Those car models may be from GTS to a degree, but unless PD figured out someway to get 4k textures to run on a PS4 and have a framerate still exist, even for photomode, they're all just fancy prerenders.

Anyways, I hope this means someone got showed a map of the world so they realized that there's more to ****ing Italy and Spain.

There's no way of telling those textures are 4k, especially coming from an off-camera shot.

It's most likely a photomode type render with downsampling though. Considering the RC-F has GT's reflection mapping complete with missing self-reflections, I'm more akin to believe they're just testing their lighting and shader work with real backgrounds. Otherwise there'd be no point in using GT assets, they could render more accurate reflections through another software.

it gives us a good idea what PD is looking for in terms of photo travel

Unfortunately, it doesn't.

And it's not the only examples. PD modeled a lot of locations just because they can

2k resolution liveries still have a very noticeable pixelation that would be noticeable even from the more closer up shots.

And for all of your sakes, I hope that's the new lighting, cause GT desprately needs non-**** lighting.

I still don't get why the waste time in recreating such beatiful landscapes when the game lacks in basic stuffs like cockpits. maybe they think taking pictures is the core of the game.

Nope. It's entirely possible to use one model when setting up the scene and another model when making the actual render. So even if 4k textures for some reason would be impossible to to run on a PS4 and have a framerate still exist, you don't really need that framerate because you don't need to produce the photomode image in 1/60th of a second.

They could still be just fancy prerenders though, but not because it would be impossible to do that on the PS4.

The time "wasted in recreating the landscape" is probably about the time it took to purchase the photo.

Also, landscape modelling and car modelling are separate teams. No cockpit modeller took time to create these sceneries.

It's an off-camera shot downscaled from its original resolution to a 970x720 image. Any downsampling will remove pixelation, even GT6 in-game captures. Unless it's a direct-feed image, there's no way to tell it's 4k.

On the bright side, GT Sport is only 3 months away(4 I guess? It was either April or a March release date for the beta testing. Could be May at the very latest) so we have a couple more months of teasers.

I've lost faith in PD when it comes to dates :P Meaning I doubt we will be playing the beta in the first Half of 2016.

Having said that, I wouldn't mind if they proved me wrong :D

This is sad that we still know almost nothing about this game, and still only have one trailer. :banghead:
I get it, but... it's Gran Turismo. What I mean is the gist of it is easy to figure out. It's like saying we know nothing of a new Call of Duty or MGS.
