More like bravo to Driveclub. Models so well detailed, the site's most biased-member towards GT:Sport had to make a comparison of literally, the smallest details (even throwing in his usual mix-mash of different lighting) to give 1 game the spotlight. Never mind the fact, car models are once more, the only argument consistently made for GT:Sport.

I'll remind myself to look for keyholes & Carello's brand name on the F40 next time I'm playing GT.

simply admit that GTS looks better is too difficult right? lol

This time it seems like it is less cherry picked than the past attempts.

So atleast give him some props to that.

I didn’t say it didnt. I fully expect it to. But you had to resort to something nobody would ever see while playing at the tiniest fraction to compare to Driveclub.

Here are some screenshots (wrong place to put these?) of the Renault RS.01 in both GT Sport and Project CARS 2. I took both cars to Bathurst, set the in-game time to 15:00 and light clouds to match GTS, parked them under the ArmorAll bridge beside the giant building and took some pictures using the race replay.

This was mostly just to check the accuracy of the livery I made in GT Sport, but I though it would be fun to post them here instead of deleting them.

I don't know who wins, I like the lighting on the GT Sport pictures but I like the PC2 textures more.

You asked for it :

Also, as DC vs GTS image comparison by @emula I had to say DC model were close as good as GTS. However in certain areas GTS is more detailed. Overall, both game did the car modelling very well in my opinion. 👍

And yeah, Happy New Year everyone! :D

Already saw that video, but I must say that GT Sport has come a long way since the Enzo shared the 458 sound file. The Enzo might be the best sounding car from the December update.

Agreed. However, my favorite sounding car is F40. That engine notes is so orgasmic...

Like all the other things in the world also in laser scan the quality changes from studio to studio...

Yeah, because nevermind the fact that it'd pretty damn hard to get photos taking in literally the exact same angle, right? You're using the worst possible way to make that assumption.

@ImaRobot my friend I don't say anything about pictures angle... Please take a look better before you talk... The planning of the road is not the same... There is big difference in the most want place in a race game there is difference in the limits of the road...

I know you didn't, I did. Please comprehend the sentence before you reply. There is literally no way you'd be able to judge the laser scanning accuracy, or if it was different, unless you were using the exact same angle in the exact same spot with pinpoint accuracy. That difference can come down to the picture angle, that is literally exactly why I mentioned that. There's not enough to gauge that, just going off these photos.

@emula, cool compression between the F40 from GTS and driveclub. In my opinion the polyphony model is superior in almost all ways. The only aspect I think evolution studio's model is better is the texture of the paint. On the F40 there is a really thin layer of paint applied to save weight. This means that the contours of the fibres of the composite which the body is made of are visible through the paint. This is also visible in driveclub, but not on GTS.

Let's not forget the F40 in GT is 3 years younger. So we've had to wait 3 years for those extra tiny detail. I'm Drive club could have the same detail if they had unlimited time to release a title that is still incredibly lacking.

No, driveclub would have added more cars, or made a sequel. The difference is in the idea behind the game. Polyphony made a game that should be the introduction to esport racing. This means that the game should be as accurate as possible. But should also trigger people to race against eachother. Which is obtainable by holding back on initial content, so players will be exploring the esport section. Later on the scope of the game can be broadened so it will please more people.
Another reason to keep the number of cars limited is balancing. This is way easier with fewer cars, and since this is a first, it generates a less steep learning curve. For you and the developer. You can choose better because you will not "drown" in the possible choices. For the developer it is helpful to prevent more gr.4 Meganes.
Driveclub is ment to be more open, casual, arcadelike. So when it puts a smile on your face, has succeeded. They predicted that amazing looking and sounding cars would put a smile on our faces, so they did that. But absolute perfection isn't needed for that.

More on topic: I think that graphic, along with all other aspects of a game should be judged acording, or at least keeping in mind, the type of race game it is and tries to be.
This means that I am quite upset with the wonky looking brakes rotors and the smooth F40 paint. This upsets me more in GTS than in, for example, a need for speed game. Mainly because hyperrealism isn't need for speeds focus, its focus is having you make the coolest car to play out your own fast and furious movie.

Jeez, what's with the hideous gamma and sharpening filter on the GT4 screenshots? That's not a good representation of what the game is supposed to look like at all. It looks a ton better without those adjustments when configured properly.
