On a different subject, what do people think about the new PD racing cars shown? I don't know if it indicates that racing mods are destined for a comeback, but I hope they're at least on an even keel with some real-life regs so we can have some varied grids. Throwing them in with random performance figures like in previous titles would be a bit of a waste.

It makes me nostalgic about the old games where you could race modify almost any car. They look great on the PS4 too.

I'm of two minds: on one hand, it feels a little silly to rep the FIA tie-in only to fill the championship with made-up race cars. But why?!

Then I had a think about how maybe this was never meant to replicate existing FIA stuff in a game. That's pretty straight-forward. No, this is about making something new. Strictly speaking, keeping classes regulated should be far easier in the game than in real life, so having some PD-designed vehicles (like that awesome-looking 4C) makes sense.

When I think about this as a whole separate adventure that just happens to follow the general FIA structure instead of an existing series' rulebook to a tee, then I'm much more okay with it. Especially as I always loved the Race Modifications of GT's 1 and 2.

I do like the inclusion of the F-Type. That's a car that's had its factory GT3 programme canned, much to the disappointment of most motorsport fans, so to give it a virtual life is a nice touch.

I'm sure both on and offline play would be a lot more enjoyable for the majority of players if cars were pre-set with a proper BoP. It would be nifty if data from various tracks were to be collected from all online players so each update could bring a BoP change, so it's ever-evolving - I doubt it would ever happen, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to implement.

Having said that, neither is a livery editor, and it only took them 19 years. :P

It is a little silly, especially considering the game has "FIA" all over it. But then again, there's no reason some of these cars (I'm talking about the Gr. 3 ones) can't exist. I'd love to live in a world where Subaru, Mitsubishi, Alfa, and Toyota are participating in GTE/GT3 alongside Ferrari, McLaren, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, etc. That's how racing was in the '90s and earlier. But the money isn't there anymore, and nowadays most of these programs spring up every so often and are gone within a couple years. The Viper GTE/GT3 program lasted only three years I believe, and Nissan's infamously horrendous P1 experiment was finished in one. So I have absolutely no problem with what Polyphony's doing, especially considering some of these fictional cars look absolutely effing perfect, and I prefer them to comparably less interesting Z4 GT3s and the like. If they're "engineered" to be competitive with their real life counterparts, I don't see a problem.

TL;DR real life sucks, I want a WRX GT3, this is a good idea

So I take it I was the only one here that was seriously impressed by the graphics?
I wasn't impressed by the graphics, but I am impressed they were able to build so many 2016 cars in such as short time period. :D

I wasn't impressed either, but I'm willing to look past that if the gameplay and sound are good. So far it's 1/3 of those things confirmed with the gameplay looking pretty much exactly like GT6. But the sound... Oh boiiiyiyiyyiyy :nervous:

There were a lot of bugs too, List of bugs I noticed watching the stream.
#1 - texture bug at Brands Hatch.
#2 - Cars were clipping through the ground at Carosel
#3 - Positions flicker a bit. Sometimes it will flash 5th and 6th, when there were clearly no position changes.
#4 - Not really a bug, but the BoP seems absolutely horrible for Group 1 and Group 3 and I hope they make changes.
#5 - Also not a bug, but I was disappointed the cars didn't get dirty after driving through the grass, and there were no surface scratches like in GT5/GT6.

You can see it in the official playstation blog. The American version. There are I think only 4 answers, and one of them suggests that. I'm sorry I'm not quoting the link, but I'm writing from my phone. And I'm in bed, sick. Sorry, but anyway, you can see it there.

I'm pretty sure the BoP is actually about right - seemed clear to me that in GTS the Vision GT cars have had their stats tweaked to bring them in line with their real world opponents. The same would be said of the Group 3 cars. I really didn't see any obvious performance imbalances from the livestream.

Cars was clipping in Daytona Raceway since GT5P. Nothing new, sadly. :indiff:

Or it can be some sort of pre-war race car

Either way, the inclusion of either is odd in this case.

Well the one news article mentioned a revamped museum like was in GT5, so I'd imagine it's something to do with that and it's not an actual usable car in game.

Hopefully I'm wrong though :P

Brands hatch and Green Hell look great. I could not watch it live but have checked it out now. They can polish the gfx and add affects. I did not like the collision in the online races. It was detecting good but I thought car was kinda jerky. Hopefully we will be SP mode footage. This is probably an early build so before release they can do the changes

I think you've hit it. Read in the main thread that they're is some sort of mode that has a history of Racing, much like the museum. Looks very similar.
