The jump from ps3 to ps4 isn't that great in terms of graphics, to be fair GT6 already looked great but didn't run well so a little touch up here and then and those 60 fps you speak of will make me more than happy.

I miss being blown away with the next gen graphics, GT3 anyone?
Have you seen Uncharted4, The Order or Doom?

Just watched the trailer a 3rd time to specifically look for the aliasing I somehow missed the first two times. The only scene that had visible aliasing to a significant degree seemed to be the livery editor, but everything else looked rather great. Some very minor aliasing occasionally visible on an edge here or there, but certainly not "quite a bit".

Yes but comparing U3 to U4 and then comparing Jax and dexter to uncharted explains the jump in graphics through generations that i referred to.

Not defending GT but ill be happy with smoother gameplay and better sounds.
GT6's cars already looked PS4 material back on the PS3 (standard models excluded obviously)

The jump is actually pretty huge. I'm consistently blown away by the graphics of many new games.

I just expected more from a Gran Turismo game. I think part of it is that Gran Turismo has a lot more competition than it used to and when they're all pretty much going for the exact same 'look', it becomes harder to stand out from the pack in any really significant way.

I am more worried about playabillity, I mean, how playable the game will be, how good the servers will be, if there is a decent offline carrer and single player (GT6 offline was very poor). At least for me thats more important now, the graphics are fine.

I like that they are giving priority to quality. It looks like that they are done with standard cars and dupies, and thats a good evolution indeed.
Reasonable enough. I was fine with GT6's single player career stuff, personally. And of course I'm interested in all these things. But none of that is given away in that trailer, so I was merely commenting on what I could actually comment on.

As for the higher quality car models - I do like that approach, I think Forza Motorsport was right to start from scratch with FM5 even if it meant less content initially and all, but I do worry about what that means for GT7, specifically - have they really only got 100-200 cars done so far? I can't see them wanting to release GT7 with anything less than 500 cars, so it might be a long wait...

Is it me or the car looked a bit off ? Like the cockpit area is a bit large ?

Agreed, Gran Turismo has blown me away in every new console entry including the original but this one seems quite low key in comparison.

The competition is certainly tougher, drive club and project cars have impressed me greatly.
Really hoping for a future without any standard cars, better sounds and just an all round polish that was missing in the ps3 era.

I know the game still has " 50% " development time to go, but i already love the look of the new Tokyo track 👍 I hope they're going to put tyre marks onto the track before release, but I assume little details like that go in toward the end anyway ?

So I take it I was the only one here that was seriously impressed by the graphics?

It's pretty much the same sort of situation with PCARS to me. The cars and environment look very good but it doesn't look photorealistic.

Previous GT titles of recent times had graphics, car count, and not much else to really set them apart from the competition.

This has a stunning car roster, even from just the trailers we've been shown, a proper livery editor - which is something that GT fans have been asking for for longer than I've been gaming - a fantastic array of locations, beautiful graphics (I can't say they're miles better than the likes of FM6 but you can't exactly say they're any worse), and overall something that looks as aesthetically polished as ever.

I'm not picky when it comes to games. I'm probably one of the very few who enjoyed GT6 from day one onwards. I haven't actually been looking forward to GTS though, and I haven't even considered pre-ordering or even eventually purchasing it. This looks like a very un-PD piece of work - that's not a bad thing at all - as they appear to have addressed the wider concerns of the average gaming enthusiast. If they can give players some stable servers and a smoother online experience in general, this could mark a huge change in direction for the GT franchise.

If you're trying to pick flaws in a game from its second trailer, then you should probably find a slightly better use of your time on the internet. Or just lighten up a bit.

Says the person who just wrote out several paragraphs of over-defensiveness nonsense just because they didn't like some people pointing out things they weren't fond of in the trailer.

Give me a break.

The two statements were unrelated, I was simply offering my personal view of where I believe GT Sport is taking the franchise. I don't know what "over-defensive(ness?) nonsense" was in my post, because I wasn't trying to defend any particular party - the last paragraph was in reference to the wave of people in various threads who appear to have played the final version of the game and can apparently write it off on the spot as a total failure.

You specifically addressed people "picking flaws in the trailer". You said that people picking flaws in the trailer should do something better with their time. I was hardly taking your comment out of context.

Anyways, I feel that perhaps the lack of any substantial graphical upgrade may very well be because of PSVR. It would be very difficult to run it at the required resolution and framerate in VR if the graphics were properly state-of-the-art. So they might have had to restrain themselves a bit.

Perhaps I should have drawn a line between the two halves of the post for clarity.

I stand by the comment though, because picking flaws in a trailer such as this is a bit of a waste of time - it's common knowledge that it's still very much in development (50% left to do is a mightily big task), so walking into a thread solely to criticise aspects of a game that can only be judged when the final version is played doesn't make much sense.

There's nothing wrong with picking out flaws of official footage a company shows of their game.

It's worth keeping in mind that the game is still in development, but that doesn't make any and all criticisms unreasonable or a total waste of breath.

There's some small concerns I have about the livery editor before I'd class it as "proper", but yes, it is a massive step forward for the franchise, even from just what I've seen.

I'm reserving final judgement until I get some hands-on time myself, but going by the stream (and being familiar with how FM6 differs from streams versus when I play it myself), nope, I can't say GT Sport looks better in gameplay.

Photomode? Oh, absolutely; from what little they've told us about Photomode, it looks like a revolution of the feature the likes of which we haven't really seen since GT4 started it all up. The Photomode community is going to love, love, LOVE that aspect of the game, especially if the livery editor does allow full customization.

That's not fair, and I think both you and I know that's not the case. That's misrepresenting some people being disappointed with what they've seen so far (which, in a lot of cases, is based on the just-concluded stream).

Posting it in this thread probably wasn't the best idea because it was likely to get misconstrued - I can see why it looks like I'm specifically targeting those who've expressed dissatisfaction with some elements of the game, but I can wholeheartedly say I'm not. My apologies if the wording and context made it seem as though I was trying to quell any critique that people may have.
