Spring actually... but every day you wait without an announcement is another day added to the list... in OP I figured that we will have a trailer about 5-7 months in advance, if not more. If we saw a trailer tomorrow. The game would probably be released between late March and May.

Has anything been hinted for Tokyo motor show? VGTs or anything?

Understand your point but that's not how Sony does it, they decide before hand what gets shown in what conference and there are several criteria that goes into this (not just when will this be released) for example at E3, FF7 is a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way off.

Though in that post I only talked of a demo.........

Go ahead and assure me, I'm all ears/eyes! ;)

Oh my bad, a prolouge for this year's holiday season is actually a pretty decent idea, I think it's highly unlikely as we would have heard something by now. But not impossible.

Be an optimist, think Track Path Editor. Nothing from PD and most everyone here had wrote it off as not happening to the point Famine was PD PR assuring everyone it was still coming. Then boom! released.

I much prefer to be optimistic and wrong then gloomy and right. The impossible is possible.

Small GT7 timeline

September-2013 : GT7 release 2014/2015
November-2013 : GT7 release end of 2014 (clearly means that GT7 development had begun a long time ago)
October-2014 : GT7 release 2015/2016
June-2015 :GT7 release 2016

PD's financial difficulties

2013/2014 = 0.5M€ (that's low considering the fact that they released GT6)
2014/2015 = -3.4M€
2015/2016 = worst than 2014/2015 as the team is growing up and they don't sell anything new ???

IMO,

1) They needed to release GT7 in 2015. A 2016 release is "already" too late, a lot of gamers have made choices (Drive Club, Forza 5 AND 6, Project Cars, Assetto Corsa, iRacing, rFactor 2 etc...). Of course, the sales will be good (it's a GT) but will they be good enough to reimburse their losses through the last years AND to invest in the development of the next GT game ?

2) If they take too much time to release GT7, it also means that GT8 will be released still later. This also means that :
- the current-gen concurrence will be still harder (Forza 7 or 8, Project Cars 2...)
- the next-gen concurrence will be really close <=> same situation as GT6 on PS3 <=> business failure (again)

When I see you guys talking about a 2017 release, I don't get it ! At his time we will begin to hear rumors about the new PS5 ! PD will be dead by then if they didn't release/sell something ! I really hope they will announce/release something quick.

Sony's first party haven't released a bad game this gen so far. (granted they haven't released much  )

Knack. The Order. Not "bad" per se, but very underwhelming. Outside of Infamous and the MLB series, I can't think of another SCE game this generation that has met critical expectations. I love Driveclub, but the horrific launch doomed it from any positive recognition by the press out of the gate, and rightfully so. Sony has no answer to Microsoft's first party output yet, which is shocking and disappointing considering that was why I (and many others I'd imagine) chose a PS4 over an Xbox One.

The Order is second party (I think Knack is too but not sure). Driveclub, fixed it's issues though. (oh and TLOUR).

And I haven't mentioned the second party and indies but that's off-topic. My point is with some rare exception Sony's first party release solid games.

Wax Free Vanilla from NeoGaf has shed some speculative light on the PS4 logo found in the Course Maker app:

The only good reason I can think of for us getting a mobile app instead of an in game course maker is compatibility with all current and future Sony racing games (Kaz did say they were working with other game companies) - that Ps4 logo in the app? Track Path Editor 1.1 is coming to Driveclub as part of its big update this month.

Don't start putting petrol in the hype train now...

Jokes aside, it will come when it comes, I'm just gonna wait.
The hype train doesn't run on petrol though, it runs on promises that were never really promises and speculations! :D that's why it never runs out! :D

Then again, Petrol is promise and speculation. You always speculate how long it will last or if the promise that 95 Octane was better than the 93 on the butt dyno...

My mind...

The only interesting thing I see about that is that it tells us that PD's operating costs are 3.4 million euro or more a year. I would have said more at the very least, although creative accounting is not a new thing.

3.4 million euro divided amongst 150 employees is a very low average wage, especially for a company that claims that a lot of it's employees are long termers. It's tough to keep wages down when you're giving raises every year.

Thats only 22.6 thousand a person. I would assume many of those employees are part time.

Well, that's not the easiest explanation. Depreciation is a wonderful thing, and when you're working with computers there's an awful lot of hardware lying around that needs to be depreciated. Which is why I said "or more". Their operating costs could be double that, which is much more believable. You can only read so much into it when you're only given the bottom line.

I doubt many of their employees are part time. We haven't seen them hiring for part-timers on their website, and it goes fairly strongly against their stated ideal of having "artisans" who see a project through from start to finish. It's not impossible part time, but it's a lot harder.

Looks more like PD are in a position of financial strength.

I wonder what this says:

We might get a announcement at Spring time, like gt6. I hope we get a announcement this year, because I'm losing my patience.

Given Jordan liked that one particular post in this thread that asked whether they'll be any hype train worth boarding this year I think it is a decent bet.

He hasn't said otherwise!
