I get it, but... it's Gran Turismo. What I mean is the gist of it is easy to figure out. It's like saying we know nothing of a new Call of Duty or MGS.

To a degree that is true but this game is touted at being very different to previous games. It's the first proper GT game with a unique title rather than just a number or 'Prologue/Concept', it's said to have a new FIA driven game mode, and so on.

There is a lot more to learn here than if they had just announced GT7 as normal.

Agree. However, it would be nice if they could release some more detailed info on the game. So far we have one trailer and some superficial info on the basic features.

Haven't really thought about this but.... will there be a GT movie tie in with this? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
My question is, what exactly can you put in a movie that is related to GT aside from cars and racing? There never was really a story within any of the games.

They've been saying that they'll do something akin to GTacademy.

GTAcademy for the win. Young Spanish kid picks up a PS1, races with his grandfather who was a big motor racing fan and maybe raced himself. Kid gets the bug, practices like hell, enters a virtual racing competition and wins, a few years later he's competing and winning on the world stage. If there was no GTAcademy and you made that movie you'd be laughed out of the theatre because no one would believe you could go from your couch to a racing seat and win. Done right it could make a heck of a movie. If it's done by Hollywood odds are it'll be ruined but an indy production might just do the trick.

Johny write the script now! Claim the rights (however that is done) then get rich!! Johny your a superstar :)

Thinking about it start a thread and get a collaboration from GTP'ers - the possibilities are endless :)

After finding out one of the people working on the movie worked on "Battleship", I'm finding it harder to hope its at least a decent movie.

Maybe something on the line of brother did race but got hurt so he wouldn't be allowed to race in Real life until he won the competition...

Wanna share the script mate? :D

...Too true. Battleship was seven shades of awful. If it won't for Liam Neeson and Brooklyn Decker I'd have never see that travesty.

However, there are precedents of writers from crapfests turning out decent films so I'm somewhat optimistic.

It was better than Skyline.

Wow, this thread has gone as on topic as my chances of getting a girlfriend...

...My bad. Wasn't intentional.

There are a few "anticipated games of 2016" videos up on YT but most, if not all, doesn't even mention GT:S. It's quite sad really...

Probably because as far as the wider public is concerned the game doesn't even exist yet. It was launched, very briefly, during a relatively minor game show and then pretty much never spoken of since. The media aren't talking about it, there are no extensive previews, there are no promotional tie ups and it hasn't featured at any major gaming events.

I'm sure things will change soon and they will begin greater promotion of it leading up to the beta but until then, the game is virtually non-existent in the greater gaming world.

You did not totally wrong.

However, few put a racing/sport game in their anticipated list.

Anyway, when PoDi, Sony and FIA will speak again of GT Sport, when the beta will be available, this game will not go unnoticed.

Hot wheels has a C7.R as part of its "Gran Turismo" pack. Which could mean that this car is in GT Sport. With all of the racing models we saw in the last trailer, this doesn't really surprise me.

Is this pack officially affiliated with gt?
