This race sees me in the Gr4 Megane, stuck behind a couple of GTRs. I was all over them in the corners, but their traction just kept them out of reach on the straights and into the braking zones.

Turn off TCS
your drive off the corners is being severely reduced by using it.
you can see out of turn 1, down-hill that it's limiting your throttle to 30% when you're asking for 100%.
sure it might light up the inside wheel a little, but the car will still provide plenty of drive through the outside wheel.

Goodmorning everyone.
First video for me with share function.
GT-R Gr.4 at Nordchleife

A very fun and challenging event, maybe a couple of seconds you can sneak.
It would be nice to see a video of aliens at the top places to figure out where to take those 6 seconds ...
Good GT at all!

Brands also looks slightly touched up. Nothing too major. Unless the lighting engine requires assets to be remodeled.

Brands only need minor changes imo, because the track itself in GT6 is almost done, but PD can't put more details with complex object such as 3D spectators and other trackside details. So, they decided to put it in GTS instead, polished them and give some touch of lively atmosphere.

it's me or the hyundai genesis is the same 3D model? if they started to carry old premium cars from GT6 we can expect a car list much larger than 140 models

They are already using GT6 models that used tessellation, like One-77, Bmw M4, Vision GT's etc. I'm pretty sure the Genesis also used tessellation in GT6, so naturally it's the same model.

Don't hope for a bigger car list unless we start seeing GT5 era premiums.

The overall difference isnt too huge in terms of looks but what I notice the most is the bad framerate in GT6 man look at that stuttering. GTS looks really smooth compared.

GT6's framerate is bad, however, they do say in the video that the GT6 footage is slowed down so that both can be matched.

458 Italia, SLS AMG, Evora or the MP4 12C are in GTSport. I think it's not a matter of geometry but rather some textures which need to be redone for PBR.

Wow, he came from a long way back. Exaggerated draft or is the GT-R simply faster in a straight line?

I haven't felt the draft is too exaggerated. The GT-R is quicker in a straight line and if anything is exaggerated it is the false sense of security the mirror view gives you. If you look back you realise the following car is actually a lot closer than it looks in the mirror.

Others have reported an exaggerated draft already. If you use the overhead sign at 7:11 the GT-R appears to be about 1 second behind. That's over 200 feet at that speed. Perhaps physics are different in Germany but in the rest of the world, that's not a realistic distance to gain a drafting advantage.

Have you experienced it yourself? I have followed cars and, in my opinion, the draft is not overly exaggerated. It's nothing like as strong as it was in GT6 before the "Real" setting was introduced. The GT-R is quicker and has better traction out of corners and I had a poor exit from the final turn so it's probably a combination of all those things and certainly no German I know ever claimed physics were any different in their country.

In the video it appears you gained ground in the last corner before the straight so maybe he had the same or a worse corner. Regardless, it appears he made up a 1 second gap solely through the draft.

Gave up on the Nurb yesterday as my car doesn't have the rocket scientist manipulation to get another 5 seconds at the line haha :P I've probably another 2 seconds at the most with my very best lap pieced together? again I gotta say those 7:23's are just absolutely insane

In all honestly I gave up finally after a schoolboy error when I was 1.3 seconds ahead of my best splits and spun exiting the very last turn going on the final straight and went in too wide and typically spinning on the far rumble  should have been a 7:27 but not to be.. my final time 7:28.805! Pretty happy with my lap but not happy when I compare it to the leaderboard haha, Here's hoping for some new events today that don't involve this much effort in 1 lap 👍

No, I believe I gained ground in the early part of that sector and you, and I, have no idea of whether or not he had a better or worse last turn. I'm not sure what your agenda is but you are clearly ignoring other contributory facts like the simple fact the GT-R is faster. I'll ask again. Have you experienced it yourself?

I can see in the video that you gain ground exiting the corner. Not sure how that could mean anything other than you did the corner as well or better than him. And no, I didn't ignore the GT-R speed I already asked about it.

So how much faster does the GT-R accelerate at 140mph to be able to overcome an entire second of gap to get into the draft range? I haven't experienced it myself but I can see the video with my own eyes.

This sense of view is way off.

I can tell from my experience yesterday in the online races that even when having a good exit through the last corner before Döttinger Höhe it still is possible to overtake (or get overtaken in my case) when being 1,1 second behind/ahead. This with both driving GT-R's. The actual draft strength seems to be fine though, it's just that the distance from where the draft actually starts should be a lot less. It's really stupid to get overtaken there in the end after having the lead for the whole lap and struggling to even build up a 1 second gap in the last 2 sections. Many times I see people actually slowing down at the beginning of the straight to let you pass just so they can catch you again at the end to still get 1st place.

But then I looked at this video from WTCC and I don't know anymore.. But they are closer than 1 second though. :P

You did when you said he made up the 1 second solely through the draft.

We didn't take the last turn at 140mph. I entered it at a little over 100mph and had to lift momentarily on the exit. Anyone who has driven the GT-R in this game will tell you it has better grip and traction and will accelerate harder out of corners than the Genesis. I was able to post a lap time nearly 2 seconds faster in the Gt-R.

Yeah, all these appeared as premiums in GT5 but the ones in GTS are not the same 3D models from GT5, they were built from scratch again using tessellation. Just like those you cars mentioned, the Evo X was in GT5 but was remade for GTS:

Nice cotton picken commentary!

I could see from the start you were using a controller because of the accidental headlight flashing you were doing by pressing the left stick down while steering
