Beautiful track

Not a fan of metal barriers though. Without these the track look similar to Mt.Aso track editor layout from GT5.

I just made exact the same screenshot and was about to upload it here with exact the same purpose :odd::lol: nice job @RaY29rus

For me it really looks like a track made with a track editor. Some random placed trees, the details are only in the near of the road and not in the far and the track itself was never seen before, right?!

it was never seen before. but now knowing this is a tarmac circuit it seems that there wont be any snow track for rallying.

Post yours, because I can't see his.

I'm still putting together some compilations from my beta footage, but in the mean time I've made a few short clips to brush the rust off my editing skills.

One thing I'm not all that worried about in the full game is the SR penalty detection system - right here I get rammed into a wall and don't receive a penalty, and while it very well may be that the other guy didn't receive a penalty either, pretty much any time I made a bad judgement call in the final stages of the beta I was getting docked for it. Here's the clip:

I'm also real curious to see what sort of odd bugs come up in the full release, I saw this happen a few times in the beta, and with the complexity of games nowadays all sorts of stuff slips through - who knows what will be found when the full player base comes in:

RIP

He says PD laser scanned by helicopter BH track ???? Strange that no bumps were recorded , i remember everybody was claiming that it ws not bumpy enough !!
Or PD did a good job and the others like AC and Pcars have digitalized more bumps than reality ??
I have check some onboard cam video and it seems that PD is right for this one.
Here for example, the handle strap gives a good feedback.

This video of the huracan GT3 shows otherwise:

especially from 0:35 to 0:48 there is lots of "bumpyness"

From the FiA magazin
“They are using very impressive, very complex methods to digitize the circuits,” he says. “They use photos from helicopters, GPS, Differential GPS and laser scans to build a 3D circuit. It is the kind of technology F1 teams usually use with their simulators.”

Well, I think we got the answer there about PoDi's track quality.

The lack of "bumpyness" seen in the GTS videos has me a bit concerned. All the cars in GTS seem to have really soft suspensions, and they don't seem to get unsettled and lose traction when they drive over bumps or curbs. It's especially obvious on the Nordschleife track. In real life, drivers avoid the curbs on the Nordschleife (except for a few very flat ones) because they unsettle the car so much that it's very easy to lose control, but in GTS the cars seem to be able to just float over them. :odd:

Seems like they are working on the texture pop-in with the trees. Its still present, but nowhere near as bad as the beta. Still have some more time to optimize a bit more before release.

I've noticed in the last few videos that the AI takes some pretty 'interesting' lines - they don't perform like robotic drones anymore 👍

Also, I wonder why the 1st and 2nd position AI allowed the user to pass them?

Damn I wish gameplay looked half as good as replay. Replays are sexy as hell.

I noticed some barriers being drawn in too, and they are not even off in the distance. Might be related to some of the shadowing resources.

This was noticeable in the beta as well - it is a fixed distance from the player car, regardless of speed of travel. It is more noticeable when moving quickly. It is a similar issues with other cars headlights in the players rear view mirrors, when they hit the same distance the go completely off. I would rather they did a stepped/blurred approach to these cut-offs instead of a hard switch.

This was an interesting tidbit from the same article from Yamauchi -

“In recreating a real circuit we take an immense amount of photographs and survey data to produce a precise representation of the tracks. But we didn’t know the reason for the shape of the run-off areas, or things like why the kerbs are shaped a certain way and the regulations behind it,” he says. “Through this communication with the FIA we were able to understand everything about the safety standards behind these elements, and I think now if we design new imaginary permanent circuits we can build tracks that will fulfill the FIA’s safety standards.”

Possibly why there are more imaginary tracks than real world tracks in GT Sport, in terms of being creative as well as licensing? The article also states La Sarthe, Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps need a small amount of work to be homologated by the FIA, maybe that's why we haven't seen them so far in GT Sport or the beta? Hopefully will be sorted by release date, doesn't make sense for those tracks to be DLC.
