This is very important given some of the speculation going on about the game



That's from the trailer description of the official Playstation Youtube page.

As I've already said, it's a pretty meaningless statement.

A GT game has things you'd expect from a GT game in it! SHOCK HORROR!

No, this is what you think it will be. Nobody has a clue what it'll be.

Nobody? Odd, then:

This:

a) There's going to be a PS4 GT title, which is hardly a surprise.
b) They're making use of their FIA partnership with some more motorsport based content.

Is all that anyone knows.

It should be noted that the FIA partnership doesn't bring with it any more content (at least, not yet). All it brings is a player being recognized at the same event as those that race in real life. It is marketing, pure and simple.

If you believe that then it looks like this is the next GT.

The wording, at this point, sort of opens up a potential can of worms, depending on who you're asking. What do some people expect of a GT game these days?

I'd assume the beta-testing will wrap up fairly quickly, if we're to stick to the usual GT Academy schedule...

It's especially meaningless since the last two major GTs didn't have the things people expected in it... So yes, it means absolutely nothing at this point. Not until we see more trailers/info.

That's not really what he was talking about though. The weird and obscure age range with the exact number used just seems like a little easter egg.

Guys, I think it's pretty simple. GT sport isn't even a game. It's simply an online portion within GT7. So yeah, in my opinion, I don't think it will be sold as a stand alone game. Just like uncharted 4 before it, announcing its own online portion of the main title.

How do we know its not a reboot to the series altogether? We just don't know enough yet.

I already have mixed feelings about it.

The trailer doesn't look all that wow. At some shots you could even say that is GT6 (example the sequence with the Mazda VGT)
But then the pictures look great, although is nothing really breathtaking. Honestly the new NFS screenshots already look better than it and GT always been on top of their graphics game, so I think this is a bit disappointing.

And by last there is this whole focus around this new FIA circlejerk, which seems cool, but at the same time seems like the game will be heavily focused into the online competitions while offline gameplay will be lacking like it is already with 6.
I mean I know is too early too judge but when your debut trailer is literally focused around this FIA thing and nothing else you can already tell that the game will be 80% about that, and not about the good old GT life that got lost in the last 2 games.

I mean whatever, is way too early to tell. Maybe it will be good after all.

I have no doubt that whatever style of game is put out next be it a demo/online or full GT7 rebrand to GT sports the graphics and the physics will be on point but I don't know if my heart could take the lack of good sounds.

Well, Im not keeping my hopes up. That trailer was so bare bones. There wasnt much to see for something that is suppose to come out in a few months. That leads me to believe it will be a GT7 Prologue. Hopefully Im dead wrong and theres a ton of new information of the next month or two pointing towards this being a real, full game. I want to throw money at PD but they make it so difficult sometimes.

Teaser trailers tend to be "bare bones", hence the teaser aspect. More info will come at a later date.

iRacing is partnered with Blancpain aswell, it makes licencing a lot easier, how ever we know that Porsche licencing is exclusive to EA, in the old WRC games Colin Mcrae could not feature in them because Evolution studios didn't have the rights to use his name despite having the series licence for example.
