next year, because if it is you will qualify to be a geezer on the first of January 2018 but check with geezer 1791 first

@gear1420 I've got a Wheelstand pro which is pretty good and cheap. Don't know if they are available in the US.
Advantages - Solid, cheap, folds up easily if you need to get it out of the way.
Disadvantages - Centre pole. Fine if you just want to left-foot brake. Not so good if you want to go full-on pro, using the clutch and heel and toe. You need to provide your own chair.

If you've got the space and money the Playseat Revolution looks nice.

And yes, Geezer rules state you are eligible at the start of the year of your sixtieth birthday. So on Jan 1st I might no longer be the youngest Geezer.

Thanks for the tips. I've got to get started picking out the seat soon. I better get a seat/stand combo..
More ideas on a trucker's budget needed!

I just got an Open Wheeler. Many dont like center post design but I needed something sturdy, portable and reclined. The quality is excellent except the pedal platform does flex slightly so I added a wood support and its fine. 350. Predrilled for tm and fanatec. I would recommend it for its quality and relatively low price. I am 6”1’ and it has plenty of room. (Edit) The pedal platform only flexes bc I use a load cell brake and put a lot of leg into it. If u plan on using std brake it will not flex. Pretty sure it was designed > 7 yrs ago pre load cell.

I'm looking pretty diligently on a seat/stand combo I'm seeing really good models in the 300-500 range. Seems like the most important things for me are:

Sturdiness or rigidity
Adjustability of pedal platform
Fair price point
