Glad to see it's the AP1 with the original 9.2k fuel cutoff. In a game with a limited roster, it's nice to get the most unique model.

The article says that Bernal Valverde has joined an esports team.

Valverde has attended GT World Tour events before, including the Americas Final last year (we included him in an article about it), and he'll be attending the New York event, as a Manufacturer Series driver for Mercedes-Benz. He's also a professional racing driver in the Costa Rica Touring Car Championship...

... so I ask again what does this have to do with the update?

Wonder if the middle car could be something like a 80s Mitsubishi Lancer 2000 Turbo? Looks a bit short mind.

Or a Subaru SVX but again not quite right and they wouldn't double Scooby?

Can't wait for my car to be in the game! Hello Spa Yellow Pearl

Interesting that they haven't brought back any road-going Honda models that were already premium in the previous games...

Everyone seems happier with the versions chosen for the models in GTS, so that’s probably why. Choices based on retrospective popular opinion so to speak.

Maybe they’ll stick to the same versions as before when the Integra DC5 and 2000s NSX possibly return later.

I thought their choices for which older models are premium/rescanned were based on what's in the Honda Museum Collection, and therefore easy access? I'm sure I read on here that that's where the specific NSX Type R and Integra Type R came from, with evidence? It's somewhere on old threads.

Official manufacturer museums often house the best versions of cars anyway.

Whatever the middle car is, doesn’t seem like it’s a very interesting car.

The true mystery car is the bottom right. Personally, I just don’t see PD adding another GC subaru. It has to be something else - look at that rear spoiler - it’s huge! Way bigger than any OE offerings by Subaru.

Looks like R34 TC to me.

I don't think there's an S2000 at the Motegi Honda Collection Hall. There is an AP2 at the Petersen Honda Museum though.

You are constantly saying what ISN'T the car, without seemingly saying what IS the car

That's exactly how I came about to choose my major in college, by process of elimination....

I wish I knew what car it is...
I was settled on the Lancia Delta S4 until I disproved it for myself...

I don't know what car it is, otherwise it would have said it...

I just know it ain't any of the cars that have been suggested so far, including the Levin, which I doubt...

this is incredibly petty, but if it is the Levin, I hope it's the post facelift version that hasn't been in the game since GT2, rather than the pre-facelift that's been in all the newer games.

Personally I'm pretty sure it'll be the 2001 Subaru Impreza P1 edition.

The bonnet vents, shape of the bumper edges, size of the wing speak P1 to me.

The P1 hasn't been in a previous GT, has it? Most GT-appropriate variant (i.e. something that has precedent in the series) would be a WRX STi Type R. Same shell, but JDM rather than GB-only.

Silvia S13 / S2000 (1st gen) / AE86 Levin / 3000GT (1st gen) / Impreza STI Version VI

This update is a JDM special:
- welcome to Silvia S13, GTS drifters will enjoy you (a lot).
- welcome S2000, N300 online lobbies will hate you
- welcome 3000GT, the 1st gen (the 5 speeds), you will be heavy, you will be slow, but you will be mine...
- welcome Impreza STI (version VI ?), just my favourite Impreza.

edit: I compare to the AE86 Trueno silhouette update, it's exactly the same profile... but with the AE86 Levin face.

None of these cars are is the middle mystery car...

Please try again
You missed the point of the image, and indeed the post.

My issue with it being the P1 is the bonnet; there's no evidence of the longitudinal Euro vents and while there does appear to be a central scoop for the TMIC, it's rather understated. The P1's lower lip doesn't seem to be there either.

That's why I think it's this:

1997_Imp_WRC-e1496908011330-640x416.jpg

Horizontal bonnet vents, no lower lip, slightly smaller scoop, honking great wing.

I have two reservations about that. Firstly, PD already did a 1998 version of the car and put it in GTHD. Secondly, that car had a roof scoop (I think for the whole season in real life too) which clearly isn't in the image.

So a late GC8 Type R is my second choice.

I don't deny, it was just my lame attempt at bringing the discussion back to the serious topic at hand...

I feel this is some sort of middle finger Kaz is sending us...
