Continuing the talk about camera views, I've always wondered why PD has never implemented a 360 degree camera to look around the car like 99% of other car games do.

Thats what baffles me too...

The chasecam is just awful. at least give us a second option then everybody is happy, a closer loose one with wider FOV. and the far away narrow FOV camera which is there currently.

Whats so hard about to do it? yep nothing...

Considering all that you've wrote in response to someone simply wanting a 360 camera, perhaps it's worth pondering wether you are over emotionally attached to what is simply a game? Maybe PDI should do away with "look left, look right" too as to not be the same as other games? I highly doubt that would be the reason for it not appearing in GTS.
Yea, that's not what happened.

Yea, that's not what happened.

I profundly disagree. IMO that's exactly what happened.

I love that response. People feel the need to compare it to other games where it falls short, obviously, that's fair. But sometimes enough is enough. We're getting carried away with how perfect we expect it to be. Then someone will mention something like, "what about all the simple things PD can change and add?" To that I say, "PD will always do their thing."

It's true, it sucks, it's great, it's just fine. I still love playing GT and hope they never stray from THEIR path, THEIR way of making racing games for the past two decades. GT for life.

You are not specifying why GT is good, just parising GT for some intangible reasons.

If their way of making games is delaying the game for countless months and perform very poorly in basic aspects like sounds, AI, collisions, basic motorsport culture... Im not in love with their way of making video games.

About the point you were making, for me is not about requiring Polyphony to make the perfect game (and they have the resources to do it). Is about Polyphony not telling GT is the perfect game when clearly is not. Really annoys me that they call themselves "the real driving simulator", "the future of motorsport" or selling the game like it was Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. If they kept a low profile, people wouldn't be so hard with Polyphony.

SMS is pushing the limit of what we thought it was possible in a game, Kunos has brought the best driving experience and the first pure sim to consoles, Milestone and Codemasters have produced excellent rally sims, Iracing guys have done the best racing simulator that we could ever imagine... And all those developers don't play so hard the marketing game like Polyphony does. Because GT is not a game anymore; it's a marketing product.

PD: I'm finished with the offtopic or carry on with it on spoilers. On last thing about the sounds: Milestone has improved a lot their sound engine in their next game Gravel. If GT sounds are going to be like they are right now, GT Sport will have the worst sounds of this generation.

"Get out of my wayyyyyyyy!!!" .........

I wonder how all this people that we see in the videos pushing other cars and driving like morons (we have to asume it, is the mayority of the people who play racing games) will adapt to a moderated online multiplayer.

The HUD is out of control

the yellow BMW scape looks really bad

What looks bad to you :sly:?

I thought for a scape this wasn't too bad in graphical detail or the car position. One of the better ones we have seen, I feel these are just stock photos of someone not touching the settings. Wait until we get our hands on the Scape mode and I am sure there are plenty of options and settings to make them even more realistic. i.e move the car back further, angle wheels, blur/speed the background from the details I have seen.

Left front tyre.

Basically, the contact between tyres and ground are the worst part of scapes right now and probably the hardest to fix, too.
