It's nice to have a mixture of cars from different categories in a race but if only there were more cars on the track..
LM teams compete for the LMP1 trophy, GT3 teams compete for the gold trophy, etc.
I've played the ( 24 minutes of Le Mans ) in GT6 & there are different categories in this race from LMGT to LMP1 cars. As if PD are trying to bring the 24h of Le Mans race to life but they can't because there are only 16 cars on track.

Don't forget this...

Hopefully, with GT sport coming THIS YEAR, and PD and FIA's partnership (with their relationship with the Automobile club l'quest), we can see something like this...

Just saying...

Pretty sure PD already bypassed this in GT6 so they don't need the FIA to do it for GT Sport.

GT isn't only about cars rather than showing the history of motorsports.. Each time I play it I think that I'm watching National Geographic .
GT6 is a pretty good game but with the new rival Asseto Corsa (which will be coming to ps4) PD must push hard to keep GT up in front. Hope that GT7 contain more detailed cars because the standard cars thing is quite weird for a game which will be published on ps4 ...

I think the general consensus is that Standards have been ditched (thank goodness), thanks to a Facebook message someone posted from the official GT page saying all cars in GTS will be "super-premium".

I was under the impression @girabyt3 wanted to see prominent GT sponsorship return to the Le Mans course (apparently something made possible or more likely again through the FIA connection) instead of having Forza Motorsport billboards there.

Lemans is managed by ACO and not FIA. Only link (please correct me if I am wrong) is that Jean Todt (president FIA) has close connections with ACO and is in favor of WEC / LeMans.

Licensing will be handled by ACO but FIA can get the deal maybe a bit easier done and maybe due to this unique combination they will be able to add some real heritage of LeMans in GT Sport.

It's nice to have a mix of cars, where appropriate. At Le Mans...sure. At a WEC style endurace event...sure. At a Toyota Yaris (RM or race version) race...no. GT500's? No, they should all be the same spec and class of car. In Arcade Mode...sure. Online...sure. In Career Mode....in a game built around the FIA and racing...let's stick to real life appropriate fields please.

This is exactly what I'm hoping for, like PCARS. A smaller but "more complete" car list with some real racing series included. Hoping the FIA connection allows this to happen.

So you're saying that all RM cars created by PD should be removed from the FIA races in GT7?
If so I'm with you on that but let's be serious PD can't just stop what they've already started. Also, the GT RM cars have a quite good mods on them so if they'd be included in tuned car races in GT I'd be glad. After all it's PD choice not ours. We are just fans.

Not saying that at all. I'm saying I'd prefer, and it would be more of a simulator, that cars should be in appropriate races with similar cars or in a series with a limited number of other classes of cars, like WEC. A Cappuccino RM belongs in a one make race, or an RM cup with other RM Kei cars, if they exist. It doesn't belong on Lemans with a Bentley R8. I'm talking Career Mode here, on your own do whatever you want obviously, if they allow that freedom that is. Likewise, street cars don't belong on the track with race cars, no matter how fast they are. No VGTs on the track with Le Mans prototypes for example, other than outside of career mode.

I agree. I always thought that GT5 and 6 campaigns would have been longer if every RM car had had its own cup. This logic applies to the 500 and Punto Abarth or S2000s, NSXs, ...

Oh sorry if I miss understood you before :D
Yeah I totally agree with that. One make race for Prius RM would also be nice 👍

Kinda, but it doesn't actually give that much information. I'd like to see them do more in this area. Give a short video about the history of Le Mans along with a Le Mans race. Give some history of the Nurburgring. Tell us about the 787B and what makes it so special.

Kaz wanted to make movies, and there's infinite scope within a game like Gran Turismo to have meaningful, short documentary type content. At least something better than a tiny blurb about each car. That's so PS1 era. Fire GTTV back up and get some content going.

Basically, all those little movie shorts that went with the VGTs were great. Make more like those, but about actual cars, tracks and events.

Yeah, this is exacly what I feel (due that LeMans is part of the WEC), I mean, this is my idea, when Forza launches a motorsport game (rather than a Horizon game), ok, you have a chance for your billboard, and on the Horizon years, either GT, or Project CARS, or just none of them, because most of sims so far support lemans (GT specially), and a mixture of videogames can give more colour and love to lemans. I mean, PCars have their own designed lmp1, GT has the LM-inspired VGTs, and that will go expanding further over the years. :)

After some time, I thought I'd check this thread, looking at some new SCREENS/VIDS and found nothing, but off topic.

Though, frankly I'm not really surprised.
It's quite pathetic honestly, the majority of the general public has no clue that this game even exists. One trailer is not enough to market a game, epesially when a trailer is as brief as the one we got. It's like they released a teaser trailer, but ended up releasing nothing else. I just don't understand it.

True it sucks, but it being pathetic is rather much. Let's not forget that when the demo/beta pops up in the PS Store (either suddenly or with short prior announcedment) it could jolt the average non-GT news followers into an 'ohh yaa Gran Turismo exists" state. And of course it'll then sprawl across social media, videos, gaming sites.. yada yada and hopefully garner lots of attention until full release. There IS a reason they're not showing anything off.

I think pathetic is the perfect word to describe what is going on. Compared to every other racing game, their marketing and communication is somewhat pathetic. I get that they have to have a reason for this, but they should atleast keep us informed. It doesn't take much to put together a quick trailer just to keep people interested.

They just hate GTPlanet and are doing this to spite you and others.

The only people on the emotional rollercoaster awaiting possible GT news are us fiends on GTPlanet and other sim-racing communities.. lol.. I check what's going on here every day don't get me wrong, but I also get that no complaining or frustration is going to change their already-decided-on way of bringing trailers and info to us. All I care about is that they're working away on it and comes out.. and almost like they operate like that.. it's like an unveiling of a new model at an international auto show. It's a close guarded seceret until the bitter end.

Wow 105 pages in a video and screenshot thread for a game which has only one teaser video released.... Something tells me there are still a lot of GT fans here
Well the first 30 or so pages were speculation of when the trailer would be released... then there were like 10 pages written about the trailer. Then idle speculation continued. And then the last 40 or so pages... idk anymore. honestly haven't followed this thread much since page 50 or so.

I wish the incoming trailer is something like this:
Starts with GT3 Cars at Nurb, close-up of Aston Martin, and then zoom behind... Porshe GT3. Music stops, focus on Porsche and epic sound (in-game I hope). Music continues, epic LeMans LMP cars with fantastic lighting and rain effects. Fog at night = 0 visibility.
Real rally track, incredible dust accumulation, newest Rally car. Crashes, showcases incredible damage model. Another track, snow, real too. Rubbing these tires with realistic snow smoke effect.
Nascar with over 16 cars.
New Monaco and Formula One contract, brings new season, along with an older one at the time of Senna.
Course Maker return, with more options like elevation, tighter curbs, and possibiloty to make surface above another.
Finally BMW E30 at Pikes Peak, transition to same car with race modded.
AND Acura NSX at Seattle. On screen written: Track is confirmed.

:D

GT3 and LMP don't really tickle me fancy, I would prefer Gr C LM cars, I'm also old school touring car boy ( Gr A, Super Taikyu, Gr N etc ) :D A trailer similar to video intro of Advan Racing would be much more my taste. 80's and 90's are the golden era for me, from M3s to 911s to Accord to Celica to MR2 to Civics to Chasers to Primera to Skyline to Viper to F40 to McLaren F1 to Countach and Diablo JGTC, add a ten years of BTCC from late 80's to late 90's, the dream complete.
