Nice to see some colour blending/gradient applications.

Still though, I don't believe I've seen any evidence that we can make vinyl shapes in different finishes other than standard flat colour. I hope we can.

Yes you can set body panels in metals and other finishes and then overlay the vinyls to create almost the same result. But it would be a real pain if all you wanted was a sparse application of metallics or chrome and had to cover most of the car in flat coloured shapes just to do it.

Is this what you're talking about?

^ I think @GPR was talking about the opposite. Having a solid paint car and add chrome shapes (like a single/simple line work), for example.

It seems the media outlets sent images of their logos before going into the studio.

So an Image import option could still yet be on the cards (although I doubt it).

@RaY29rus Oh I see, I totally missed that on there. Nice spot. Well that could be what I'm after we just can't see what options are in there.

Hey guys, I was able to ask a journalist a few questions about the livery editor. He was one of the journalists joining the PD-press event last week.

1. Is there a way to import new own decals into the livery editor?
- Yes, there will be a way to do this - you'll need to use an official website or mobile app

2. How rich is the livery editor, like which color types (matte, gloss, chrome...etc) can you choose?
- It's actuallly very rich, you can choose between multiple colors, finishes (matte, gloss etc. as you've said), alu rims etc. The color palette is almost infinite

ok, so the second question was almost clear but the first one is the confirmation that we can put our own decals into the game!!!!

Nice questions bro. Also if you meet another Journalist, ask them if you can use livery editor offline.

Nice job 👍 Btw can you show us the evidence? At least a screenshot of the conversation (you can censored the journalist name if you want to).

Also, can you ask other stuff like DLC or is there going to be increase in cars and tracks number? Thanks.

No problem, actually I asked him about DLCs but didn't show it here, because it's the Livery Editor Thread.

here is the conversation:

Alright thanks! 👍 Livery editor is shaping much better than the expected. Myself would enjoy it since I like doing mods and customization on racing games, well maybe because I too much played NFS Pro Street back then .

I'm glad I'm not the only one who really enjoyed the livery editor of NFS Pro Street. Also, does somebody planning to recreate liveries from NFS Pro Street in GTS? Okay, I know, this sounds crazy.

I don't plan to myself but i know someone's gonna probably remake Ryo :D

Do we know how far away liveries can be rendered? I know that at long distances, cars will be replaced by their Low-Object-Detail models. It might look strange on the Nurburgring straight if a car ahead is gradually losing color and detail, layer by layer.

Also, can liveries be seen in rear-view mirrors? I remember in GT5/GT6, cars would often look very strange in the mirror because their fully detailed models weren't used.

^ I'm not optimistic regarding the rendering of liveries in the rear-view mirrors. On your first point, I have no idea ^^ maybe that's something we'll have to wait and see by ourselves. PS4 Pro will certainly have sharper renderings far away... but that's just me speculating.

I don't see any reason custom liveries wouldn't appear in the distance/rearview. That'd be a conscious decision by PD.

Just to clarify, when I say I'm not optimistic about the rear-view mirrors rendiring liveries I'm talking about rendering them in a decent way where you can, for example, read what's written in the bumper of the car behind. :D

That's some good news if this comes to be. Looking forward to more in-depth videos, if that's the case.

Nice work with getting some info. This is sounding really great. The livery editor we just about always wanted in GT, finally. 👍

And the best part is (assuming this is all true), it seems way better then what we asked for.
