Ended my beta with mixed feelings. Obvious sad, because it's over for now. But also very happy. I finished my last race of the beta with a win.

After I ran out of fuel in the middle of turn 8 of the race before, I decided to run a different strategy. Having the fuel map the whole 10 laps on 6 was the key to success. The fuel tank was dry 100 m before the finish line. Puh.

Going off the GR.4 races I did, I pretty much went straight to 6 after the first two turns and kept it there. I let faster cars through and when people ran out, I was able go right back by unchallenged. I even got the last laugh on a rammer who ran me off the track on the last lap but coming into the final corner, was out of fuel

The radiosity on the inside elements is there ..

These shots bring me back to the first time I saw High Speed Ring on the PS3 - the light bloom when exiting the tunnel was amazing. Man I'm ready for this game.

My five hours GTScb Last Moments action package stream is now on my YouTube channel.
Very many turns in there but in the end of the day I managed to revive my SR level from B to S, as it was before the noob attacks.

Thank you Kaz! So waiting the October start!

I really love these details.
I just wonder if it's really an implementation of global illumination in GTS or use some other technique that simulates the effect. However it is a very interesting technical achievement by PDI with the available hardware and gives a lot of realism to the scene:tup:

Since the launch trailer and in various promotional screenshots I had noticed similar effects, at first I thought it might be some effect of post processing of photo mode, etc... but seeing it in real time when playing is something really impressive.

In the release date trailer the effect seems particularly advanced. Notice how the interior and the exterior lights mix realistically

The exposure and ambient occlusion adjustments made the tunnels a bit weird with overly bright ceilings and gave the tunnel lights a strange superimposed effect. You can notice the "toothed" dark edges in the YT preview image with the silver TTS above.
They did fix the radiant green from the trees for that time of the day, most noticeable at the "straight" after the red curve into the tunnel.

I look forward to seeing it at release with all the bells and whistles, and hopefully the full loop.

Radiosity Irradiance has been in for a long time, as expected from PBR.
Old video (E3 2016 I think, don't mind the upload date):

So Firehuntah about this race..
I use my half throttle every lap to save my fuel but this was not enough to follow you after the lap 10 my car spend more fuel per lap and i dont know why. I continued to use half throttle. After all this try at the lap 19 my fuel finish..

How about using a leaner fuel mapping? 💡:D

Yeah maybe the leaner fuel map is better but with power fuel map and half throttle the car spend alot fuel i thing ... i dont know !!!!

If you see the video i dont try to overtake the Fire i just follow him . i overtake him 1 time because he make a fault at the first turn.

Looks like it is not official Playstation trailer, after checking Playstation ES (Spanish) channel and Playstation main channel there is no related trailer. Looks like it being edited and they putting PS4 clip at the end to make it legit.

Also, how they can get those direct capture of replays since it is not being uploaded by PS main channel or even GT channel yet? Leak footage? Btw lol'd hard on car names. The editor must be a big fans of Mazda .

In the last 24 hours of the beta I had one of the most exciting races I'd ever had in any racing game:

There's a whole bunch of other good runs I had from this weekend that I haven't gotten around to uploading (partly 'cuz it takes about a day to do so on my internet), but I think I'll post them periodically and put some of them here. I might also put together some compilations since I captured just about every race I did through the PS4's share function, there's bound to be enough content for condensed goodies.

Also I just found a pile of unused screenshots that I somehow forgot about, some dating back to when Arcade Mode was still available, a good few are probably worth a post or two.

Well, that's because the Tokyo Expressway doesn't have super interesting scenery. It's a highway going through the biggest and most populated city in the world. So they won't add more life into it, because otherwise it isn't true to the real Expressway.
Well, that's a bad choice from Poly. Things have changed, I'm a GT fan but the market has changed since GT3. For many, GT looks too clinical, sterile, lifeless... And the Tokyo Expresway won't change their opinion on GT. They will see that game after game, sells will decrease if they keep making this kind of track with a weird bonnet camera and ridiculous collisions. I love the GT franchise because of the first GTs but I can't say that GT6 is the best example for a first GT if you're new to the franchise.

Some more videos of yesterday, the last day of the beta. :( It just feels weird not racing right now.

The day started for me with the Blue Moon Bay fuel economy races which I showed already yesterday. But I also still wanted to show my fastest qualifying lap there. Beating all the Volkswagen GTI VGT's (assumed to be the fastest car around that track) with the Renault RS01 felt really good. :D It also turned out to be the best car to use during the race. Really like that car so I was happy I could finally use it for something good, rather than driving around in the mid-field somewhere.

And while I also showed the races of Tokyo Expressway already, I also managed to get the fastest lap there at the time. Though not for long I believe, saw in a screenshot + video later on that @Saidur_Ali and @zzz_pt still beat it. :P But I'm still happy with my time, given the short time I had between all of the races. As you can see it wasn't even a clean lap so I could've definately taken it into the 1:31 without any mistakes. Really enjoyed my time on this track though, wish they used it earlier and more often in the beta.

Then later on with the last 3 races of the beta I still had a pretty nice Dragon Trail race with the Nissan GT-R together with @turnupdaheat and some others. Made a mistake in the chicane which costed me a few places but made a nice comeback. In the end still fighting for 3rd position after another little mistake and did the perfect cross back in the last corner to keep that 3rd position. :) I really love doing that kind of defending/overtaking, especially if it's for a position at the finish line. :P

Then at Brands Hatch GP with the Nissan GT-R Gr3 I still had a very good fuel economy race. Bit of a mess in the first few corners but luckily I managed to get out of them without any contact. Following Marcolah from the end of lap 1 all the way untill lap 9. Had some very good fuel management while staying close to him. Short shifting turned out to be a very important thing to finish this race, as without it you'd run out of fuel before the end, even on the leanest fuel map. In the last few laps I managed to close the gap a bit more and make use of his slipstream to save even more fuel. Then in lap 9 I think he had to slow down a lot to be able to make it to the end and I was able to pass him and drive it home, crossing the line 1st with a massive lead to 2nd place. Looks like many of them had fuel problems in the last lap. For me, this was pretty much the closing race of the beta, very exciting not knowing what fuel strategy Marcolah was using and getting the best result in the end.

And then sadly the last race of GT Sport Closed Beta. Some just wanted to race, some wanted to have fun cruising with eachother around the track. I didn't mind, but I still wanted to try to win the race. :P Unfortunately a small accident where I was unable to avoid ApexMagnet in time turned into a bigger accident when I was hit from behind by Marcolah. Saw the video of him as well and he tried all he could to avoid me so I don't blame him for that, he also had both fronts damaged and a 10 sec penalty so it wasn't easy for him either. It did set me back quite a few positions and had damage to both sides on the rear. With some good fuel management and fast pace I did still manage to close the gap and eventually ended up 2nd which after all that happened in this race was still quite a good result. :) The wait till October will be very long now, going to miss all these races untill then.

Some more video's of earlier races I had might still come, but I'm not sure. I might just end it with this final race and make a highlight video of all the leftover races I still have saved instead.
