View attachment 462456 I I'm not sure if this is the place to post this, and what does it even mean .But I've found the PS4 logo in the course maker app.

I actually make apps for both Android and iOS so I can say with confidence that the PS4 logo PNG file being in the app files is not just a coincidence. I suspect the existing course maker app will be updated to fully support PS4 (if it doesn't already) when GT7 is released. So you can make a track and then have the choice to either play it on GT7 or GT6.

This would also explain why it took so long for the Course Maker to come out. It looks like they were creating the app with PS4 compatibility in mind. That way when GT7 finally comes out, they can use the existing app for making courses instead of making a whole new app just for GT7. In fact, PS4 compatibility with the app may already be finished or close to being finished and was just removed for the public release build. This would explain why that PNG file is hidden away as they may be doing internal testing (sometimes small files like this PNG can end up in an apps files even though the function for the file was removed for the build).

So GT7 must be pretty close if PD is already referencing the PS4 in the GT6 course maker app. At this rate, I highly doubt we will see the calendar turn to 2016 without seeing some sort of official GT7 news and possibly a release date. If PD is serious about releasing GT7 before 2017, they need to start building hype (outside of this forum) sooner rather than later. Especially sense the console racing simulation genre is getting more competitive.

I'd almost be willing to put my money on a GT7 announcement at the Playstation Experience event this December.

This is why Androids are awesome.

Im guessing the whole of GT6 is a massive watered down husk of GT7 scaled and stripped to run on the ancient PS3. Same with the app.

I used to make apps for Android too. Being updated to support PS4 doesn't mean more features. It just means that they expect the next game to have a backwards compatible course editor.

GT4 was watered down visually for the ancient PS2. But when next gen PS3 came, and let them show their true graphical potential. Their audience wasn't impressed, and began to complain about standards. "Last gen assets" I quite like the standards. They were important to GT5 and GT6 to keep the car count high. But I don't think we need them any more.

There's a good chance they will add more to the app for PS4, though. Dangling the carrot for GT7 with dirt/snow tracks and longer tracks just makes more business sense, really.

But it has not been announced to receive new features yet, so we shouldn't expect more than we already have unless they say something. Although adding nights, dirt, snow and new regions does make sense. From the sales and advertising side.

I don't know... I was reading this thread and almost everything that was said here, i just don't get into te hype train yet. But then i saw the terminator's post. Seriously, it really makes sense, the GT series always bring sony's new technology in the pack.

And for the PS2 content used with the PS3 not being so good at all, well. I'm playing PCars on PS4 and i have to say, while a lot of things is better than GT, the replays and the cars graphics in Gran Turismo 6 are so damn good, i would say that it is even better. So yes, i think that the premium cars from the PS3 era can be used on GT7.

But i don't give it too much attention or i'll get crazy. GT7 will come out when it comes out. But i do miss some skylines(really!) on Pcars and all those uniques cars that GT has.

There aren't any messages that contains "PS3" in this list, only "PS4".

This list of errors might be even more revealing than the PS4 logo PNG file. The fact that these errors are hidden away in the Android app tells me that:

1. GT7 is probably pretty far into development. I cant imagine PDE using time and resources to create and test a companion app for GT7 unless the main parts of GT7 are either complete or close to being complete. Otherwise they run the risk of creating the app and then having to change it again and again as GT7 gets further in development.

2. The existing track creator app is most likely already compatible with the PS4 but the PS4 specific functions and UI buttons have been removed for the public release. This means that when GT7 launches, the app can be updated with all of the PS4 functions enabled and we will have the ability to create tracks on launch day.

3. Most importantly: If PDE developers really are testing this app on PS4, then GT7 must be in a fairly stable playable state.

This only fuels my theory that GT7 will definitely show up in some form (perhaps even a live demo) at either the Playstation Experience event or a GT specific event.

Of course they are far on development. They started in 2012 or 2013. And kaz has said that the fans won't wait until 2017. They should have pretty much everything in the game already in the game. I wouldn't be surprised if they are in the final stages of Alpha. :) unless they are procrastinating... They have a lot more to do than the average developer. With their company competing in GT3 and their partnership with Nissan to develop a yearly release of GTacademy.

I would be very surprised if they were not starting beta within the next 6 or 7 weeks.

