GT Sport's 2020 Updates to be "Modest", Three New Cars Coming Next Week

Still crazy that they support this game almost till the end of this gen, big props 👍. I really didn't expected them to give us this much tracks and cars for free, they really outdid themselfs. Hope they can continue this next gen also, then im fine with 1 GT for the gen.

But not only the cars and tracks, but the minor changes it lacked in 2017, poses, rims, social functions, sponsors, the number of modifications you have now like the helmet and suit liveries etc etc etc.

However, if you bought the game in the late 2018 or 2019 on a bargain for twenty bucks, then yes, you got more content for less money.

Disappointing update for ME. I had hoped for some race cars.

I get that the updates are FREE but there is nothing wrong with hoping that vehicles added to the game meet some sort of rational need within the game structure. Yeah, okay..road cars are important in GT.

Racing is important in GT Sport. How can they continue to ignore the obvious and add at least a few race cars. Like:

Ferrari 488 GTE
Ford GT GTE
Or any of a number of present day race cars.

That's why some are disappointed. Folks shouldn't take that personal or deem it as some sort of attack on PD and its employees.

Pretty disappointing PD bringing cars back we've seen and used so many times. I thank them for everything they added though and understand they need to start work on next generation.

I just wish they would make the weekly races more interesting and stop doing repeats! There are so many combinations yet some race shave been used 3 times. It feels like they aren't even utilising their own content. Besides as the futuristic Grx cars it seems PD are stuck in the past way to much. For example that Jaguar Grx they added not so long ago I haven't even driven that why not use it for a one make? But no MX5 and Tsukuba instead. And if next week N200 race a team Tokyo is GT86/BRZ I'm gonna flip and don't get me started on the penalty system either haha.

I think PD should interact with the fans more and do votes for whatv people want. I would even support them finically... I just don't get PD sometimes. Like adding the option to purchase cars from the PS store who in the right mind gonna do that they can tell have made much money doing that. A lot to say about GT. the game has been really short imo and too easy, other than the grind to reach level 50 the platinum trophy was so easy and even when they add new track so and cars they don't no add trophies.

I bought a PS4 on the strength of GT SPORT (amd GTAV) but it took PD that long there was 2 new versions of the PS4. GT7 needs to impress with content and bringing back some previous features. If they did B Spec for Bikes as well I think that would be super impressive. I don't know maybe they need to hire more people and change their business model to increase revenue. I'm ranting. Ow though, PD do an incredible job and I admire and respect them a lot for free monthly content.

Yes you're absolutely right. PD are stuck in some kind of nostalgia phase. I'm an Audi fan and there is very little there that's remotely recent. They added a 16 year old TT not really very desirable nowadays. To me as well have 2 cars slightly different and having 1 in gr4 and 1 in gr3 was a cop out as well. Atenza, 4C, Subaru to name a few...

The weekly races are my problem they don't even maximise what content there is. I could create a bunch of combinations in like 5 min why can't PD. This weeks gr4 Meganne cough cough race boring MX5 at Tsuksuba guess what PD ITS OLD

What fake facts? They delivered exactly as much content as they said they would back in 2016
(i understand that it feels empty compare to almost all other games in the series ) But still that dosen't change the fact the updates are free.

I just like racing games and try to play them all GT, Forza, Project cars, Assetto Corsa,... . I play them all regularly, and like them all. I know GTS was light on content when i first bought it, but i wanted to try it out since it looked really good and its a GT after all. What i was tryna say in my post is when they first told us that they wanted to update the game every month with cars and track i just didn't believe them. But hey look they proved me and many others wrong and kept supporting the game. You can like the game or you can hate it but you can't just overlook the effort they did to make this a better game, wich they succeeded imo.

It’s amazing how perfectly you’ve exemplified what this post condemned.

You paid $60 for exactly what you were given the day you purchased this game. Nothing more and nothing less. Unless you signed a secret contract with Polyphony Digital they were not and are not beholden to providing you with anything other than what was provided the day you bought the game.

Literally anything provided after that without extra payment is FREE content.

PD could have easily charged for car packs and many would have gladly paid, it certainly wouldn't have hurt their bottom line. I thought all the entitled children played in the Forza Horizon forums but I guess I was wrong.

Well, I'm disappointed, but not surprised. I kinda knew already that we wouldn't reach 500 cars or so, cause the last updates weren't as big as the 2018 updates, and that's ok, but IMO PD could at least offer us more interesting vehicles (like Toyota GT-One, Bentley Speed 8, Ferrari 488 GTE, Lexus LFA or couple other modern production cars). No offense, but I don't think that we need another Fiat 500 when so many important cars are not on GT Sport yet.

What makes me a bit disappointed though is that probably many important tracks won't receive rain conditions. To be honest, I was hoping for rain at Interlagos, Nurburgring, Suzuka, Le Mans, Fuji, Catalunya, Brands Hatch and Monza, at least. If we are lucky, we'll get a couple new tracks and maybe 2 or 3 new rain track conditions.

It was not included in the retail price because there were no details of what kind of content updates GT Sport would have at the time of release. The first specification (50 cars until March 2018) came with update 1.06. If you bought the game between the end of November 2017 and March 2018 you could argue that the informal promise of 50 free cars was included in the deal, but that’s about it.

Gimped how? Kaz himself said the graphics upgrades are becoming smaller every gen.

The PS4 doesn't support realtime ray tracing, while the PS5 does. Dynamic day/night transition change the gameplay of racing games, if the game supports different tarmac temperature, etc.

The game has microtransactions and releasing free content makes sure people, including those which purchase microtransactions, stay engaged.

I agree, but any person could realize that game updates would be a thing either way because the initial content was very little. Yes, they could have released updates as paid DLC, but people would have been very annoyed. Remember, GT5 and GT6 had paid DLC in the game and it bothered a lot of people. Twin Ring Motegi was amongst the most anticipated tracks during the PS3 era and they turned it into a paid DLC, it was a very bad idea to do so. Besides, free updates extent the lifetime of the game, all the community can download them, without restrictions and discriminations, it's the best way to keep the players happy.

Ask these questions and see where you get.
