Got another request, @daan @MatskiMonk both of you helped me out last time.

I'm trying to do a new technique on a livery and was wondering if anyone could help out making transparent images/ so the image is viewed from the base color of the car versus being viewed from the decal color.

I'm looking for a GTPlanet decal alone along with the GTP globe being alone.

Along with that three previous decals that were made for me of the RUSEFI decal, th Impetus decal and Miata13b decal.

I would really love to have these made if someone could help me out. Thanks :-)

You mean this kind of thing ... But with the GTP logos?

My brain can't process this. How does this work please! :-/

In simple terms, draw up the shape as normal, then draw a box around it... subtract the shape layer from the box layer and it leaves you with a stencil effect. Depending on a few crunchy little details it'll either work first time, or it'll just show up as a black square... it depends on your graphics app. Corel is bad at it, but I have a 100% effective work around, so it just takes a little bit longer to draw. You can also get into editing the fill-rules in the XML... good luck with that :D. It can get a little more complex when you try and put other shapes within the stencil, and even more so when there are cut outs within that.

Obviously then you just apply it as normal, and it'll show what ever is underneath - be it a special paint finish or another decal.

Ok, but then how do you hide the dark stencil surround when applying to the car?

You don't, this isn't a technique for turning a decal into a special paint finish. You colour the decal to be the same as what you want the car body to be, it literally just masks off an area to make it look like the decal is special paint.

Great mate! Thans Again!

I don't know if anyone can help, but i've been trying to get this Terlingua crest down to the 15kb limit. The lowest i can get is 20kb, but the old version of Illustrator i have here at work doesn't have many options for reducing down vectors effectively and my Mac is down at home awaiting a fix. i even recreated the logo in Quark to simplify and reduce the path point count, but still couldn't get below 20kb :irked:

Terlingua @BrandsoftheWorld

I can't use eps files but displaying it and saving it as a PNG using an eps viewer, then putting it into Vectormagic, then OMGSVG brought it down to 19kb, so with a bit of fettling in Inkscape that should be doable.

I'll give it a go tonight.

@TheCracker - Perhaps @daan can do better, but this is to precision level 1 which most of the time produces bad results. Give it a go.

Hi again, I was very satisfied with my last decal so I'd like to request another.

Once again, I am more than happy to do the uploading. Cheers :)

Could someone create or know of a Livery for one of the Mclaren 650S GT3s in the Bathurst 12 hour this weekend?

Can someone with better skills than I make the RTR logo that resides on the rear wing endplate?

If you are planning to do this car, I strongly suggest that tou start with a fluo red base then cover it with white. Most of the online versions are built the other way round. It may take a little more time and patience, but the results would be worth it.

That was actually how I was planning on doing it.

I absolutely love that this is being done :-).

Once your finished could you make a second livery with Klienubing, Galati and Cunningham instead of what you have there? I grew up watching the RTR guys race in the 90's and was a huge fan of them.

If you want to PM me a picture of the exact car I will try my best. I’ve got a few other projects in the works right now
