Yeah, I get the extra zeros thing. Still simulates currency for Japanese players to western world players.
If the 11,000,000Cr. in the Lamborghini event is based on JPY, that's about 101,000 USD. Sounds about right for the payout.

What do you guys think about this: when I created my PSN account I was under 18 and I entered a wrong year of my date of birth. Am I doomed now? I'll try to contact the PS support tomorrow but I don't have my hopes up...

Actually, the new data protection laws in the European Union that went into force last week also give you the right for your data to be correct, so you can demand of Sony that your age be corrected.

I'm not sure if i understand you guys correctly, the LMP1 and group C cars in GT S is just put in a fiction Gr. 1 category in GT S, they are still LMP1 and group C cars under correct FIA regulations but just in a odd Gr. 1 category in GT S.

This is the car that won Le Mans 2011 on Circuit de la Sarthe, it is a LMP1 car but in the odd group category in GT S, but still a LMP1 car, I don't think it can be more like real life than this.

When it’s competing in Group 1 it’s not an LMP1 car anymore.

FIA don't run Le Mans. The ACO do, and neither banned rotaries.

It's not Yen. GT games have always had the Japanese versions with all values increased simply by two orders of magnitude - two more zeroes on the end.
See above post.

That only sort-of works, at the moment, and for US Dollars.

GT1 did it too. In 1998 the average Yen/USD exchange was 0.00775 (129¥/$), so ¥11m was $85k. In 2010 when GT5 came out it was 0.0119 (84¥/$), so ¥11m was $131k - nearly 55% more.

In other western currencies, ¥11m would be £76k, €87k and AU$135k, which is quite a range. And thanks to local taxation, the value of cars varies wildly in different markets - a Danish person may pay $78k for a Volkswagen Golf GTI, while a German pays $35k, a Brit pays $36k and an American pays $25k...

Ultimately there is a sort-of relation between the value of the in-game currencies in Japanese games and the Yen, but it's more opaque. Simply put, the Japanese are used to prices that are two orders of magnitude higher than other first world nations (except, historically, Italy), because of the Yen exchange rate - indeed if you learn business Japanese, you'll be taught numbers way, way beyond what you'd learn in other languages. 110,000 seems like chump change to someone used to dealing in hundreds of millions (or, more accurately, singles of hundredmillions - Japanese has a four place order system, rather than three).

So while it looks close enough to Yen to be Yen, it only does that from your currency and right now. It's just a simple raising by two orders to make the numbers less tiny. Or rather a reduction of by two orders to make them seem less huge for us. It is a Japanese game after all!

For sure. 👍

My thinking is, with this update PD is really making a big step towards beeing a complete game.
Here some thoughts,

- every update was free

- for my taste, there are enough cars to enjoy the game. But a modern formular 1 car is missing

- tracks are still not enough, but La Sarthe is a huge step

- sport mode can drive us crazy, but all in all I never ever experienced something more thrilling.

- The GT League could have been exciting, but unfortuntaley they made it mostly boring because no championship system, no car rewards and to easy also

- The campain is fine, but gold medals are way to easy. Back in old GT parts, getting gold was a challenge

- The custom races are well also

- liveries had a major impact. Very many players found their artist souls :)

I could write many more, but then its getting to long :)

In my time zone maintenance will be done on the 29th at 11 pm. So I'll get to give the update a spin as soon as I get off work tonight.

The bigger offense is a second Megane in Gr.4. Kaz is just trolling us. But I may also be starting to believe that Renault conspiracy theory...

I honestly believe that half of the cars we get are just cars PD are working on for eventual inclusion in GT7, and they just put in whatever they happen to finish into GTS.

If they have some agreement, they could at least bring a Formula Renault 2.0 in a future update..

So wait.

You mean to tell me, this

comes before this?

Well shucks and i thought PD were a bunch of lazy bums screwing around with flutes up their nose.:dopey:

So it appears the game is not done.

They are working.

They are adding new tracks.

Looks like all the guys moaning more than a woman in labor about GTS were wrong.

You seemed so sure of yourself too. What happened? :D

Remember, the game is 7-77. Gotta make it for everyone.

Hey wait, weren't all the other games for "everyone"? :sly:

Yay, another update featuring new (recycled) cars and tracks from GT6 (minus the time progression). Time to just load up GT6 and enjoy the other tracks PD bothered giving us in the past... This franchise is officially dead to me.

Wow PD really the Mk IV Supra was in literally every Gran Turismo stop recycling iconic cars and add new cars

Puting the 3 Group C cars into GR.1 kills it for me.
PD is returning to its old mis-mash ways.

The fact is that you can not create a new category with only 3 cars, so they put them in the group that are more similar to their characteristics.
If they add more in the future, they could put them in a new category made just for them.
