No need to feel intimidated partner, we're not so serious we can't or won't help a fellow GTS player get up to speed in the game and like you, we're squeeky clean - or try to be as best we can. Our esteemed "Lead GZR" is "geezer1791", he'll see your note bud. We sorta prefer everyne be equipped with a headset as it sure makes things easier for communications. An inexpensive and absolutely works GR8 set from Sony can can be bought for under $20 (or alot more if a guy wants!) at Bestbuy if you don't already have a set. For this gme we have to log into the Party chat found in the PS menu to visit, THEN once in the GTSport game look st the top of the screen for "lobbys", click that then scroll to your left to find our Friends Only lobby. It's important that you're a "Friend" to join us.
Please see post #236 just a few above this one by "nordschleife51", he explains it purdy doggonned good. Anyway, we hope to see you out there partner, we DO have alot of fun and usually get 4 or 5 fun races in before our eyes are kaput, shoulders hurt, or any number of other "old folk" issues bring our GZR racing for that day to a close.

Wow,, that was quick bud,, I'm in the Seattle area,, there should be 2 ports on the front of your PS4 pard,, I have my headset in one and my wheel in the other.. The Sat morning racing is early for we West Coasters,, but das OK 'cause most of us don't sleep worth a daymn anyway. We'll be looking for ya

Welcome oldphart, just for the record will you please state that you are 60 years old or older.
As for the headset, if it has a USB connector it plugs into the PS4, if it has a 3.5 mm connector it plugs into your DS Controller, hope that helps.

Tomorrow I hope to be present at the races and try again to use the small Sony headset. The problem is that, in addition to understanding little of mine, when an engine starts up, I can only hear that. At least I will try to greet you, with some simple speech before setting in motion the car and above all not to mistake the tires, as I did last week

CAL, you can adjust that in the game options or in the PS setup. I had the same problem, not anymore.

Saturday race will be a group 4 race. We'll decide the car around 8:30 am Eastern time. Winner chooses the first track. After that last place chooses the next track, then winner, then last place. Cars are untuned - default setup sheet.

While I appreciate the offer, my intent was to "look over someone's shoulder" type of thing. I'm not sure of my abilities.
I've only done a few races in Sport. Didn't qualify so I could start at the back. Stayed out of the way. So, not sure about driving. Why put everyone else at risk ?

Hi JR, honestly, you won't put anyone at risk bud, just join in and you'll see. As for brake balance, yes, we do adjust the brakes as well as steering,, those items in the 'driver options' typically we can adjust. Default for everything else unless we may happen to be using a particulr car that may need an upgraded tranmission but that hasn't been an issue but maybe once or twice and the host - peppermallard - will determine if it's necessary.

First off - you guys are a patient bunch - thank you for that

Next, headsets - I'm sure you aren't the only ones around that offer their usage. I think a budget of $100 ish ? Heard some one mention an adjustable mic so as to be heard above the engine noise. Hadn't thought about that. Can't hear squat out of the left ear, and the right only pays attention half the time.

When I got the first message I was at Suzuka, in 6th, in the middle of the left hand kink, just coming off the knife edge - waiting for the car to settle
Ah me lads, the wipe out was splendid. One of those "ahem, do we have your attention ? " moments.

For the immediate future, assume I know nothing of this world. I put aside my wheel in '08. Waiting for the tech to get to this level, at this price range. The offer of the room confused me. What room ? Where ? I kept clicking on the notices. Took me a min to think about the lobby. Yup - I'm that new.

So, some finger pointing into headsets, I do plan on looking, but a word from those that do is often better than those that just write about it.

I'm off work next week so I was wondering at some point, when you're not playing, could you set up a room and let me know so I can try to join. Likewise, I’m sorry you had difficulties, it is very frustrating indeed. Be happy to get together in a room this week to try to sort it out. Will be on just about every morning this week, so let me know what works best for you. Most days I am on by 5 AM ET.

Thanks. I'm going to start a thread asking for help. Despite writing software for a living I'm almost completely ignorant when it comes to IT/networking stuff. To be honest I find it really boring and we have people at work to sort out that kind of thing so I don't have to. Maybe there will be some experts here who can come up with some suggestions.

I've had this problem before. As far as I know I don't have a block set up and I've received and accepted FRs in the last couple of days. I'll send you one later. The wonders of modern technology.
