Exclusive VGT cars (three in recent months), partnerships with Toyota, Porsche, Mazda and Michelin, Spa, Laguna Seca (at some point), the return of Ruf...
Scraps?
Toyota? Sure, I don't like the Supra and the new 86, but that's legitimate.
Porsche? You've got 5 or 6 other games with Porsches after the exclusivity finally expired, and the VGT's arriving in late 2020, around PS5 date release.
Mazda? I don't even know when the VGT will come to GT Sport. Did they say it? There's not even a post on Gran Turismo's website.
Michelin? No sign of change other than some stickers and some branding here and there.
Spa? As I said, they teased it without releasing it just to get more hype in the community. Fortunately we got it and some strange things that people thought were going to happen didn't happen.
Ruf? They had no problem with Ruf for the first 6 games, there was no actual reason to doubt it would return.
The thing is that,
eventually, Polyphony delivers. But sometimes I don't really know what they're thinking when they do certain choices. First of all, they don't even directly respond to the community. We have to chat here on GTPlanet because they don't have an official forum, and I'm sure that they do read this forum from time to time, but they never did a direct Q&A to the community as far as I remember.
For example, Laguna Seca is not in the next update despite being said that it would be. Why? Total radio silence. No response from Sony or Polyphony. If they at least explained what went wrong so that they changed their mind at the last second, most people including me would understand.
But I guess that's just how the Japanese act.
My rant is over. Now, talking about the cars in the next update, I'm really looking forward to the Amemiya and the Ruf, they look really interesting. I had great fun with both in GT5 and 6.
