I was thinking of the original excuse to be either licensing issues for said Supra, or the PS3's limitations? Of course, that second reason wouldn't be logical..

Or they could pull an SMS excuse and claim the Supra is/was unavailable for data gathering/modelling.

Imagine vacuum cleaner sound from those speakers

I wonder if Kaz changed his mind about having standards in the next GT on Ps4. That interview was almost three years ago when GT6 just released.

Unlikely. The same reasoning that would lead them to conclude that standards are acceptable on PS3 would apply to PS4 and any later games as well.

Until we get any sign that they're dissatisfied with having low quality assets in their games, it's a fair assumption that they still think it's a good idea.

It would be so odd to do so. Why would it be a good idea to add ps2 cars in a Ps4 game and they know damn well the competition is making every car high quality. I'm not even gonna continue to talk about this in this thread because it's a thread for that. Anyway i hope we can see a second trailer really soon and it's actually showing way more than the first trailer. I don't know what to think of these photo's that Jordan posted a few pages back.

Well, the current sounds are a low quality asset and those are being completely redone.

I'm not saying I agree that it's a good idea, I'm just saying that whatever logic brought them to the PS3 decision is just as applicable to PS4. And until they actually give some hint that their philosophy has changed it would be unwise to assume that it has.

And we know that because they said so. They specifically did not say so in the case of the standards, in fact they said the complete opposite.

But being redone doesn't mean they're not satisfied with low quality assets in their game. That will come when we actually see or hear what the results of the redo are. It may be the case that they're still happy with having relatively low quality sounds in their game, but they want a bit more bang for their buck from the low levels of memory and processor time that they're willing to dedicate.

Did the real car ever had the barcode instead of the fiawec logo?

PD substitutes possible copyright issues with a barcode. They also do it to block about tobacco sponsors (philosophical reasons). For example, the XJR-9 & CLK Touring Car in GT have bar codes instead of sponsors.

Cars is definitely GTS.

There is much similarity to the GT6 Version (barcode, no "HY") as to the car from real life

Not so much philosophical so much as it is trying to keep their rating. Many Developers do this exact same thing when they get a car that featured Alcohol or Tobacco Sponsors (Hence Codemasters with F1 2013 substituting "John Player Special" On the Lotus 97T with just stars as well as "Camel" on the Lotus 100T with "Lotus").

Also bear in mind PD would've known photos would be taken and shared at this event, they would have been careful not to leave anything super revealing on show. Whatever they do have that is totally brand new, they aren't going to want to have it revealed like this.

Good point but then again what did we see? GTS cars in a real environment? Granted they are new cars (some of them atleast) but hardly something worth hiding that much.

This shot is certainly from the game. Note the absence of unsightly wires to hold the nets. The floor looks different too

I agree, and if you look at the column you can see they are gloosier than the reality. PD is going to make an incredible game, can't wait !!

I just wish we wouldn't have to rely on leaks for information on this game at this point. They should have released atleast another trailer with some information as to what the heck this game even is and what it will contain. Yes we know that it is a Granturismo game, but what makes improvements are there other than graphics? This is the stuff we should atleast have an idea of by now if they are going to really go through with this "early 2016 beta."

All pictures are from ingame render..except the Toyota TS030 One
For the Lexus picture, we can clearly see ingame tree's in the background, and for the people it's a blending

Yea i never said that you said it im just saying in general. It was not acceptable on ps3 and it is definitely not acceptable on Ps4.

Yes, if one had the ability to digitally place a car into an image, it would be unthinkable that they could also modify other parts of the image as well. It's not like people have been using Photoshop to do this for years or anything.

Or it could just be a photo from a different time to those others, because it's a very heavily trafficked tourist area, and it probably gets repainted all the time. Oh look:

No wires and glossy pillars. Who'd have thunk it?

Stop winding yourselves up, people. It's some very nicely lit CG models placed onto real scenery. It's well done, but it's not even moderately difficult by today's image manipulation standards.

Even if these are image backgrounds, it gives us a good idea what PD is looking for in terms of photo travel. I haven't seen diversity like this since GT4's photo travel, assuming that these locations make the final game in some form.

The TS030 pic isn't completely real life. The car is modeled and stuff, so the car is definitely in game. It also doesn't have the HY plate on the front like in GT6 compared to it's real life counterpart. The background looks too real though.
