Ok so the skyline managed to keep pace with them but there is no handling...as in the car doesnt turn at all. Im sure my controler has pluged in there is so much understeer i start looking for the best ways to hit the barrier and bounce off or try to cut through the grass...

You sould buy a Full Customize Limited-Slip and use these settings.

..........Front......Rear
Init.......10 10
Acce ....15 30
Deacc...10 20

I use these setting on my cars and it helps alot.

Other alternatif is by using 10/1 10/1 damper, 1/7 stabilizer. It can make HKS drag R33 drivable on deep forest.

Then 10 is soft and 1 is hard? But i thoght it was reversed to that.
How do you figure that out :) ?
Using that formula work for me. But I usually using it to make my skyline more understeer (1/10 1/10), because its already oversteer madly from ride height.
*edit*
Try some more skyline, it still feel the same way. 10/1 is more oversteer than 1/10. Are you using analog when you feel 10/1 is more understeer than 1/10 ?

My opinion for damper: 10 is softer than 1
+
my opinion for stabilizer: 7 is stiffer than 1
+
some guy theory, stiffer rear create more oversteer
=
10/1 10/1 1/7 to create more oversteer.

But, as always, just like Parnelli Bone said, if it works for you, go for it, you can just ignore me.

It worked good on alot of my cars. And i can get some of my cars to
handle better too.Now that i know i was runing too soft of a shock.

Shock too soft? what value did you usually use?
Can you share some of your tuning? Can you make lotus elise 190 more understeer only by modifying spring rate, damper and stabilizer?
Let see if we came up with the same result or entirely different.

Well i did some test and this is what i got.

..............Understeer................Oversteer...
...........................Shocks........................
.............Front.......Rear.......Front.....Rear...
Bound.......8.............8...........4...........4....
Rebound....9.............9...........3...........3....
Antiroll......7.............6...........6...........6....

But i did not think the oversteer was bad:) ,but i like cars with some
oversteer as long i can keep it on the road.

It seems we use a completely different way...........
my tuning for elise 190, trying to reduce spin oversteer.
spring rate - 2.0/20.0
damper bound - 1/6
damper rebound - 1/6
stabilizer - 7/1

This is because keeping elise 190 in the road is harder for me :dopey:.

...If you want a fairly realistic rally experience, try FIA World Rally for PS2... its got real stages from rally courses around the world. AND there's damage!!!! You spin off a corner into a tree, you are liable to end up with a busted windscreen and a steaming radiator... decreased power and a suspension that pulls you off the road.!!

Any way, just thought I would throw that in for you ppl who want to try a real rally challenge.

Try Richard Burns Rally! It is THE Rally Sim you can buy. If you got realistic damage and you broadside a tree, your car is done!

Yeah, they emulate how the multilink suspension works too !

I love racing sims and F1 sims. So is there a rally sim though? I mean I was playing F1 2002 on the cube and yeah I played a full season on hard with full damage and fuel and tyres and stuff. Full race distance etc. *completed Monaco, very happy*.

In F1 2002 for the cube which is EXTREMELY HARD the slightest touch makes you lose either a front wing etc. I'd like to play a proper Rally game, realistic in the sense if you crash it's game over.

Richard Burns Rally is said to be extremely hard too, even drifting is hard.

It's pretty cool how in this forum (GT2) most of the people here are more serious. It seems over in GT3 recently it was packed with a bunch of guys who don't see why they shouldn't constantly bang into walls and other cars while they race! I hope they include damage in GT5..it'll certainly weed out all the wannabe drivers once they see themselves losing and stuff.

Parnelli Bone, I hold your technical driving ability in high respect:bowdown: after reading about 5 different threads including the 'Challenge Me' thread.
I agree with you, most of the time it is better to do technical racing especially when it is for times. But I have a hard time believing that now and then you don't just enjoy the feeling:sly: of slamming an AI car on the final curve:crazy: of Laguna Seca to get him back for what he did to you on the Cork Screw! Or that on Red Rock GT Allstars you don't take them out on the last curve if your low on credits and you are no where near your record run. The timing of this post is very funny:lol: to me though. Because,... just last night I was thinking of a 'Derby Race' is how I would term it on Laguna Seca, with pre- 1980's cars where hitting Ai is allowed, but not wall grinding, with simulation tires.:scared: It would have to be a challenging race to be fun, maybe stock cars with sim. tires vs the muscle cars at Laguna Seca or full damage on arcade. Just imagine the replays!

I also like to do that sometimes :). But, as I rarely use stock car, I rarely able to do that. If I use car that have faster cornering and slower straight, slamming the AI car would only slow me down. If I use car that have faster cornering and faster straight, I never want to wait the AI to catch up.
I never race car that have faster straight and slower cornering though.

That sounds cool and all, and I admire your humor, your worshipness, but I have to defer. Sorry to disappoint but I absolutely never purposely slam cars in Gran Turismo. But I do slam here and there when I'm playing GTA. I'm not saying accidents don't happen in Gran Turismo, but it's usually when I make a stupid mistake.

When I'm losing a race and I know I raced as well as I could with hardly any mistakes, I think to myself: well, I'm in 2nd place. It's not so bad. I'll just win the next one. :D

Thats cool!👍 It appears you are a true fan of realistic racing, and I respect that. I browsed your website by the way. It is awesome in size and content! I appreciate your rules as well and can see how they make the game better. However, I see it for me personally as an occasional change of pace if I feel I have had too much serious racing somedays. I love variety and try all types of things to make the game as interesting:idea: as possible.
Remember, if realism is what you are after that there are races where bumping occurs, though granted not intentionally in the real life GTseries.

Ahhh, thanks. That website is almost like blog at this point, I keep adjusting and fine tuning it almost daily! :embarrassed: I don't expect many people to adhere to all those rules, but if you WANT a challenge...try to do those tight races without slamming others...it's not easy but it's so satisfying!
