Alright, I got the negative out of my system. So for anyone who has played the previous games, what can you tell me about the RUF and the RE Almeyama? I’ve never heard of these cars until today and that they are returning from GT5 or 6? The RUF seems like it might be a fun addition at N700.
The RX-7 used to be a real monster in low 500pp level lobbies. Well renowned for its incredible grip and good power, and sits heads and shoulders above even the Spirit R Type A.

The CTR3 is making its debut in Gran Turismo Sport but RUF previously had pretty good cars in the BTR, CTR Yellowbird and especially the RGT with its monster performance at 500pp and above in GT5 and GT6.

There is still another FIA season next year for GT Sport. Polyphony is not focusing on GT Sport still just to add free content. That would be ridiculous.

PS5 is coming next year. There's just no point of releasing content on a two year old game. PD is a small dev, probaby takes a lot of resources for these monthly DLC.

I think the new Yellow Bird will be come to the game in the future after the addition of Ruf.

- 2 new manufactures in GT Sport. Re Amemya and Ruf.
- 4 new faces in the GT saga
- 1 standard become premium, 2004 and 2003 M3 model literally are the same.

I still don't get how PD is a small dev when they have the full backing of Sony. This is Sony's flagship racing game. Why aren't they more invested in it?

Sony is probably keeping the staff low for its production costs... Either way I feel its silly for them to have a small dev size. Imagine how much of a masterpiece GT7 could be with a massive team.

I think about it often. As a fan of GT, I'm afraid "GT7" is a game with limited content, like GT Sport in the beginning.

However, it is said that GT Sport assets were produced in 8K, aiming at the new generation of consoles. In other words, at least the GT7 would come with GT Sport content.

Another point to note is that PD hired new employees. I hope the PD has expanded its staff to produce more content, especially about real and fictional circuits and modern sports and racing cars. This leaves a lot to be desired when compared to games produced by other softhouses that do not have the logistics of PD.

With the success of FIA's e-sports events, this makes it much more useful for PD, because, in theory, many circuits and brands will wish to put on their cars and circuits stored in GT7 content.

I was hopeful there would be an update to the page, but it looks like the LH time trial is really just that. I'll watch some streams tomorrow to see what it's like, but probably a pass for me, especially if they leave the penalty system the way it is.

Putting in endless practice laps is exactly what I dislike about this game. But I hope others enjoy it.

Ruf literally doesn't appear in any other game that also has Porsche apart from (for some reason) The Crew 2. There was every reason to doubt Ruf's return - and the fact it's come back with a car that has a Ruf body rather than a Porsche one is intriguing.

I agree. This is very intriguing. It may give us a little more insight on how the licensing may be agreed upon. If there are more Rufs to be added in the future, it could either work that any Ruf-designed body (CTR3, CTR 2017, SCR 2018) are able to be added or any Porsche models not represented can be represented by a RUF model. Without getting too much into a car discussion since this is about the update itself, this may show implications of similar manufacturers and how they are categorized going forward.

HammerStudiosGaming, a bellend whose many trangressions including throwing a lot of mediocre content at the wall and seeing what sticks, retitling his old videos to make them look like new uploads, and according to Famine, gross stupidity.
Nevermind the song and dance he would put on this forum, everyone from moderators to a pretty big chunk of his community got brought into the last drama he put on for all of us to see

God, I wish PD should stop making free content and focus on their next game already. They already proved their point that they can support a game for more than a year. They're just spoiling their fanbase and it'll surely backfire on them on their future games.
You would rather pay $60 for a new game & approx $500 for a new system, & hey maybe the wheels won’t be compatible so another $300 for a wheel...? You must be rich buddy congratulations

So I can't even trust the official Playstation channel? I think it's not a trivial thing and it shows the lack of communication between Poly and Sony. No one at Poly can ask the channel to change the description? This is one of the most wanted tracks, don't give false hope to your fans. Gran Turismo has a new community manager on Twitter very active. This should be his job. "Don't expect Laguna Seca this month". Case closed.
At the end, it doesn't matter, the track will come probably next month. And I love the new cars (RE Amemiya ), thanks Poly. The next GT will be epic!

Is his website www.bellend.com by any chance? A great read! (It actually exists haha) :dopey:

That's not really how it works

Regardless of that, Japanese game development culture is different from Western studios like Ubisoft, EA, Turn 10, etc. They aren't always interested in massive scale and massive crunch.

PD is not a small dev. It might not be as big as Playground Games or Naughty Dog, but it's far from being small. Hundreds of people work for PD, PD recently opened another studio in Japan, and it belongs to Sony, a billionaire company, which grants them enough resources to create big games.

And of course there's a point adding content to GT Sport. Fresh content helps keeping the e-sport aspect of the game alive. And all the content is probably gonna be reused in the next GT game. It's an investment.

This site has deteriorated in the last year or so, and the interactions between people in this forum is evidence if that. Page after page of agro and rubbish.

The game is a pastime and for enjoyment. It’s not supposed to result in interactions like this.

In no way what so ever do this place embody what a community means. In here it’s all about tribes.

Shame, it used to be a good place to come to get information and share ideas.

Who's to say this content won't work for the new game?

Not really bothered that Laguna Seca didn't make it for this update. I can only blame for whoever is in charge of the PlayStation YT channel in typing the Laguna Seca video description.

Regardless this ain't gonna derail my excitement for this update since the car pack is decent in my view.

$7.99 in Australia.

Guess we'll all be waiting to see who posts the special cars prize tomorrow.
$7.99 would be more reasonable, but unfortunately it's $11.95 for us. Still, it's not a lot of money in the whole scheme of things but I'll wait and see if it's worth it... or wait for it to be going cheap on a PS Store sale.

Something else I noticed... has there ever been cars that expensive before? $14.95 AUD for the first three (when sorted by price high to low) is a bit steep :eek::eek:

Basically, THE prime example of a Scumbag who's channel solely lives on poor content and clickbaiting.
I dont get it, what he has done? I always thought hes a nice dude and liked that he reviews cars even from older games.

Well we’re all passionate about the game and what not, so it happens for any other community that has the same amount of passion for a game. However, I guarantee if you boot up GT with a guy you had a heated argument with on here, you’ll walk away friends.

Someone wasn't around for the GT5 days.

Man, the lack of Laguna Seca is a pain in the ***. I was counting the hours to try the Corkscrew. Not gonna lie, I'm disappointed :(

Well, at least Ruf is back!! A geat addition to GT Sport. Hope more Rufs come in the future. And the new GT League events will entertain me for a couple hours, so it's not all bad news.

Well LS wasn’t in the update trailer, which could hint at it not coming this month, but until the update actually drops, we can’t be sure 100%. We’ll see tomorrow.

That's why it's nice to check out the Gran Turismo website which doesn't feature it either. There's no way they'd add circuit experience into the news article and yet not add Laguna Seca to it.
