What?

I'm still dissapointed as I thought this was GT7, but go watch the trailer again the graphics look insane.

The close up shots of the cars in the trailer weren't all that great IMO. The Nurb bit was probably prerendered but even that didn't look amazing. Look at NFS 2015 screenshots and gameplay, I have literally never seen anything so real in all my life.

GT Sport looks only on par with Forza 6 which has never been super impressive graphically. If anything GT has gone backwards because GT used to be graphically ahead of its competition for many years.

So it's just more GT academy online BS then?
Where on earth have you got that idea from?
What a waste of time.
Glad you can tell us that after a 2 minute trailer that tells us zilch apart from:

a) There's going to be a PS4 GT title, which is hardly a surprise.
b) They're making use of their FIA partnership with some more motorsport based content.

If you can tell me where you grabbed GT Academy from (and you didn't do a good job of hiding the fact that you obviously have a massive grudge against the programme/Nissan/PD/all three at the same time), or tell us why some slow motion shots of a few new cars tells us that the entire game is a "waste of time", I'd be happy to hear it.

I have to say, I'm slightly disappointed.

The graphics really don't look great, compared to the stunning NFS 2015 and even Project Cars it just looks like a remastered GT6. Everything is too matt (sign of a bad game engine) and not as detailed as I was expecting.

I'm positive that the mattness of the colours is just caused by a colour grading filter (or "Instagram filter") applied on the trailer. The colours on the real-life parts are similarly matt and several previous GT6 trailers have also had colour grading applied on them. (Also, I don't think Polyphony, The Lighting King™, would take such a step backwards after getting it so right in previous GT games)

Where did I mention a grudge against the programme, nissan or PD?

The PR came bundled with academy info and how this is the next step from it, it isn't a true GT, it's more academy with an FIA banner.

...Huh, I go away for a couple of hours, and GT7 section of GTP vanishes into thin air... What now????

GT Sport, eh? Hmm. Any word on release date yet?

Denouncing GT Academy as "BS" is a decent start.

No, this is what you think it will be. Nobody has a clue what it'll be.

Is all that anyone knows.

Although the name and the game is still in development (they even said so) it looks really interesting.

So far there's more questions than answers and it's just a very first trailer, so as usual other trailers will be much better.
Just... need to get ready to buy a PS4.

Disagree, everything before the flags part was impressive. (let's also wait till we see more). you do have a point about NFS and DC for me look better than this trailer, but I'll reserve judgment.

The description on the Offical channel states

In addition to everything you'd expect from a GT,

If you believe that then it looks like this is the next GT.

I'm looking forward to it, but at the same time, I don't I should be because of what's happened with PD over the past couple years. But we're getting cars that we've requested so there's that

I guess GT Sport will be focused in online racing only...like some kind of Free To Play game (probably not being Free to Play though, but it could make more sense if the game is going to have a Beta phase) with its progression system (credits based depending how you do on each race and such).

Remember those rumours about a F2P Gran Turismo, well this can be it. The microtransactions in Gran Turismo 6 to buy in game credits was some kind of test to see how that could work. If enough people paid for credits they sure will be putting that back.

Start to look at games such as RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E) or Auto Club Revolution (ACR) if you want know what is possibly coming.

My other guess is that this can be another of those GT Concepts with a different name. Typical PD strategy in every console generation, quick money for them to then develop the "big daddy" called properly Gran Turismo 7.

A lot of time without commenting here, speculation times begins once more. :D

Everything looks "in-engine" there, lower res reflections mappings, aliasing/shimmering with light reflections.

Nurburgring poly models looks close/same as PS3 but with higher res and better filtered (2d) trees.
Brands Hatch is the same.

What they all have in common is a new color/light toning.

The car shaders/poly count in game are the real stars of the show.
