GT Sport's 2020 Updates to be "Modest", Three New Cars Coming Next Week

I'm not a specialist but in my humble opinion gt7, or what ever it will we called, is already partially there.
GTS is gt7 , at least for the biggest part of the work they will have on it.
Why spending so much time and money building a garage like this for free , with a such level of details that a ps4 even pro can't run this level of definition ??
For me they will launch the game together with ps5.
Polyphonie & sony are playing in the same team and the future ps5 don't have any secret for the developpers since a long time.
They are working on it since gts launch.
Only my opinion.
 
I wouldn't say that I'm disappointed. I've gotten used to the smaller car packs in recent updates. I do appreciate Kaz being up front about the volume and frequency of this year's updates, though I know that's going to piss off a lot of players. That said, I'm looking forward to the Nissan 180SX.

pCars doesn't use ray tracing and PD decided to use RT on PS4. Thus the game isn't dynamic.

I don't want GT7 on PS4, because the game should be the next leap and we won't see GT7 in the first year anyway. I am fine with an cross gen period, but i don't want to see an cross gem game in the mid of next gen.

I understand this. Kind of like how they gave us GT6 on PS3 when PS4 was newly released. I wouldn't mind as i've said.

It's literally free stuff at no additional cost, yet they're reaching and stretching for reasons to hate said free stuff with "YoU sTiLl hAvE tO PaY $60 AnD fOr PsN", I've even seen someone pull out the old "iT sTiLl CoStS yOu An eLeCtRiC aNd BrOadBaND bILl" on other threads

... yet it's perfectly ok for GTA V's supposedly 'free' DLC to cost around the $5,000-10,000 in shark cards.

I'm almost always looking forward to new content updates, though I'm not as excited for this one as I was for the updates we were getting from 2017-2019, but that's to be expected. My favorite update is still a toss-up between the Christmas 2017 update (GT League) and the one that saw the return of Monza as well as the Ferrari 512 BB.

What fake facts? They delivered exactly as much content as they said they would back in 2016
(i understand that it feels empty compare to almost all other games in the series ) But still that dosen't change the fact the updates are free.

No they didn't.

And updates were always going to be critical for this game and PD have failed massively in this respect.

We can only hope they learn from their mistakes but to date I don't think PD is capable of that with their current work structure/philosophy.

It's sort of like Honda in F1 when they rejected outside help even from McLaren their partners. At least Honda eventually became sensible and accepted "outside" expertise.

But at least we got League and Spa, right? Oh and how can we forget the LHTT.

Correct me if im wrong but they said 150 cars will be included at launch on thair promotional materials and the game launched with 169 as for the track list we already knew the exact launch line up from the reveal event , trailers , images etc . If im wrong please write all of the things Kaz promised in any way that would've been included at launch and we didn't get it.

What? How have they failed exactly? I would say the post-launch support has been excellent thus far.

JayRS200 probably didn’t play GTS from day 1 (because in 2017 GTS was a very different game) & he is blind to realize that PD basically added content for free every month.

GT Sport at launch was half of a game. The only "offline" modes were Circuit Experience, Mission Challenge, Licence Tests, and Livery Editor. But the joke was, you couldn't actually access any of those features without an internet connection :lol:. Even GT League was a disappointment when it was added. No prize cars, and constantly adding events means you'll never really complete it.

Then comes the lack of content which was truly baffling. No original tracks from the previous games, no dynamic time or weather. To date they've doubled the amount of cars & tracks offered compared to the original game. For me it's hard to look at that beyond the game wasn't complete at launch. Part of the reason we got this content for free probably has to do with the fact that it should have been in the game anyway. How many of these updates offered something completely new to the franchise?

Lastly, still waiting to hear more on that Digital FIA License.

Montousse provided an outline of Mazda’s extensive involvement with motorsports and was joined by Mazda’s Head of Global Design, Ikuo Maeda, via video message: “In the Esports world as well, I want many drivers to select Mazda and I want to support junior drivers". He also announced that the MAZDA RX-VISION GT3 CONCEPT will appear in the FIA GT Championships 2020 Series.


Maeda then went on to reveal that, “before that, Mazda will introduce a new model to the race: the MAZDA RX-VISION GT3 CONCEPT”.

Remember, we did get the Gr.3 Supra, Audi VGTs also the Gr.4 Supra separately, in their own updates.

So this update confirms that we aren't getting the Gr.3 Mazda before the FIA season starts?

And not sure if it needs a silhouette, but looks like a regular version of the Gr.4 Supra might be off of the table for FIA too.

The FIA season starts on a Tuesday. In December, we got the Supra on A Monday(Dec 16). The December update was the next day in Tuesday(Dec 17). It's possible, the Mazda could be updated on March 16, in time for players to switch, for the start of the FIA 2020 Season.
 
I think people either don't know or forgot, that PD was very up front before GTS launched, that it was going to be a very different take on Gran Turismo, and was not going to be like the others. It's focus was to be online racing, and esports. I'm sure there's an article about it on here somewhere.

My theory, and I've posted this before. During the first beta, which I was fortunate enough to be a part of, the focus was daily online races, but there was a very limited arcade mode. What PD found, was there were a lot more people doing the arcade, than participating in the online races. So much so, they turned arcade mode off, to force people online. I believe this played a big part in them beefing up the offline part of the game. They over estimated people's desire to only race online, and underestimated the desire for offline content.

The first part is why I held off buying the game. When the second part happened, that's when I bought GT Sport.

Let's say PD stuck to their guns(they didn't, but here we are) and didn't add GT League. I was relying on feedback from certain, reliable, members in this community. As it turns out, many were awaiting for the FIA news and events to begin.

I feel that would have been more intriguing to me, even as an offline player, had the FIA been sorted instead of GT League.

My offline: online ratio, was about 80:20. It's probably more like 45:55 today.

I think this probably gives more hope to the Supra than the Mazda. The Supra could be added tomorrow of they wanted, I just figured they'd show a silhouette for it. I'm skeptical of the Mazda just cause it doesn't sound like we're getting monthly updates from this point on. I hope I'm wrong on that.
 
Definetely looking forward to giving the DBR9 a spin, but I can't help but wonder if the DBR9 is the one modern race car PD have been working on this whole time. It is new to GT, and it seems like PD are pretty proud of being able to add it to the game, what with them showing it off at Sydney, so there is cause for concern regarding that notion. In any case, I can't deny that the DBR9 is an oddball choice for a modern race car, especially when there's a certain Italian elephant in this room that's getting harder and harder to ignore...

The 180SX is also a nice JDM addition that I look forward to checking out, but it reminds me of that one member who (as far as I remember) went postal at the inclusion of the Silvia because the 180SX wasn't in the game yet. That tirade aged quite well, didn't it? :lol:

As for the Fiat 500... I'm sorry, but if the updates really are going to be "modest" from here on out, GTS really shouldn't be getting same-make, same-model, same-year duplicates in my opinion.

Yeah, I forgot it's not technically same-make, the '09 500 we have is an Abarth. But then surely that means this newly-added 500 is going to be weaker in terms of power, which would beg the question - why add a basic 500 when GTS already has an Abarth? If PD did it the other way around (i.e adding an Abarth version of the old 500) it would make a lot more sense to me.
