Unless Grand Valley grew 3 sizes after GT6 I don't think it'll fit a bridge that big
I suspect if (when) we get another Alsace track it won't share much (maybe the pit straight) with the "village" circuit. It'll be something like Alsace forest/valley/vineyards etc. The potential for a great track isn't necessarily reduced because the current one is a bit flaccid.THANK GOD IT IS NOT A VARIATION OF ALSACE. So it looks like a brand new track as opposed to one we've seen before. Saying that this is Grand Valley is a real stretch at this stage. To be honest I think this will be a Dragon Trail type deal - real location, fake track.
This is probably the first time in history I’ve been correct with anything I’ve guessed regarding an update.Ahh, GTPlanet. The only place where people can have a 400 post discussion over a bridge and a castle.
To contribute and keep me from just being a negative Nancy like some members here, I’m going to say that it’s a new track. The landscape and bridge don’t line up with any track from the past, and PD have made nothing but fantastic original circuits for this game. I’m sure it will be a good track.
Personally I think that the only reasons Alsace suffers are:I suspect if (when) we get another Alsace track it won't share much (maybe the pit straight) with the "village" circuit. It's just because of the bridge...Where is the Valley that y’all are seeing
I don't hate it but the first half of it is a bit boring, imo. I really like it from the bit where the banked corner spits you out though. From there I think it's exhilarating to the finish. It's not a classic but my hopes are still high for any further additions.Personally I think that the only reasons Alsace suffers are:
-The track surface is too wide
-There’s next to no run off space
This gives it an odd flow. You WANT to push it to the edges of the track since it’s so wide, but there’s walls right at the exits of corners, making it hard to do so without crashing.
It’s also very fast in design. Getting a turn just a little bit wrong will throw you into a barrier hard. This isn’t true on tracks like Eiger and Monaco, where the overall pace of the track is much slower and allows for small mistakes without necessarily ending up in a guardrail.
All of PD’s wider tracks- like Midfield, Dragon Trail, Maggiore, etc- have a bit of run off space/gravel in most turns if you get it wrong.
All of their tracks enclosed tightly by walls- Eiger and Matterhorn were both good examples- felt a good bit narrower and tighter than the fast flowing Alsace.
I think somehow they just tried something new for Alsace and they just didn’t quite hit the mark. Maybe I’m wrong with my assumptions. I’m sure it’s hard to make fantasy tracks for 20 years and not make a dud from time to time.
And believe me, I don’t hate it either. Do I think it’s better to race on than a bunch of tracks that were left back in GT6? (Apricot Hill, Midfield Raceway, Eiger, Matterhorn, etc)? Probably not. Especially for “GT3”esque races as have been very common in this game due to all the FIA stuff.I don't hate it but the first half of it is a bit boring, imo. But this is such, and forgive me.. but such an ignorant stance.I'm not gonna lie, since it's not Grand Valley, I really don't care at this point. The only tracks I care to see now are real ones or re-imaged originals.
These new originals just ain't doing it for me. Dragon Trail and Maggiore might be the only ones I like.. The rest? pbbt
I'll happily hype up any new cars we get tho. Like ANY new cars. As long as they're not pointless duplicates.
But this is such, and forgive me.. but such an ignorant stance.
We’ve only seen a bridge. What’s to say it ISNT good like Dragon Trail or Maggiore? What’s to say it ISNT even BETTER? What’s to say that it won’t be something great? Maybe it’ll borrow from elements of Grand Valley; Yamigawa feels like a sister to Apricot Hill, who’s to say that this work be a sister to Grand Valley?
Just wait until they actually show the track, no need to get bummed out already!

That's what confuses me about this update. Why would you hype an Alsace/Tokyo fantasy track and not do the same to Le Mans?
That makes me think it's a real world circuit which is new to the GT franchise (like Circuit Paul Ricard). But then why would they tease that track with a fictional bridge?
Idk man, I'm not really excited for a fictional city/highway track. I like realistic circuits. Tracks like Tokyo and Alsace just dont for it for me. Maggiore is amazing. It didn't feel like a PD track, and for a short while I thought it was a real world track. I want more of that.
I think it will be a big track, almost Sierra size, that's why the different marketing.
Remember that trailer for GT6, showing the town? What if this allows us to drive thru a town?
Come to think of it, I'm not at home right now, but what's the location of the demo our Garage Cars drive around?
Alsace is more of a Targa/Rally course than a GT3/GT4/LMP track. This may be the same, but with better scenery.
I don't mind it. I've got the rhythm of the circuit in both directions. It's a love hate for some players. Same as I feel DT-G is my favorite track in this game. Some hate it because of a few spots, as well as not finding its rhythm.I really don't understand the hate for Alsace. It's one of the only GTS fantasy tracks I think PD did right. I love racing it with Gr.4 cars and love driving road cars like the 1972 Alpine on it. It has such a terrific flow but requires precision, has really enjoyable elevation changes, and it's by far the most visually appealing track in GTS.
That's not to say I'd want an Alsace extension; Kyoto Y+M is sloppily put together and just not very fun IMO. But if they had another track like Alsace I wouldn't complain.