@sk8er913.

If they're due to be in beta in 6-7 weeks that would put release around Uncharted 4. I would think it would be released before (LOL) or after U4. I really do think they're going for a very tight reveal to release schedule, though.

The biggest issue I currently have with all the unknowns is just how many games have been bumped to next year for 1st and 3rd party games. On top of this Sony will be launching PSVR which will probably take up 3 months of next year alone.

I can't believe Sony have put themselves in a position (for the second year running) where they have no games of their own for the holiday period. I can see some quality AAA games bombing due to clashes.

Uncharted 4 actually was suppose to be this Holiday season, but it got delayed to fix the story.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/09/25/uncharted-4-a-thiefs-end-was-delayed-to-get-the-ending-right

I still expect GT7 to be Holiday 2016 at this point.

Oh I read that story GTPorsche. I just don't believe it for a second. 7+ month delay to tweak the ending? Pull the other one!
Delaying their number one franchise like this from the lucrative holiday season makes no business sense to me.

Something very big or very wrong is going on with Sony at the minute IMO. But what could it be....?

You being paranoid is what it is.

If I had to guess when we would see the first trailer for Gran Turismo 7, I would say around this time next year or early 2017.

No one outside of Polyphony Digital's circle knows though. We can keep in mind that a long time ago (around November of 2014) we were told that it is in development.

Some disagreed that it was, some agreed while others were on the fence. I dont't have a hard time believeing that a game company is actually developing a new title though.

Back inline, Gran Turismo 6 has been somewhat lacking regarding focus it seems, which can allude to redirection of focus to GT7 (If they will even call it that), as some have pointed out.

Bottom line though is we don't even know when a trailer will release, so we must all be PATIENT. I understand the hype, because we are all passionate about Gran Turismo series. It has been an important part of MOST of our everyday lives, for years.

We live in a world where it's all about speed, and advancement. Sometimes it's better to take it slow. We feel like we have to have something as soon as it releases, or we need to know when but the best gifts are those that surprise you.

I remember when we saw the first trailer for GT6 and it was like "Oh my god, I can't wait for more!" and the GTP forum for GT6 started going crazy. And that is when I really started to use GTP often. So... we have an unconfirmed release date of, "Before 2017" to quote Kaz. How long before GT7s first trailer? Will the hype train be crowded like it was for GT6?

Game release dates:
Gran Turismo 5: November 24th, 2010

I think PD have kind of changed a little bit. It seems like they no longer tease thing much at all anymore. Lately it seems they just release stuff out of the blue so I don't think it's gonna be a GT5 situation where we see a trailer over a year before the game actually comes out.

I think it's possible that GT7 could be teased at Paris Games week. Europe is a HUGE market for Sony and Gran Turismo especially. I really doubt they'd show a trailer at PSX personally so maybe we won't see a trailer until e3 next year.

I'd be shocked if we didn't see GT7 at e3. Even if it were to come out in 2017, I still think it'll have some presence at e3 next year if not sooner

I'm not sure I understand your skepticism. Kaz himself has said they've been working on GT7 since even before GT6 released hasn't he? Or I know he at least spoke about PS4 and what it will mean for developers which seems to indicate GT7 has been in the works since 2013.

I'd honestly be shocked if we didn't get a trailer til this time next year, but you're welcome to think so. I do hope you're wrong.

You being paranoid is what it is.

INDEED

The only thing wrong with Sony is that developers don't grow on trees.

What's right with Sony is that they allowed Naughty Dog to delay Uncharted 4. That was the best move they can make because otherwise, 4 clearly would've been a let down. 4 being a letdown would hurt Sony a hell of a lot more than not having a bunch of exclusives will this fall.

@sk8er913.

You think it only takes 3 months to test and tune a game of this magnitude? Especially for perfectionists like Kaz. :D

We are not expecting anything at PGW, Jordan said that we shouldn't expect anything and the thread title was updated accordingly. ...unless things have changed @Jordan then I will update the thread to match. But I don't think we will get much of a hint. PD probably wants to keep it a secret.

I couldn't call to mind Kaz saying that GT7 has been in development since before GT6. I just remember the specific news article on this site (around November 2014) about Kaz saying it's in development.

