Screen-Shot-2017-11-18-at-12.53.51.png

found this pic of where the lavender blooms are best
So the lake I found is not in this zone. Which means that it could be either:
This one (Lac De Sainte-Croix)

or this one (Lac De Castillon)

On another note, the track looks a lot like the classic Spa...

So an interesting thought came up

What if for this next update that Kaz is only putting the teaser for the July update as showcasing the (potentially new) scapes on screen, and not the track? Maybe they’re not showing the track because that it would be too obvious to guess and that it would be easily identifiable.

My guess for the track is Paul Ricard.

Scapes are not 3d

Some of the best drivers in the world have unconventional ways of holding the wheel which can vary a lot. I just stopped judging after I noticed that.

Unconventional ways of holding the wheel doesn't mean the walk the wheel in 5 degree increments like that Ferrari driver is doing. That is absolutely atrocious. There is no way any professional racing driver in the world walks the wheel the horribly. I would be surprised if you can find any at all that do. Sure maybe some that hold the wheel different or at a different resting position. But basically every professional racing driver on planet Earth holds the wheel at 9 and 3 or 10 and 2 and definitely doesn't do any of that 5 to 10 degree turn and shift hands nonsense.

When driving a pass like that you might do one simple shift of your hands if you know you are going to need a ton of lock for a hairpin, but not that nausea inducing stepping he is doing.

Things that are taught in driver's-ed don't really apply to spirited driving.

Scapes are not 3d

They are most definitely 3D. They are photos projected onto 3D geometry, that is how they do such a good job with reflections and with placing the car in the scene. They capture HDR spherical images and textures and project textures onto basic geometry so the car can be placed and allow for basic reflections. Of course they just do this for each small scene. (source: I'm vfx artist that knows wtf he is talking about).

That said. We already know this is going to be a new track, which will probably include some scapes as well.

True, he is over doing it pretty badly, but the general idea is correct :) Although, when I got my license, and got in a car for the first time alone, I pretty much forgot everything I learned and just drove as I felt necessary. Things like holding the wheel as I felt most comfortable etc. As long as you’re safe and comfortable there’s nothing really ‘wrong’ :)

Sometimes there is no wrong or right. And true that some good drivers are holding the wheel wrong.

But it seemed a better discussion to me than the flower colours of the new track.

All I want from this track is narrower roads(6 cars wide track of Alsace is awful) and not so much kerbs as Sierra (that looked unrealistic)

Let's just hope it's wider than Bathurst if not it will be chaos in sport mode.

Always happened when there is a single tease from PD or Kaz and everyone started to play guessing game. Some even do further effort and deeper investigation for the sake of bridges and flowers!. Guess excitement, hype and curiousity is simply high in the air... :D That is what makes thread like this being likeable to most of us here. Keep up the good work guys!
Honestly the best part of this forum 👍. Many people guess somethings trivial, sometimes with ridiculous effort.

A nicer pace than much usual moaning.
