GT 2 100,000 Club.

I had so much fun with this in GT 3, I thought it might be fun for GT2. This is also to get the folks w/o PS2 or GT3 into the action.
The idea is simple, you have 100,000 cr. Go buy a car, modify it. Stay within about 1% of your 100k budget. No hybrids please.

You can go as far under the 100k limit as you like.

Let's see who can post the fastest times in the 0-400m, 0-1000M, and Fastest lap of Midfield, or Red Rock valley, you choose.

Since, I just got this bright idea and it's nearly 1:00 am (my time) I am going off to bed. Will tackle this later and see what kind of results I can run. :D

I've tested three cars so far. I tried to keep them similar to the cars I did for GT3. I also tried to keep my modification budget to 50,000 cr. (+/- 1%)
For this set of cars All had Sport Tires, Semi-race suspension, Full-race tranny, racing flywheel, 2 plate clutch, Stage 2 Turbo, big intercooler, and semi race muffler.
All this stuff set me back 50,200 cr.
Cars tested: Toyota Supra RZ, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 RS, and Mazda RX-7 GT-C (You have to win the RX-7, but its purchase price would be 45,000 cr).

About the cars: The Toyota is quite fast. However, it is hard to handle. The tail keeps wanting to lead the way thru the corners. On take-off it will sit and burn up the tires, instead of getting on down the road. Fully adjustable suspension would help with the ability to lower the spring rates to add grip. Its times:
0-400..........13.050
0-1000........22.541
Midfield....1:15.760

The Lancer Evo 6. OMG what a wonderful machine!! Quick off the line, great handling, and room for five . Granted, I'm fairly fast and I know Midfield very well. But this car is awesome. The results.
0-400......... 11.622 a good launch makes the difference.
0-1000........21.424
Midfield....1:15.309 nearly effortlessly.

Last, but not least. The Mazda RX-7 GT-C. It isn't available at the dealers but is easy to obtain. (Win the last FR race in Special Events). It is agile, quick, and pretty easy to handle. On the sprints, it like the Toyota, wanted to sit and burn rubber. The results:
0-400M.........12.602
0-1000M.......21.984
Midfield......1:15.373
No car was run more than ten laps at Midfield. I wanted the cars to also have an easy learning curve. For the lap at Midfield the cars are not separated by much, A better driver (Big Torque are you listening :) ) could cut these down by better than a second.
Good luck all, and above all, Enjoy.

watch out for my Subaru Impreza WRX STi Ver.VI with these mods:

R-Suspension
R-Flywheel
Sports Tires
Stage 3 turbo

Subies are awsome, can't wait to see what you can do with it.
Consider a Stage 2 turbo and a fully adjustable tranny. Trust me. Cause you'll have enuff left over to do some suspension work.