My skepticism is just a "buffer", because I believe PD are taking their time (considering that the PS4 came out two years ago and we dont even really have info, even just a rendering related to GT7). And I am imagining that they are going to utilize all of their connections. Like FIA, Nurburgring, etc... so that the final product has everything in it upon release, excluding any DLC or updates they may do.

The last stage of game development is bug testing and QA. If you think 3-4 months isn't enough even for GT then you can write off 2016 right now! (and re-confirm Kaz' pants are on fire!)

Where do you get paranoid from? All I'm saying is I don't buy the reason given for the delay and why it needs to be so long. It is absolutely right that ND (or any dev) can delay if they feel they need to. Props to Sony for allowing this. Incidentally, TLoU was delayed for just five weeks.

I'm just trying to be optimistic that we'll get GT7 sooner rather than later. I mostly blame PD for turning a large number of the fan base into grumpy bulldogs chewing a wasp! ;)

Minecraft was in beta for 11 months.
KSP was in beta for 4.5 months.
Course maker was in beta for a year supposedly.
Starcraft II was 5 months.

But remember these are open betas... PD does closed betas which I assume take longer.

I would imagine many features are already or nearly complete. They probably have a provisional complete car list and track list done. They probably already have a physics engine better than GT6s that's still having minor tweaks and bug fixes.

Games have usually already reached version 1.0, 2 months before they are sold. Unless they are purely digital. Then it will maybe only be a week or 2. They have to burn all of the disc. Uncharted 4, which you have mentioned will probably be in its final state in January.

In February 2013 Kaz was featured in the PS4 reveal. Where he said that the PS4 was much easier to develop on than the PS3 which implies that PD had already been experimenting with the PS4........ this is complete speculation, but they may have tested the GT6 build on the PS4. Either to decide if they should release on PS3 or PS4 or to benchmark the performance of yhe PS4 and began to plan GT7 at this time... I think summer or fall 2013 Kaz confirmed that they were working on GT7 and expected it to be complete in approximately 2015.

If you don't buy the reason for the delay I really have to wonder if you know Naughty Dog at all or Neil Druckmann.

The Last of Us was delayed, and according to them, it really only came together finally a couple weeks before the final release date. Naughty Dog is not a developer to mess around and they would never just delay a game for any other reason.

He said they delayed because they're trying to do something really ambitious with the ending and that makes perfect sense when you look at Neil and Bruce's last Uncharted game, 2. 2 was one of the most ambitious games of last gen. Think of the train sequence.

Obviously since this is the last Uncharted, they're not going to let it go out without a bang. This isn't some tin foil hat conspiracy dude, this is a developer doing the right thing and doing everything they can to make sure it's the best it can be. That's why your comments about there being "something wrong at Sony" couldn't be more wrong. If something was wrong, Sony would never allow a delay like this. They have almost nothing for the rest of the year for exclusives. That just shows the faith they have in Naughty Dog, and how well things are going for Sony right now.

So basically... its not COD, NFS or an EA Sports game. Those are all dedicated to their yearly and sometimes twice yearly releases... if there's a bug. They'll fix it in a patch... maybe. If there's a serious problem, even if it's only a small problem, it should be fixed, even if it pushes the release back a couple of months. :)

Wow guys you are getting completely the wrong end of the stick about what I'm trying to say. Though it is true to say that some Sony WWS have been down a bumpy road in recent history. ND with delays and upheaval in the studio, Stig's game being cancelled at SSM, Evolution with DRIVECLUB.

But back to GT7....I'm just being super overly optimistic that Sony/PD are a lot further along on GT than anyone dares to think. With Sony now with nothing substantial of their own for Nov/Dec this year, maybe, just maybe there is a possibility of getting a stocking filler. Like the GT Academy demo for GT6.

Impossible? Probably but someone here has to be upbeat.........!

Sony's first party haven't released a bad game this gen so far. (granted they haven't released much  )

There is no chance on Earth GT7 gets released in 2015 though, I assure you ;)

Summer 2016 is the most optimistic you can get.

Spring actually... but every day you wait without an announcement is another day added to the list... in OP I figured that we will have a trailer about 5-7 months in advance, if not more. If we saw a trailer tomorrow. The game would probably be released between late March and May.

Has anything been hinted for Tokyo motor show? VGTs or anything?
