I first logged into this site using my Google account but for some reason today I couldn't login using it. I kept getting a "Error 400: redirect_uri_mismatch" and a message saying my credentials don't match. I'm not sure why as I haven't changed anything: I'm using the same computer and I haven't rebooted or cleared my cache or anything I could think would trigger the error. I tried troubleshooting but couldn't find much to remedy it, so I created a new account so I could reply to GTP_Guido. I didn't realise it would be an issue. My apologies. You're only allowed one account here. What's wrong with your other one?
There was a site update this morning so it could have been related to that. Try and log in using your original account, and I'll see if I can merge the 2 accounts.I first logged into this site using my Google account but for some reason today I couldn't login using it. I'm using Inkscape as well. There are tutorials to scan images into vectors (like these in another thread):thank you very much! @Maninashed suggested I try Inkscape. I downloaded it but all I figured out was how to import an image to it. What are you using?
It takes a fair bit of time to make decals with lots of lettering, gradients and a picture as well. They don't always get made. Please can someone help with this?
Sorry I was thinking it was overseen. Thank you very much.It takes a fair bit of time to make decals with lots of lettering, gradients and a picture as well. They don't always get made.
However had a few sessions at it so here it is.
I believe he uses Inkscape just like most of us, but the most important part is the time he is willing to spend creating them, and the considerable skill he employs in doing so.Which software do you use to create this stunning decals? @Maninashed
Thank you, I'm going to test InkscapeI believe he uses Inkscape just like most of us, but the most important part is the time he is willing to spend creating them, and the considerable skill he employs in doing so.
The time part is the thing that most don't seem to understand. That decal was probably a good few hours of work. Folk seem to think that it's just a case of converting, and sometimes with the basic logos, it is. However, something like that shield would have to be traced by hand and basically recreated from a blank page.
I don't think some folk appreciate @Maninashed, and other decal creators, as much as they should and we are really lucky to have them.
I appreciate this is a wee bit of a rant but it is not aimed at you.
It is a steep learning curve but it is ideal for what we need.Thank you, I'm going to test Inkscape
I know this one is a little more complicated.. even a simplified version of this would be nice, any help is appreciated
Hey all, was just after the #26 and #25. Thanks!
He also dragged me along, untill i finally knew what i was doing.I believe he uses Inkscape just like most of us, but the most important part is the time he is willing to spend creating them, and the considerable skill he employs in doing so.

This was available as a vector file in .ai format from Seeklogo. These can be opened in Inkscape. It was 1299 nodes. With all the paths combined and running it through SVGOMG at precision zero it's a bit messy but under 15kb. Part of a chain link seems to be missing, even in the original.Have a question for the resident Inkscape boffins. Quite fancy having a go at this...
Logo & a template logo. Have the logo split into 3 separate SVGs using other programs & online compressors, not ideal & I'm not inclined to share such sloppy work.
My question is, could this be done in Inkscape within the 15KBs limit? Looks like a lot of work if it can & I'm wondering if it's worth my while pulling my socks up & getting to know Inkscape a great deal better than my current experience.
Thanks.
