looking in Google Maps the bridge in France on the Rhodes River is the Pont Tarascon Beaucaire.
Wow, never though I'll hear about Tarascon on a GT forum haha :) we have a summer home near this town (Aramon, near Avignon/Tarascon), yet the Rhone (not Rhodes :) ) is not a lake :/

Can't wait to see what this Provence stuff will be :)

Maybe by the time PD's 'Sport' showcase becomes a 'full' game, I'll buy into it. Unless they shut down Sports' servers in preference to a GT7.

If previous experience, (Gt5 servers being closed to force players to buy Gt6, Gt6 servers being closed to force everyone to buy sport), taught us anything... then you'd be absolutely correct on theirs, or Sonys Gt sales policy.

Just an idea, but it's a long shot : we all focus on the bridge because of the last video, but what about the "small" mountain in the background ? It could be the mont ventoux in Provence, which is famous in sports ("tour de france" is a biking event which started like 3 days ago) but also used in motorsports for some hill climb track events, see for example this video :

Might come along with addition of a hill climb mode ? :D

Another one with a nice view :

They have not forced anyone, they simply shut down the servers of a disused platform that in 2018 turned 13:idea:

I'm gonna leave this little observation . The bridge is small . Look at the sailboats next to it . It's by no means a huge monumental bridge . The New shots show the handrails proving it's a small bridge . The large hill in the background is just that , a very large hill . Its not a mountain , the castle structure stacked on itself would reach the peak in 6-7 castles . That's a tiny " mountain ". Its not even on the scale of Sierra .

As for any potential event updates, "Real" Multi-class racing please. It's like, right there!

Just divide the classes evenly. With 16 choices, a player could select up to16 different classes for a race. Surprised Gr. X isn't in there, but I'm thinking this might have been an initial idea PD had.
Just from my experience in random lobbies, people tend to go for the highest class in multi-class lobbies. I was literally the only person in a lower class in all of the lobbies I joined so far. This could be solved with organized racing leagues and all, but Sport mode chooses random people. I think matchmaking will have a very hard time matching people in multi-class races more or less because of the lack of people in the lower class. Yes, I'm aware that people like certain classes over the other, but at the very least that's only on GTP. Based on lobbies that allow RSS on N200 cars, and their tendencies to get the highest class allowed in random lobbies, I'm guessing that the general populace wants to go for the fastest

You're totally correct. GTS should imo implement a Mixed class mode and force the split. I'm running a series on here with 2 classes (SuperGT) and it's really great fun, people say so from both classes. It's been a huge success. Wish it was built in!

One thing I will say is mixed class racing is a little more "serious". Randomers in top class probably won't like being held up by the slower guys in the slower class, and the slower guys may not handle being overtaken 30 times a race very well.

On a side note, Mont ventoux is not that big (1000m elevation), depends from the distance you see it, like in this kind of shots from Avignon (with the famous, at least in France, Avignon broken bridge) :

But I agree it's a very long shot :) Probably 90% chances that it will be a new fictive track more than a real location

Well I'm liking this give the wolves a taste teaser trailer's from PD this time round and am looking forward to whatever the new track/location is going to be with this DLC.

Can't wait to see what the next one is going to be revealing, the only thing which disappoints me slightly is that the DLC is most likely at the end of the month when I am very busy but guess it means I get to enjoy it more in August when things calm down at work.

Sur le pont d'avignon l'on y danse (spelling might be wrong because I'm English :P) is now stuck in my head!

Yes and no. GT5s servers were not a 'disused platform' when GT6 came out... ;)

I think the poster is pointing to the fact that the PS3 was extremely aged when they shut down the GT6 servers, and inaccurately mentioned GT5 in the same paragraph :nervous:

The platform itself was indeed aged. The games themselves, not so much. I'm quite sure there would still be lots of online activities in both GT5 and GT6 if they didn't pull the plug. But business decisions are business decisions after all.

I got maintenance notice for 11th of July on gt sport this morning is that a regular thing? I’m not usually on gtsport much during the week so not sure

Maintenance happens every week yeah.

It's not indicative of an update.

Regular maintenance that has been scheduled from October 30th. But for next (read Tomorrow) Wednesday's maintenance, there will be a Penalty System adjustment during said maintenance period.

The update to the penalty system (maintenance) is said to reduce the amount of penalty times, rid of penalties when in light contact with other cars and adjustments to driver rating 'A' is expected to function like other ratings under rating 'A'.

Sounds quite good, but hopefully is fixed once and for all.

I was just thinking about this. Drove up it last year and it would make an ideal Hillclimb run for a video game. I don't think that this teaser is about Mont Ventoux, but I wish it was!
