Because it doesn't have to look like a toy which is why I am hoping we don't have to pay for a toy looking wheel that I'll never use and then pay for an additional wheel later on. I'd rather order it up front with a wheel that bears a passing resemblence to a real one, even if all the fancy buttons don't work.

So the steering wheel with the fake buttons is the proper wheel whereas the functional, robust and ergonomic wheel without fake buttons is the "toy looking" wheel? :odd:

(Personally I'd feel a lot sillier using the fake Ferrari F1 lookalike wheel.)

Yup

I just want a wheel that works, Look solid enough (and not like a plastic mess like the madcatz I had) and doesn't feel like it'll break if I so much as even poke it with my finger. Not really fussed about it looking exactly like the Wheel in Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari, especially since I'm sure with a name like that it can't be cheap.

Oh and I reeeeally prefer it to be a price where I won't have to consider doing shady things to get the money for it.

It's about $CDN200. I think most of the TM add on wheels are around that same general price point. Thrustmaster T150 or G29 are your best bets for full support and budget pricing.

I've just realised something - on the bottom of the image, I can see R1, R2, R3 and so on, as well as X1, X2 and X3 through to X6. What does this mean? What intrigues me though is that there's one event between R1 and R2, which is that same for R5 and R6 as well. Could these be graduation events? Similar to what you did to get to another license hall in GT4?

Hmm, shame.
You think it is a shame that a mass market direct drive wheel that is compatible with console is being released this early?

Compared to other mass market wheels it is doubtful this one will be cheap but compared to other direct drive options I imagine this one will be a bargain.

He's clearly saying it's a shame that it'll be expensive.

Looks like the text font and bits of the GUI changed. I like that they separated the fastest lap of the race from your personal best.

Those videos posted by Akps3 have a very low framerate or is only me?

Really awkward!! @.@

They are definately not the 60 FPS videos we've watched, which to be fair was done on a likely lower quality stream.

Never said that.
I can't imagine what you think is a shame. Cheap wheel options already exist but there is nothing like this on the market yet, it is a great technology being brought to console players which will no doubt be the most affordable version of this technology on the market by a big margin. Why is it a shame that this wheel isn't just another cheap wheel like the other cheap wheels that are already on the market when there is enough choice in that segment already?

Also with the news that GTS will support PS3 wheels people who are strapped can go out and get a second hand wheel.

As you can see I'm struggling to understand what you could possibly think is a shame. I think it is the opposite, PD teaming up with Thrustmaster to produce a mass market direct drive wheel for console players is one of the best bits of news to come out this year in my opinion. And compared to the other direct drive options I'm betting this wheel will be cheap.

I'd say you are over thinking it. I just want a nice new wheel for a good price that doesn't cost more than a months rent. This one looked nice (not having known it's specifics) but now that I know it's expensive, it's off my list. Case closed...

I don't know how much a months rent is for you but my G29 cost me less than a weeks rent and a DFGT will most likely be supported and be an absolute bargain second hand. I'm also pretty sure this new direct drive wheel will cost less than a months rent for me but rent in Australia isn't cheap.

I just watched the race replays in Post #4243 and the thing that stood out to me (apart from the driving:crazy:) was how little time you get in the ''In Car View'' before the start of the race,

It's not going to be easy to get the proper revs when the view switches with less than the 1 count left on the timer before starting. I hope this is changed to at least the full count in the pre-selected view before release:nervous:

I hope Poly understands we need a lot of camera angles to make races alive in replay mode.

I found the video of the first official race of GT SPORT in China. The website of our forum do not the media link, so i have to post the address directly.

The winner of the race is also an amateur racer ,he also likes watch Hollywood film and art film.

GTsport looks very nice! (Overlook collision engine). I would add more blur in some camera angles. But it's like night and day when you remember the London reveal.
