Was looking trough the screens from multiplayer.it and lucky I didn't found any car list with yellow dots...
For cars it will be a red dot apparently. (look at the bottom right)

I don't think these scapes will be paid DLCs.

How much space for a picture like one of these plus with all that light info in their custom format?

Being conservative, 1000 scapes x 10mb = 10gb.

IMO it's a clever decision that they will let we download the scapes we want while reducing overall size of the main package.

Those shots are really amazing. You forgot to post the best one however. :P

This is just insane, doesn't look planted at all. You could show this to anyone and no one will believe the car is a game model. The lighting is perfect.

Yeah, I can't open it either. Too bad, really want to see what's in it. Hopefully soon we can. ;)
Nah, we out.

How????? Looks so bloody natural. PD should be super proud of what they've achieved with the Scapes.

DLC Photo Scapes (look closely at the yellow dots on the pics and writing at the bottom) 👍 :(
Oh yes that would be awesome, DLC Scapes. The more, the better. But I wouldn't pay for them. No matter how much I'd want them. If they're free though, bring it on!

I still have a little faith in Kaz:

Those who own Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, can perform a free online update to upgrade the software to the same content and specifications as Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
Release Date 13 dec 2007
Number of Cars 37
Number of Tracks 5 tracks/10 layouts

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III
Release Date 30 oct 2008
Number of Cars 74
Number of Tracks 6 tracks/12 layouts

They have a proven track record... the media is going to destroy them and sales will be bad, but I suspect a year later GT Sport Spec III will be a little less disappointing.

As far as the screenshot goes - we're missing context. It could just be showing an example of what the game would look like post-release when DLCs have been launched. It doesn't surprise me that additional scapes would come in as DLC since they seem a lot easier to produce than a traditional 3D photomode location like we had in the last several games. We've been told over and over the game is set to ship with over 1000 scapes on disk, however, it is odd to actually see some scapes labeled as DLC already.

If it's just a preview of a post-DLC GT Sport, great.

If the game ships with 1000 scapes but locks some of them behind a paywall or leaves some out that were ready pre-launch for day-one DLC, 🤬 off PD.

PD's 'bad sales' are what the other racing games do on 'good sales'. With 60 million+ PS4's through June/July this year, if only 5% of PS4 owners buy GTS, it's 3 million. But that's a topic for another thread! :)

The only thing I'd like is for them to be consistent with their colouring between menus. If a yellow dot signifies a DLC Scape, I'd suggest using yellow dots to mean the same thing for tracks and cars as well. But that's just me, I find it far easier when I don't have to remember three different colour coding systems depending on what I'm looking at.

I am sure there will be updates and content added will also be free. I cannot imagine the paid DLC is going to win them any favors. GT6 got tracks and cars as free add-ons and I expect the same in GTS.

To be fair, GT6 needed it. No doubt the preference from Polyphony was that the course creator and the VGT cars would be there from day 1. That these features turned in such a drawn out struggle was probably part of the reason that Polyphony chose to release the small amount of content that could have been paid DLC for free. Purchasers of GT6 never actually got all the VGT content that the game was advertised with, so a handful of additional cars and tracks was probably a good way to try and generate a bit of goodwill to counter the disappointment that some players would feel.

I think if GTS feels like a complete game in it's own right when it's released, then they could do paid DLC and have it work for them.

Yeah, the inconsistent dot color ticked me off too!

I have a bad feeling every time developers talk about DLC before the game is even released. It gives me the impression that they're saving already completed work for after release, to be sold at an additional price. Kaz's statement about there not being microtransactions was extremely vague, since there's no concrete definition for the term, and he didn't say what he does and does not consider microtransaction content. Since GTS will have very few tracks and cars, compared to the competition, at release, I'd be very pissed off if additional content costs extra.

I'm not sure if this is off topic or what, but I expect the first three DLC (cars + track + scapes + liveries) to be free perhaps, then paid...?

PD, in terms of games devs, have a quite decent reputation with paid DLC. Nobody will getting ripped off here I think.

I vould be free DLC, don't take conclusion with such little information.
Pcars had 10 cars via free DLC, i could be the same thing but with Scapes.

I'll just wait and see when game comes out.

SMS didn't show DLC two months before the game came out.

"Jaguar Land Rover is now owned by Tata Motors from India, therefore Jaguar should be listed under Asia"

I am not trying to say they should be, I was just suggesting one possibility of why Lotus was not seen. But pretty easy to prove wrong, as it is not listed in the Asia section either, nor China at all for that matter.
